          Yeah, the guy's in his late 70s and probably hasn't even heard of Linux. No idea why they paid him in the first place.

    >linux peaks at 3% market share after decades of microsoft frickups making windows worse and worse every day
    He was unironically completely right. Outside of the core 1% (which coincidentally is also the approximate autism rate in the western population) people don't use linux because it's so good but because the competition is that fricking bad. It's a race to the bottom and by god we'll be first.

      ->install gnu sed

        shilling apple products should be a bannable offence.
        its a matter of public safety.
        with this simple ban we could collectively save thousands of life-expectancy years

    Mr. Elevator Interview was often wrong. Also he invented nothing. His H1B's did everything for him. All the inspirational and powerful thinkers passed away in ancient times. Anyone born after about 1200 BC should not be quoted any more.

    He's right.
    Mac is very usable. So usable that even boomers, homosexuals, women and Black folk have no problem using it.
    Frick that shit. Walled garden garbage.

    Sort of. I find it usable, but the larger point he is making is correct.
    Just like UNIX, he paid to make UNIX usable, and now it is (was) in the form of (OS X) MacOS.

    No one made it useable because of patent insecurities

    A unified OS can target the lowest common denominator consistently from every avenue, whereas a Linux software often relies on some server or workstation company paying someone to make their software more useful for them or it's a case of someone developing something for their own usecase.
    So a corporate OS like Windows or Mac will always win in a race to the bottom, which means that Linux gets left behind as the populace becomes increasingly stupid and lazy when they need to learn how to use an OS.

    No. Usable to apple's target audience is literally moron friendly. They unironically used to advertise proudly in tech magazines that the mentally moronic prefer apple in education et al.
    Apple is was and always has been focused on tard shit. Everything else is secondary to that.
    Linux has always been focused on bring a rough infinitely malleable tool to get any project of arbitrary complexity done as efficiently as possible. If you can't figure out fricking kde or gnome you're not going to build anything useful in linux and should frick off back to either Microsoft or Apple anyway.

      Postscript; Apple is so wildly successful because most people are moronic and it's only getting worse.
