And Eastern Rome too. was life worse in medieval Rome in say, 9th century compared to classic Rome?
>long hair
>armor
wouldn't it get caught in the armor, get pulled out, be painful, etc? I never understood how that worked outside of a topknot
Plenty of warriors in history had long hair
So i guess it wasnt really a problem
Ques I wear one
>g*ok pic
Yikes
considerably worse, way way way worse, but it wasnt bad in it of itself
Roman and Islamic cities generally had much better access to clean drinking water and better wastewater management, so your chance of dying of dysentery would have been considerably less. Medieval Europeans resorted to diluting all their water with alcohol it was so filthy - imagine every peasant in 8th Century England being afflicted with FASD. Medieval peasants worked less, were less subject to exploitative plantation working conditions than Roman commoners and slaves, but they would have also had reduced literacy, a shorter lifespan, and less freedom to travel.
>Reduced literacy
Ignorance is bliss
>Shorter life span
Living is a gift
>Freedom to travel
This costs money
Going from living in an apartment building and working a service job or a farmer in a farming town with much higher safety and access to gyms, doctors and bathhouses to living in a straw hut almost certainly as a serf owned by a descendant of a barbarian warlord working his fields.
>face is peasants 5 centuries ago were smarter
they were literally illiterate
Zoomers can read does that make them smarter than illiterate tiller of the earth?
Illiterates can be canny survivors with the hand smarts to survive but it also means that they are easily tricked, deceived, or outwitted, and if somebody is oppressing them they are too isolated to have a voice
And? They had incredible memory to make up for it. Not to mention not all were illiterate. My ancestors at that time could write and they were Swedish peasants.
>antiwhites
What?
he said medieval era being viewed negatively was because of antiwhite Hollywood propaganda like the Witcher
>hollywood propaganda
>like the Witcher
lol what the frick that's a polish book you moron
Sometimes I think the quakers got it right.
What’s this from anon, it speaks to me deeply
Hunter x Hunter
The average didn't even know how to read or write 5 centuries ago.
more soulful
Why do people who try to meme racism into being socially acceptable also cry about, "antiwhites"?
>sunrise
>wake up
>if you are lucky you ran out of bread and can make a new fresh loaf or else you will be eating half-stale bread
>go out and start removing weed from the farm/sow seeds/harvest and process
>at about midday you go inside and eat gruel filled with whatever vegetables you could find and probably some milk and bread
>go outside and keep working
>go home once it gets dark
>eat some more gruel
>maybe frick your wife if you got the energy
>if you live in scandinavia then it's time to bathe on saturday
>just follow the above schedule once you are done bathing
>sunday
>eat breakfast
>grab your fancy clothes
>make yourself and your familiy as presentable as possible
>go to church
>socialize a bit
>go home
>eat lunch
>relax
>go to sleep
this is basically the ordinary life of a commoner, if they are a craftsman like a blacksmith then just replace farm work with smithing. if you live in an area with feudalism then you sometimes work on your liege's land instead of your own a few days a month. sometimes there might be extra festivities some days but those most likely take place on red days which just means you should follow the sunday schedule and add in the celebrations.
