They're all communists who want to remove the sense of individuality and status that affording a car actually gives a person, and are both offended and jealous at others ability to own one. They also want to strip people of cars to lock them down in their environments and be completely reliant on government systems such as trains and buses in order to travel so the socialist state can easily locate and eradicate dissenters.

    Walkability-gays are a cancer.

I like walkable cities but I also NEED to be able to park my car in the city, it's absolutely insane how they artificially slow down traffic to prevent people from arriving into the city in time and then they charge huge prices for the limited parking spots.
Let us in and let us park.

Civilizations are built on shared spaces, providing infrastructure is much easier and cheaper with smaller city footprints, and it's entirely possible to have density/transit and still let people drive (albeit somewhat restricted in denser places). Making your whole society spread out and car dependent doesn't free you, it makes you isolated, and thus easier to control.

This is unfortunately something that Amerimutts will never understand. The reason their country has been in such steep decline for the past 50 years is that White Americans completely ceded their cities to subhumans. Fleeing to their suburban hellscapes made them feel safe which made them complacent about the state of their country. Now things are turning bad enough that it will even start affecting these formerly safe suburbs it's already too late for the country to recover.

I think they will make it impossible for whites to participate in society, we're already seeing its beginning with blatant anti white hiring and college admission practices. Next we'll see banks and other such institutions restricting or denying services, at first just to those deemed "racist" but most who buy into anti white ideologies already consider every white to be "racist", so that definition will quickly expand. Then comes denial of municipal services, as I stated in an earlier post providing such services to suburbs/rural areas is expensive so this will be easy enough for local governments/utility companies to justify. At that point, the few whites left will be too impoverished to defend themselves in court, so they then add in a gun ban for anyone not in an explicitly anti white gun club (potentially legal due to the wording of the 2nd Amendment) and thus it's open season on us.

A lot of the American skeptical mindset around making their towns and cities nice and not hellscapes makes sense when you realize that the US had its original culture basically eradicated worse than the Chinese Cultural Revolution through a combination of mass urbanization, desegregation, mass immigration, and the replacing of Christianity with the worship of Money and Self. That’s why ideas of communities that look out for each other existing, let alone building and maintaining beautiful things, is foreign to the American mindset since their neighbors are likely out of state transplants or literal foreigners whose allegiance to the country only exists as long as they get paid. It’s a national or rootless cosmopolitans pretending to share a common identity.

Claiming that Tokyo is highly walkable is like claiming that the five boroughs of NYC are highly walkable.
Well, sure, any place is walkable as long as you're capable of avoiding cars and bikes while walking. Residential streets in Japan are cramped as frick, making it impossible for more than one car to pass through at a time, let alone both a car and a pedestrian. Many places on the eastern edge of the city of Tokyo proper, like Hachioji and Akiruno, have tons of blocks where there are few shops, no sidewalks, just rows of houses. They're probably a bit denser than the least dense parts of Staten Island, but they're comparable to small towns elsewhere in Japan in terms of the availability of shops, schools, and other services.

Please, I'm begging you, post a pic of the prison cell you call an apartment that you think is so much better than even owning a trailer in America. I'm waiting in anticipation.

You're wasting your time. Danish anon here. I completely understand about urban planning and the need for efficiency, but all this talk about "open places for walking" and "more community areas" just translates to "more places to get drunk and for me to feel comfortable in after I leave the pub when I'm drunk." People here aren't having kids, and people here are definitely not in a rush to get married, and it's almost borderline taboo to get married, and women definitely gawk at your GF, like she's signing her life away. It's infuriating. So, all this talk about extra space is typically from the dregs who live off social assistance, or are eternally students getting government handouts, living in low income apartments, similar to the "projects" that they have in America, only slightly nicer, where they do nothing but drink absolute cheapo supermarket wine and complain online while reading news articles that appeal to their anti-American slant, written of course by government funded news outlets.

It's why when that one anon posted the modest house he lived in earlier in the thread, they tore him to absolute pieces without providing a shred of evidence for the places that they themselves live in. I'd kill to live in a home like that raising a family. You want to see what the "average" Danish home looks like?
            https://qph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-5b07cbcf27570fa45f2d035d63f3462e-lq

You tell your friends you want to go actually do something besides drinking or sitting in a car and travelling somewhere else to go look at some monument for a while and heading back, and they look at you like you have a third head. I would kill to live in a nice country-side with a modest house to raise a family. Most of the dregs here don't care about any of that though. They want handouts and not to think about work. It's why I plan on moving to the US in a few years. Hopefully after Biden gets replaced.

            Anonymous

With a coat of paint that's a really nice house to raise kids in tbh, lots of greenery around, probably safe from inner city browns.

It's an old generation home, which goes for millions of kroner, and would need to be renovated anyway because of all the old plumbing and wiring work, and it would be even more expensive to renovate comparable because its made of pre-cast concrete. Compared to living in an apartment, it's nice, and it's about the same size as that other anons home, though it seems with half as much land. Wouldn't even matter though because very few of these homes are actually for sale, and mostly 50+ year olds living in them, who will continue to own and live in them for another 20 to 30 years. You could just buy a newer home in the US for half the price.

I disagree, I think it's an improvement. Cars suck in cities, you can never find parking anywhere. Have you ever seen old films and photos of city streets in the early 1900s. Wide open spaces where you can walk. Looks magical.

You know in pre-contact american cities they still had big fricking streets. Think about that--- they didn't have horses or animals pulling carts, but they still had big spacious roads for walking. I feel like there's something to that which is really cool, and we're missing out on it in urban layouts these days. We need to go back, we need to kill all the horses and other strong animals and melt down all the cars and start building Aztec cities again. We can include a trolley or so, maybe. Maybe not.

Maybe have the center of the city as you describe, but with underground/elevated rail lines for passengers, truck only lanes either in back streets or also underground/elevated for deliveries, and have road access to the pedestrian streets with removable/retractable bollards for emergency vehicles.

What I said applies to all the cities in the region, I just think tenochtitlan is cool and unique. I guess mosquitos weren't a problem for them, somehow. There's really no indication that it was an issue. Interesting idea about the underground stuff though. I really wish there were more lake cities in the world. Tenochtitlan was huge, I'd give anything to see that system of cities surrounding that lake at their height. So weirdly unique.

This. As I've stated in an earlier post, the moment that White Americans handed their cities over to Black folk and hispanics is the moment their country died. Unfortunately my country will be heading in the same direction over the coming decades.

They don't really work for that though, the only real barrier for car ownership is economic and there are plenty of nonwhites with enough money to buy cars. The flight to the suburbs was at best a temporary solution.

Do you realize how miserable it is to live in a city where the only way to get around is by car?
Much of the city has to be filled with parking lots, and traffic is extremely congested, meaning it takes forever to get anywhere.
Cars are about the most inefficient form of travel in densely populated areas.

Cars are good in suburban and rural areas, not cities.

That's another thing shitty about the Amerifats in this thread, the sort of driving they're defending is the most dangerous, annoying, and least fun type of driving regularly done. Even a city built around the use of the car sucks to drive around, parking is expensive and difficult to find, and even in a car the erratic, moronic behavior of the millions of other drivers puts one's life in jeopardy. Driving on open roads is much more fun and safer.
