With the engineers especially, you can't even blame them for picking a job with poor prospects, since the job prospects actually went from really good to drying up in only a few years; quick enough that a lot of people would have been mid way through their degrees when things started to turn sour due to some homosexual politician intentionally destroying their future.
Dude Engineering has stagnated in all other sectors aside from IT and Software, Industrial automation and outsourcing of manufacturing since 80s has played a huge role in this too, it isn't like we are building new infrastructure, or advancing transport and Energy systems.
As for the pajeets, all the companies outsource their clerical IT jobs to india because it's cheap af, but this decade Indian IT industry might become obsolete thanks to advancements in AI.

The Indians are aware of this and just buy fake degrees and just study what is actually needed for the job. Then there is the residual of western thought that plagues many white students. Namely that a degree permits you to apply for many jobs in a wide field. A pathway to pursuing a variety of career choices. The Indians disdain this attitude and focus solely on what a particular job requires and then purchase the qualifications for that specific job explicitly. That's why they are more successful.
I was a massive frickup and dropped out of two colleges multiple times. It took me 20 years, but I got my degree in stem. After graduating, I got a 6 figure job in engineering and just bought a house and married. I'm in debt, but things are pretty good.
I'm working for a fortune 500 company and still feel like a frickup, but literally nobody gives a frick about my GPA or age or anything like that.
I believe that my ability to cope, and the street smarts I developed through all of this is more valuable than the degree itself.
Work ethic and character are more important and many college grads don't have that, which filters them. I encourage everyone to take a look at themselves wholistically instead of being a victim.
