If I don't listen to music, the natural ambience around me actually distracts me hugely. Ironically listening to music (but only if I already know it, so it doesn't distract me) helps me focus by drowning out unfamiliar sounds that do distract me.
I can only ever listen to music if it’s instrumental. I’ll listen to classical, but only sometimes. It’s not even that I pay attention to the lyrics when a song is on, its just the mere presence of a voice in the room that’s distracting.
I listen to ambience. Since I live in a wooded area I can hear cicadas, crickets, owls, and coyotes at night or woodpeckers, cardinals, and warblers at day. My favorite ambience is that of rain, when it is too wet stand without a jacket.
Unfortunately, most of the time I have to stay in my urban lot and that isn't enjoyable, save some worknights.
I listen to instrumental music that compliments what I’m reading. Like if I’m in a tense scene in a horror book, I’ll put on one of the Silent Hill OSTs to go with it.
Not sure but surely if you don't even read Christian literature, you're wasting your time. There needs to be a theology containment board, you christ-cucks should be treated in the same way as the sci-fi fantasy shitposters.
i used to listen to minimal or classical music but nowadays i just dont or if my surroundings are too distracting i put on noise cancelling headphones and put on white noise
No. If a book is worth reading, I'm too focused on it to enjoy music as well, and vice versa.
However, when not reading, I do enjoy listening to classical music, with Biber, Corelli, and Vivaldi being my favorite composers. In terms of actual pieces, favorites of mine include Gorecki's Symphony No. 3, Handel's Messiah, and Glass's Akhnaten.
I don't because it distracts me

Scientifically the human brain cannot multitask. So if you are listening to music while reading, your reading comprehension will suffer.
in school they told us to listen to music while revising and then think of that song during the exam to help our memory.
That's not as effective as the chunking learning technique.
no, but that's hardly relevant to the conversation

I listen to whatever music I regularly listen to which is mainly alt rock but not exclusively.

So why do you spend your time on a literature board?
