Pretty much, edge's implementation isn't as strong as opera's and sometimes it just looks like they boosted the contrast and slapped a sharpening filter, but it also consumes much less GPU resources. Give both a try, I don't think any one of them is clearly better than the other
Upscaling always looks like shit on video. You inevitably lose detail trying to clean up the noise/artifacts.

It is nice Edge has a setting to let you limit the maximum resolution that it upscales. Upscaling 1080p video can use up quite a lot of power. Also I've noticed that Edge's Super Resolution seems to use a lot more power compared to Nvidia VSR so if you have something like HWINFO or HWMonitor I'd monitor GPU power usage and adjust the upscaling settings accordingly.
