It's designed for readers, not writers. Very quick to read once you get the hang of it
Using purely han characters sucks for reading and especially writing purpose so hiragana is created. Also being able to distinguish pronunciations of foreign words might be nice, thus katakana came into being. A huge improvement over sitting down writing dancing figures all day.
Isn't it a single system by practical standards? They are only separate in certain contexts?
They have, long ago. They just haven't got various reasons like how the United States is an outlier in terms of a lot of international standards.
I have wached tons of subbed anime, japanese language sounds European (unlike chinese), they should adopt superior latin alphabet and be done with it
that's because you watch anime. I don't and it sounds more like chinese or korean than european languages
Nah, it doesn't sound like Chinese, it's a tonal language with totally different phonemes. It doesn't have much in common with romantic or Germanic language either, though. If anything I'd liken it to the other languages that write using syllabaries like Cherokee
I never said it sounded like chinese. I said it sounded more like chinese compared to European languages.
Oh, well you're definitely wrong there. Japanese consonants have much more in common with Europe than China
morons like you shouldn't be allowed to breathe
But he's right though.
stop samegayging
You need someone like Sejong the Great because it doesn't happen democratically.
Kanji + Hiragana for morphology/grammar is based though. It's beautiful and works just fine as is. In fact Korea should adopt a similar Hanja + Hangul system purely because it would look cooler.
Nah, hangul is already cool. The epitome of too weird to live, too rare to die
>The epitome of too weird to live, too rare to die
I have no idea what you mean by this; mixed script is kino
Hangul isn't just an alphabet, it's a batshit puzzle block game
its not weird to end pedophilia ........
were all vampires now muahahhahaha
The problem isn't that there are three character sets, it's that the kanji have two different readings. That's what fricks everything up and makes Japanese so difficult.
>two different readings
Onyomi vs Kunyomi is just where the readings originated, it gets so much worse
At least you can just use kana to differentiate them. And your example is honestly rather tame since 生きる (to live), 生まれる (to be born), and 生える (to grow) all at least make obvious sense in how the kanji connects them.
行 has always annoyed me more, because 行く (いく, to move) feels completely different from 行う (おこなう, to act).
I also get tripped up by the meanings and readings of words that look similar like 表現 and 発見 or 建設 and 施設
Should have learned Chinese first
its a barrier of entry against baka gaijin that want to subvert their values
It's mean to filter out midwits like you. Go learn Esperanto or something
>3 written systems
it's basically two
Katakana is for hiragana what uppercase is for lowercase
