Last in what regard? Some will work after a decade but there limits in what you can do with Android 4.4 or 6.0 aside from the default readers but the current models use recent Android versions so they should be more futureproof.
Battery life depends on the implementation. Some devices like the Boox Note Air 3 will last forever while others like the Boox Note Air 3C will exhaust quickly. Most others fall somewhere in between.
Mainstream brands like Tolino or B&N Nook also have Android under the hood without direct problems.

battery life
Note Air 3 looks pretty good
but I was thinking of replacing my phone with a normal sized eink device. I read emails and ebooks, use an authenticator (hence the android requirement), listen to music (FM or just mp3s), and do attend some voice calls - that's all I do on my phone. Palma looks good for my use case. Any other recommendations?
Palma is going to have bad battery life due to the BSR.
Boox Page or Poke should be better.
Video calls is going to be difficult since they don't have a camera, even the Palma doesn't have a front facing one. Video generally isn't something you want on e-ink beyond shorter clips. The faster refresh modes make it workable but the quality isn't great and even without BSR it will burn a lot of battery.
I have a lenovo tab 7 that I got for a 100 dollars years ago. It works well enough.
I've thought about digging around and finding my old paperwhite kindle, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to connect it to my Amazon jp account. Getting an eink tablet would be nice, but they're 400 dollars minimum
I want to get a little Black person like this. I'd like one that runs android so I can connect to my Komga Instance as well as use TachiJ2K. At the bare minimum, I need one I can put my own CBZs on, what are my options anons?
Most non-Kindle models support CBZ and you should really use epub or azw instead.
Boox is your main option for Android. The 10" and 13" Note, Max or Tab are best for manga.
Still have my nexus 7 the 2012 version mind you.
Tachi is dead now, and I'm stuck at 4.4.4
It's still working though the battery is dead.
Not sure what do I do now.
Checked. Hijacking this thread to ask for someone to spoonfeed me a poorgay price-ranged (or a model that is plentiful and sold relatively cheap used) tablet that I can use to read manga and my textbooks. Being able to take digital notes on it is a plus, but not necessary; it's not a priority. I'm currently using 4th gen iPad mini (A1432). I'd like something a bit smaller, perhaps a little lighter that I can use with a case/stand.
while e-book manga reading experience is comfy (ie. reading in bed, on train, etc.), the two-page view that the computer monitor offers is a better manga experience. the manga artist's canvas is often the panoramic view.
I run it with linux and plasma mobile
No manga, but science books
How's the battery life? And how's touchscreen support on linux? I'm looking into getting x86 tablet now.
just read on paper
for me it's Kobo Sage
ywnbaj
correct. won't stop me from fapping to their doujins tho
just use my phone
is kindle this small? or you are a giant?
no e-ink
Kindle is 6". You should be able to calculate how big a 6" 4:3 screen is.
I just use my Vita
Do android based eink tabbies last as enough as a Kindle?

Look at eInk smartphones like Hisense A5, A7, A9.
Why should I stop reading manga on my PC?
You can't use your PC to read in the garden, on the train, on a park bench or wherever you go.
Even reading in your bed or on a couch is complicated.
I have Meebook m7. It is getting cheaper surrprisingly
why aren't you black?

-Shitty contrast
-No colors
-Too small screen
E-ink readers were meant for text, not images.
>-No colors
>-Too small screen
Neither of those are universal.
E-readers are perfectly fine for images.
You say it's not universal, but everytime people post images of their devices in these threads, it's true.
I just don't have a good camera. There's several people that have posted 10" and 13" devices.
moron

Overkill for manga for sure, but it's a joy to use with Mihon
11" in 16:10 seems too small for manga.
Well actually i have the s9+ so it's 12.4", just lazily grabbed the first photo. Seems fine for me
Lads, I miss MangaRock.
magenta filter is mandatory at night
How'd you get that? What device?

You can get double page view on a larger e-reader.
