Well, I guess it depends on what you compare it to. Certainly, there were improvements to the czarist era. If you compare it to Western standards I would still argue that it did hold up in some areas like STEM etc. especially if you compare it to other economies of a similar level of development.

I just installed astra linux. First impressions are its really nice. Comes with a ton of software.
Its wierd though. It didnt want to set my timezone outside of Russia during the install. I had to do it later...it was easy mind you but different. English options and translation is extremely good but it is overly attached to explaining everything, when i opened the damn software manage it opened a fricking window to explain what packages were.
Half the themes are copyright infringing as frick windows themes. They look really fricking good but theyre still windows copies.
