My Razer basilisk x hyperspeed recently crapped out on me after just over a year of use, just stopped turning on one day. Is Razer shit typically this bad? What should I replace it with?

all gaymer shit is bad. I've never had a mouse last more than 2 years
Oh frick oh shit... I bought this mouse 3 months ago
good luck. for what it's worth, mine had an issue where it would randomly turn off and need me to turn it back on and off again to get it working again. worked fine but I think whatever that problem was was what did it in.
I'm not too confident in my solder skills or my ability to open it up without busting the plastic, but it might make for a fun project. I'll post here if I get around to it.
G502 or something else logitech is what I'm leaning towards. I'm using their cheapo enterprise mouse right now as my backup and its honestly pretty good for what it is and just werks so hopefully their higher end stuff is just as good
>Excuses for not opening it
Sigh
It's at my apartment and I'm at my parents for the week alright I'll do it I swear
I'm gonna make a thread in a week
>I'll forgot
But good luck
>G502 or something else logitech is what I'm leaning towards.
Be warned, it's flatter than the Earth - not good for palm grip. You'll have to use some kind of fingertip/claw grip. Maybe see if you can try it at some electronics store.
Skill issue, I bought one in 2020 and still works.

Why don't you open it, take some photos and post them. Never too late to learn how to put a sloppy solder joint down.
My first keyboard was a mess of jumper cables because I kept fricking up pads, but eventually I got the hang of it and now I fix everything I can and don't just spend money on it again.
I bought a Zowie mouse and it's well worth it. I recommend it if you hate RGB lights and prefer the plug-and-play experience of bog-standard mice.
Yep, owned a couple zowie mice over the past 12 years. If I wasn't a sperg I'd probably still have my original. Great mice.
>Is Razer shit typically this bad?
Hit or miss but generally it's pretty bad. Got 3 years out of an old DeathAdder before it started doubleclicking. Then I kept using it together with some AHK script that ignored the doubleclicks, worked fine but it got me permabanned in Overwatch (this is a good thing in hindsight).
Got a DeathAdder Essential for $25 and that one crapped out on me after 3 months of use, scroll wheel started going insane.
>What should I replace it with?
Wish I knew. I got a G502 right now but I wish I had gotten something larger, might give it away and try something else.

ROG Chakram X Origin

Swappable switches, the side stick button can be analog or a dpad or 4 way switch, the software is ass but you can save your settings to the mose so you only have to turn the software on once to get it set up and then you can completely uninstall it.
g500s for 10 years
middle mouse button finally shitting the bed. whats a good replacement?
g400s for I have no idea how long. It started doubleclicking but that was just the solder to the button that had developed cracks and was quickly fixed. They don't make them like they used to.
>a year of use
RMA it, they come with 2 year warranty. enjoy your free mouse
I had my Viper Ultimate for 2 years now. Never had any issues. Even battery is still going strong.
probably a stupid question, but have you tried replacing the battery?
several times with several different batteries
weird thing is one time after letting it sit for a few days when I put the battery back in it came back to life for like 5 minutes before dying again. not really sure what could cause it to act like that.
G502x
>get razer keyboard
>typing normally can cause random other functions to fire for no apparent reason
>some key combos don't work, it's actually worse than generic keyboards at allowing multiple simultaneous keypresses
>get razer capture card
>it barely works and the official support opinion is "just replug it lolz"
Don't bother with this company's horrid products.
>What should I replace it with?
All tech has gotten worse. Anything sold online especially has turned to shit because they know you can't do much about it. China is also butthurt that most production will be moving to Mexico and they are going bankrupt.
>a razor mouse broke
wow color me surprised!
>What should I replace it with?
You may not like it, but this is what peak mouse experience looks like.
am I paying $15, $30, or $18.56 for that
Yes
>ugreen
Since when does that meme power adapter company make moron mice?
g502x
>Is Razer shit typically this bad?
The wired Deathadder is the best computer mouse ever made, so no.
I've beeb using the rake razer basilisk ultimate since september 2019
only "issue" is that some of the rubber on the thumb rest thing has worn away
still functioning flawlessly otherwise
I have one of those.
I like the shape, and the buttons. Specially how nice and soft (but not oversensitive) and not hard as frick the mousewheel button is. But I don't like that it seems to drain batteries faster than any logitech mouse I had, and I really don't like that sometimes it just loses out connection. It just does because, and I have to wait for half a minute for the thing to start working again. It's a bit infuriating. Never had wireless trouble like this with logishit.
Also the software is absolute cancer and unlike Logitech there's no portable tool to avoid it. But unlike Logitech, you can bind shit like F13 through F24 to a button without having to set up fricking autohotkey to do that.
If it craps out I might get a G502X. I'm not buying any other mouse without a similar shape.
you can set all your binde and macros and other settings and uninstall the software
it's what I did.
