        >Saudi Arabia - One Thousand and One Nights
One Thousand and One Nights was composed in Iraq. For Saudi Arabia the Epic of Antarah is more fitting.

Moby Dick is not very important as far as literature goes, its original failure kept it from having much effect on anything. One of the modernist would be the way to go, massive influence on literature the world over.

The only relevant American modernist is Pound and his work was not that influential. His influence was helping Eliot (British) and Joyce (Irish) with money/advice. I think Whitman or Poe were far more influential. If your definition of modernist includes Faulkner, then Faulkner.

Faulkner would be a modernist by all definitions of modernist, southern gothic is a branch of modernism. Stein is a massive influence on literature, everyone did not flock to her salon just for somewhere to hang out. Eliot is a bigger influence than Pound. If you are going to go to earlier writers then Twain and there is not even a competition there.

Moby Dick was a modernist novel
Just about 70 years too early

Only if you ignore theme and how it deals with theme, which you can not do. Thematically it has more in common with the romantics and realists and on the prose level it is a mixed bag which is part of why it failed.

What book of the dead by Egypt? It doesn’t affect us in the modern world but it affect a lot of people for a few hundred years.

A lot of African and South American countries were heavily affected by missionaries and super Catholic so probably bible for them. I know it’s a basic answer but it’s probably the truth.
