I´ve narrowed it down to three books:
- Suttree: its seems it has a modicum of literary quality, and it weaves a theme about coming-of-age and horses. It has trannies though
- Blood Meridian: this is the most promising candidate. There are endless setting descriptions, a nonsensical Joker figure, but readers have said it has astonishing violence desciptions. I am genuinely interested
The Road: I´ve seen the movie and I liked it
There aren't enough horses. You should read Border Trilogy now. Loads of horses. Loads of Ontology. Great fight sequences. Meta-author-versus-reader shit. 15 year old epileptic prostitutes. Men pushing phallic objects through their thighs implying wiener-on-wiener action. The vast void of being which is irreconcilable with the desires we must infact hold. ¡VIVA ZAPATA!
Also loads more spitting. And implied homeless man sex.
All three are essential. I would start with The Road, then Blood Meridian, then Suttree.
