So after I create a partition do I really need to also create a root swap and home partitions on it during install or do I just install Linux Mint in the space I shrunk?
Also is 25 gigs enough? I don't have a large hard drive and I have no idea how bloated the system gets. I'd use it for coding.
Standard mint is a fork of ubuntu
Ubuntu is a fork of debian
debian is more stable but has less qol/user friendly features
LMDE is a side project that is trying to cut out ubuntu due to a falling out over snaps but still lacks a few qol from the ubuntu version like the driver wizard that makes nvidea easy to handle.
Is this version malware free?
It always has been...
They got hacked before and distributed ISOs infected with malware.
Wasn't that 7 years ago?

root swap and boot is enough
25 gigs is enough if you don't plan to install shit from flatpak, but maybe you could double it for peace of mind, especially if you dabble in webshit
Great for your 720p light usage laptop.
Shit for your main desktop, stick with debian here.
21 when
It'll release at the exact same time as Debian Bookworm.
moron here, what's the difference on mint and mint debian edition
