Is there any way to run Parsec on these Atom pieces of shit so I can have a small screen and the power of my big PC at the same time? A stupidly lightweight windows 10 version or linux or whatever?
No one makes laptops smaller than 13 inches anymore. Frick this gay earth.
I had the best luck using sunshine and moonlight to transmit my computer's display. It's only local, though. If you want to access your computer remotely you have to use something like tailscale or zerotier
sunshine is multiplatform, maybe you checked it when windows support wasn't added yet

You can't host from MacOs.

I think I'm having a moron moment
Sunshine(the server) and moonlight(the client) are available in macos, I think sunshine may not be as polished as the other platforms, but it should work. I'm probably not understanding your problem, but you should be able to either host or connect through a mac

The developer dropped support for dmg in version 23. You can install it through homebrew or macports or use an older version

You should try using the homebrew version if the dmg doesn't work, I read some of the github issues and apparently the dmg is unreliable
I hope it works as you intended, but mac support seems bad
I bought one at a thrift store for my kid. It works really well for our purposes. Minetest, simple drawing apps, gcompris, scummvm. The keyboard feels meh, but it's a good kids computer.
They're probably fine for anyone who isn't intending to do modern gaming. Downside is the soldered storage and ram. Battery is easily replaced though.
nah, they're pretty trash. I had an eeepc in HS with 32-bit winXP. played minecraft when it was first out for free on that thing. good memories, but I don't miss the tiny ass keyboard at ALL. the only thing I've used it for since is as a portable nixbook to troubleshoot routers for people. but now I think I'd just use my chunkyboi Thinkpad instead
I noticed you don't have a bar(neat)
In regards to internet connection what do you use?
I tried setting up a system with network manager tui but for some reason it can't access my passwords even if secrets are unlocked.
I just manually configured DHCP supplicant. When at home it just autoconnects and i changed my phones mobile hotspot/password to my home SSID/password so on the go with mobile hotspot just works too. No need to use more than wpa_supplicant.

Lol, it's amazing that people recreate history, I lived it pal and netbooks sucked ass and the Intel atom (2014) at the time was slower than my Celeron laptop from 2009. That piece of shit that I had was buggy ASF and would freeze up from the most basic uses, literally useless.
>garbage atom + sataII hdd
No they werent you dumb zoomer
>No they werent you dumb zoomer
Do zoomers really use old netbooks, mp3 players and digital cameras?
I had a government issued netbook and several cheap mp3s
Looks like kde 3.5
Give it back, useless argie Black person
It's in Portuguese so I'm guessing he's BR.
Our laptops were fancier (but also overpriced, lots of corruption involved). When they reviewed the govt contracts the actual price went down by half.
here in chile they just give 350 usd credits to kids to go buy whatever
I’ll give you 50 American dollars for it + shipping.

PORTUGAL CARALHO
I loved my magalhães 2.
They never used them, and that's exactly why they are strangely nostalgic towards them. Muh tiny laptop with xp which is muh best os and all that.
>diskless unix
>no local storage
>runs ssh fine
>runs vncviewer fine
course i do, c**t
millennial here, they were decent for limited tasks IF you spent the time to set up a very light weight OS
>millennial here
ALL the touch pads on netbooks were FRICKING UNUSABLE.
throw that shit into a lindfill where it belongs.

Sure, just get one with crystal hd decoding pci-e card so it can natively decode h.264/5
Any model suggestions please? Or was that sarcasm?

I don't mind that, but Sunshine being windows only is a deal breaker. I use Parsec with both my PC Hueg and Mac Mini

maybe for your narrow feminine shoulders lmao
no wonder it's a jap keyboard
I have shoulders twice as wide as you and I can still use my 10" Pinetab2 easily. Do your arms not bend at all?

I still use my aspire one daily.
My main setup has 64gb ram, a badass gpu, 32 coar cpu and shit... but its just not SOVL.
The aspire one is fricking sovl. If you can't do something on the aspire one it's unironically not even worth doing.

er sorry wpa_supplicant not dhcp supplicant.
Is wpa supplicant even secure
I remember passwords being plaintext
How can you browse /misc/ and still stand to read the ~~*Drudge Report*~~?

My 2nd netbook was even more soulful, now with up to 8gb ram and better amd apu
used to play runescape in low detail on mine
it was laggy as shit still
They still sell netbooks, they just call them 2-in-1 laptops.

I am fairly certain they still sell Netbooks that are actually not crap.
just get any tiny laptop with an 11.6" screen and you pretty much have a netbook.
holy quarts, blessed comfy thread
I found an old netbook which still kinda works, it's a shitty HP Stream 11
Once I figure out a use for it i'll try repurpose it
Netbooks make good download terminals, especially if your ISP does not measure the amount you download between certain times.
anyone with a hackintosh netbook? I heard these were common, never used it myself
they never died, anon
(surface laptop go)

Too big. I need something 8-11 inches. And I'm not talking about wieners.

So you said in the last thread you made on this subject.
