>you know cpus come with graphics cards built in, right?
The lack of dedicated VRAM relegates these iGPUs to the shitter for anything more than the most basic like decades-old games or certain video formats which have hardware decoding support.
That would be a good point if there were new GPUs with a similar power level at an okay price. The 1650super is EOL and not being sold new anymore, except for leftover stock which has a $300 pricetag on it and the 6500XT requires PCIe 4.0 to roughly match it in performance otherwise it performs like a 1050ti.
Just got my hands on triplet Titan X 12GB Maxwells for $100 a pop, from some miner dupming literal hundreds of em on ebay.
Why Maxwell? Last GPU to be supported under WinXP/2k/NT5.x family with offishal drivers, yet still nuff umph to do modern vidya at 4k even on Win10/11 if need be, espically with 3 of em in SLyy!
Dont be jelly. Your RTX/RX $2000 zoomzoom GPU can do rayfaysing in all of 3 titles and is limited to Win11+latest nixtard distro. You will be limited and happy

You both are underage morons. Frick off until you are least 18.
VR is great at getting shit playable but if you want full resolution + supersampling on the higher end headsets at 90fps without reprojection not even a 4090 Ti will come close. Microsoft Flight simulator is barely playable at 36 fps reprojected.
Seriously, what is the market going to look like in four months? They've got to either drop the prices on 30-series cards dramatically, or increase the price of 40-series cards. I'm sure it'll be a little of both. Maybe the initial launch of the 40-series will intentionally be a paper launch to frustrate some of the 'just wait' crowd into buying up the last stocks of 30-series cards.
40 series cards while indeed will be more powerful, the jump in performance with test drivers in their current state is less than 20 to 30 series, with a significant jump in power consumption and heat. Leaks already hint at this. I expect 30 series prices to stabilize and perhaps increase.
Screencap this post.
>expect 30 series prices to stabilize and perhaps increase.
With so many of the 4000 series cards only having 8gb of VRAM, I think the 3060 will jump in price a bit. The fricking 4060 only has 8gb of VRAM, and while I know VRAM isn't the be all end all, it's fricking stupid the 4060 didn't also come with at least 12.
I have a regular 3090. Price isn't worth it, especially for a ti. Buy a 3080 and relax. I do VR and for me the extra 15% perf was worth it. But really anyone, just get a 3080 or 3070.
I have a 2080ti right now, no need to upgrade. I don't play modern vidya, I'm a 26 year old boomer. I will probably look for an AMD equivalent card since it will play nicer on Linux and that will likely be the card I use for the rest of my life honestly.
I have an RTX3080. Will probably upgrade when the 5000 series are out, skipping 4000 series. Same way I have skipped the 2000 series and kept using my 1080ti.
6600 competes with the 3060 in terms of actual rasterized performance. Go with the 6600, alternatively a 1080ti but there is only about a >5% difference in performance between the two.
are any of the 3080ti and above tier cards possible to run on a very small itx build or is it suicide?
RTX4000 will prob be impossible with those power draws and heat
Trying to get a 3070 and when I do I won't need to upgrade for at least 3 years. It just sucks that the 30 series might be the last gen where you don't need a massive power supply for a GPU because of massive tdp
I have a 3090 and a 2080ti backup, will buy a 4090 when it comes out. Had the 1080ti as a backup for the 2080ti, sold it and moved the 2080ti to backup when I got the 3090. Damn near fully recomped the 3090 price with selling the 1080ti too lmao. Will do the same with the 4090 and sell my 2080ti. I kinda just shift everything over each gen
Clearly you can't remember last gen, rtx20xx went on sale on the second hand market for months prior to the launch of the rtx30xx, you could buy a 2080ti for 500 bucks because everyone believed the hype
Then the cards launch, the bot scalped almost everything and suddenly the second hand market doubled the prices of those rtx20xx, meanwhile a lot of morons sold their flagships for peanuts and couldn't get a new GPU
The smart move right now is first buy then sell, if you could beat the bots the first day you can pay your new toy selling the old one
Does anyone have news on the upcoming workstation GPU? I need to replace my GV100 soon and don't care about the cost, only the VRAM. The A6000 didn't look great.
>give it back tyrone
not >give it back, tyrone
without the comma it would seem you're suggesting he give the original owner one singular tyrone instead of what he stole
I got a 5950X from Amazon 2 months ago this way. They even refunded me an extra $150 so that I could buy from a scalper since they were out of stock. I bought a 5800X3D instead. Then, almost a month later I see a box on my doorstep and it is the 5950X.

So you just had a bunch of AM4 mobos lying around?
I have a 3060Ti and work on illustration (CSP and Adobe shit) and used to game a lot but I've been bored with games for months now, using a 1440p/165hz monitor btw, might consider learning some 3D shit later but the current GPU should be more than enough
I don't think any amount of mental gymnastics can justify a RTX4000 purchase for me, it's a hard pass specially considering the leaked power draw
Ofcourse I will wait. I will wait until i'm dead if it means bankrupting the stupid scalpers. I will wait until the heat death of the universe if the israelites don't give me good value. YOU WANT MY MONEY? THEN FRICKING ACT LIKE IT
TDPs are so high now you have to wait longer than usual if you want faster but also efficient GPUs. Waiting for the 5080 is still going mean that you need a 1000W PSU.
Just get a 3070 or 3080 now and wait for 5000 series, but by then you probably still won't need 4/5000 series because there still won't be demanding games that need them.
I bought a 3070ti and realized the prices will probably drop 100 dollars in 3-4 months. So I tried to return it before they shipped but they just shipped it out with "we put a return slip on the box for you ;)"
I may just keep it out of laziness even though it was technically above MSRP
They are going to recommend 850W for the 4080. Lol. I thought I was futureproof with my old 750W, but I guess not. My next one is going to be a 1000W PSU.
Seeing as how my RX5600XT is plenty for what I do on my computer, I think I'll wait a while.
I don't particularly care about 8K resolutions with maximum real-time ray tracing effects and 2000 FPS or whatever the frick else there is.
That's all good and well for the majority of gamers I suppose, but at least for now, I have no intention to upgrade my GPU for this upcoming generation.
Even still, my 5600 XT is complete overkill for the games that I play. Until there are any new releases that come out that interest me I think I'll be fine. most of what I've been playing recently has been Risk of Rain, which isn't a hard to run game by any means, and Beat Saber, which as far as VR games go isn't too demanding either.
I'm trying to get rid of my dogshit 6900xt and go back to Nvidia. Not sure how I'm gonna do that considering the prices and availability will be all sorts of fricked up again. I mean I only got an AMD because I somehow got lucky to get it at a price close to MSRP, and it was also in stock.
It can't run DX9 games properly and I can't play Dragon's Dogma. The VR support is also dogshit and I can't enjoy simracing games in VR. Frick AMD, it's trash. It also stutters when recording gameplay no matter the settings or software. I'm not even some youtuber or twitch streamer autist, but I should be able to make a webm here and there for IQfy every once in a while.
The frick my 6900xt ran steam vr and occulus stuff perfectly even quest 2 alvr and airlink usbc link and my old odyssey+
The frick are you doing?

Your the moron who can't even articulate to me what was wrong with your card?
Give it to me straight. How much longer does my 1080ti have left.
I have had a 2080ti since early 2019 it's still going strong but not much faster than your card (if you'res ocs well Its probably the same speed mines slow as frick non a 285w bios) almost 4 years later
The now old 3090ti is about 50% faster the 6900xt I have is about 40% faster with some mpt oc tweaks
Hopper and rdna 3 will be about twice as fast as the current stuff but I'll belive that when I see it.
I'd like to play with Pixray and run my own Sylegan2-ADA stuff, but I'm not paying more than MSRP for a 3090 FE and they're never in stock anywhere other than for a fleeting moment.
I had a call with Nvidia to discuss Morpheus and all the sales guy could recommend is getting an A5000 or A6000. Yeah, frick that, I don't need it that bad.
My old 2080 Super p[lays Elden Ring fine (for me) at 4K, it'll have to keep doing so for the forseeable future. I'm at the point in my life where tech is fun, but not as fun as a waverunner.
When was the last time you checked? After the latest market price drop a week ago, 3090 bottom price in my country is now almost the same as MSRP + yurop tax would be, and there's quite a bit of it in stock.
3440x1440p 144hz here good luck my 5600x 2080ti struggled on low and my 5900x 6900xt also struggled.
Unless new gpus can do 4k 240hz with rt in vr in 3 years idgaf

But you literally have chopping your fov in half almost mate that's terrible for fps especially in vr or corner camping
I'm skipping gpu launches the last two dozen I did where a shit show so I buy them 1-5yrs new/used after launch but that was before scalping and mining I'll just sit this one out I have two perfectly good pcs (a daily 5600x 2080ti and the project 5900x 6900xt) I was going to go zen 4 but seemed pretty underwhelming so I'll wait and get rdna 3 in 2 years new cheap while 4 drops.
Skipping a gen basically gets you twice the performance for the same price as they wunna move old stock under msrp
>Mining cards aren't bad if you're okay with deshrouding. There were miner cards at bargain bin prices last time the bubble popped.
It never stopped popping hyper inflation will never end
I have GTX1080, I want to replace it with something faster, with more memory, yet similar TDP. Nothing like that on the market.
I'm starting to think I will grab 58003D and 3060Ti and try to survive 2-3 years on that.
The 3060ti isn't that much faster it's around the same speed as my 2080ti and I had a 1080 you won't be that happy tbh unless you wunna run everything on low

for vidya, until it breaks, if you're not an idiot and know what to play without being a fricking zoomer homosexual you can enjoy it all your fricking life
I don't have any parts/building from scratch. Would it be smart to get 30 now that they're declining in price (a 70 card would be the highest I would realistically need) or should I wait for 4000
I looked at custom aio and open loop didn't make sense my case already is quiet and flowed air well. Maybe next gen when there's rdna 4 and nvidia 5000 series using 500w on high end cards my 1kw psu will get a workout in 3yrs time
>Skip the 2000 series >Most useless series
2080ti here the only one worse is launch ampere the 10gb 3080 was bad it was discontinued
You are one moronic newhomosexual.

>3440x1440p 144hz here good luck
Yeah, I'm also rocking that (AW3423DW) and It leaves a lot to be desired.
I reckon it's almost impossible to run because you gotta run a ultra wide fov which also kills performance just as much as 4k with a narrow fov. On the upside new gpus will have Ddr5 2nd gen Sam resize bar and pcie5 and better cpus next year so it might take the pressure off the gpu alone since I noticed rt can max out a 5900x in metro and hitman
>I'll wait until decent VR comes
I've had a odyssey+ and quest 2 currently they need way better resolution of the screens and tracking by a factor of 2-4x
Sub 2k native still sucks so when I downscale to 4k to 2k its somewhat ok but the tracking aiwnwhat really sucks inside out blows and outside in also blows they need a hybrid approach of both like 4 little sensors in the corners of the room + a dozen for various occlusion your hands head feet torso and legs get in the way. Then there's the issue of locomotion which sill never get solved unless omnidirectional treadmills becomes cheap
Newbie builder here planning to get the Intel i5 12400 and a 3060 Ti. Not planning to overclock because I'm afraid of breaking something. Is overclocking really that cool
Yep I got 5-20%+ gains in my 6900xt from 300-500w just by taking the limiter off same 2.6ghz base core clock
Your always Gonna trade off longevity for excessive heat and speed.
CPU oc is even worse gains youll go from a 100w 5900x for example to Easy 300w all core 5.x ghz for bugger all gains in vidya or production applications maybe 1-5%
Boost does it all automatically Al lyou gotta do is get a beefy psu is let it rip it will double power usages and heat but if it can take it go for it.
T. Aussie with solar and ac
overclocking has been a meme for over 10 years now
way back in the day, you could get huge performance boosts for no cost, just by getting lucky with a good chip with no impurities. now it's maybe 10% and it takes a 50% power increase to get there. manufacturing tolerances are tighter and the manufacturer clocks shit as high as possible right out of the box.
>overclocking has been a meme for over 10 years now > >way back in the day, you could get huge performance boosts for no cost, just by getting lucky with a good chip with no impurities. now it's maybe 10% and it takes a 50% power increase to get there. manufacturing tolerances are tighter and the manufacturer clocks shit as high as possible right out of the box.
This Kek I blew up half a dozen psus out of boredom doing just that but it was not free performance ™ as your power and heat more than doubled
My 10700k has been on 5.3ghz all core at 1.3xV (1.405v max peak), 220w max, idles in 20 to 30 w range, on cheap AIO, for two years now. OC is still a thang, tho not like back in 90s/2000 I admit, with Intelaviv at least.

Overclocking has been dead since Ryzen/Skylake. Both vendors have been pushing their silicon to the bleeding on vast majority of their SKUs with maxmium boost speed. Anything more requires crazy amount of volts and exotic cooling unless you got a silver/golden sample chip.
Old overclocking-gays simply have shifted gears and have gone with undervolting and trying to maintain maximum boost with little volts as possible.
>have i7-8700k @ 4.6 GHz all-core, noctua nh-d14, -50mV offset >advertised max clock is 4.7GHz >1.24v under load >still throttles in benchmarks and hits 100C >lowering the voltage further makes system unstable though I have gone as low as -65mV before >mobo will only let me go to -100mV total >unstable at constant voltage or higher clocks
I don't know if I just lost the silicon lottery or my case airflow is really that bad or what. I've thought about delidding but not sure it's worth the effort and expense, though i've heard the 8700's have notoriously bad thermal material under the IHS

This is a lie the guy I bought my 5900x off said it ran 5.5ghz under ln2
I thought the release for 3000 series and my new gpu was fall of 2020
Turned out my new 3000 sereis gpu release date was in the year 2022
Thank god crypto mining exist to enrich our lives.
i'm still waitcoping for now, probably gonna buy a 4050 ti or 3060 ti depending on what is cheaper
alternatively, just go with an ayymd gpu
i'm not in a hurry because i have an alright laptop with a dgpu that's just enough to run some modern gaymes with tinkering
Enjoy my 6900 XT, save about 1 K and then either buy a 4080 for MSRP or a 3090 for up to 600 € used. I wouldn't even open the 4080 I would wait a few weeks and scalp it to the highest bidder. People are sick. But that way I don't care when the high end costs 1500+. If they pay me enough I get my high end upgrade for maximum 500 or even free like last time. Felt like a steal, though it requires patience. I miss the good old times where you could just buy a Ti card for under 800 on launch day new.
Now I mainly care to make money, both will be horribly overpriced so in the end I will buy whatever delivers better 4K FPS for the money. This time the 6900 was it, I actually wanted a 6800 XT but it was sold out everywhere and I got it for 970 € new.
If you're buying anything below $400 you're gonna have to wait for a while to even find anything in that price range for next gen GPUs, so buying right now at MSRP might not be the worst deal.
That said, if you're planning on buying high end you might as well wait for next gen and get current gen flagship performance for $600-700 instead of $1200.
honestly I'm about to pull the trigger on a 3070 because the power draw on anything higher just isn't worth the performance for my personal needs.
I play relatively low res, I don't need to be catching my PSU on fire and raising the electricity bill just to get 20 more fps in fricking dark souls 7
i had such a good time waiting for things through recent years i think i'll wait for 5xxx, just to be sure, just to avoid spending five pizza's worth on a hardware i use daily
My plan is to continue using my 3050 until the 4000 series comes out, then I'll see if I can sell it and get my hands on a 4060 or something
Should be enough for the next five years
I bought a 3090 early on because the writing was already written in blood that shit was gonna get bad during the 1000 era already.
Yeah it was expensive but 6 months later people were buying their 3070's and 80's for the price I bought my 3090 at...
I didn't seek out the 3090, it was just the only card in stock locally. Didn't pay a scalper.
I guess 4000 will be okay if crypto stays dead or whatever. I don't pay attention to gambling currency.
both quake and minecraft are not designed around ray traced only lighting, they merely replaced the existing system with it (and added a few necessary changes to support it) I want a game that is designed to take full advantage of it in the way scenes are dressed, or even with gameplay mechanics using it
Waiting is pointless.
4070 is literally a 12GB 3090 for way cheaper.
>is
going to be?
You can't buy it right now.
>the unconfirmed reports told me

yes
one is 2 years away
the other is 2 months away
I doubt 16gb will make a shit of difference my 6800xt ran out of memory bandwidth way before that a 4-8gb game can easily bottleneck a card
5070 is still going to be 12GB, lmao. NVIDIA likes to keep the same memory count for two gens.
The day of the graphics card is always a few months away
And I've been waiting since 2013.

That would be a good point if there were new GPUs with a similar power level at an okay price. VR is great at getting shit playable but if you want full resolution + supersampling on the higher end headsets at 90fps without reprojection not even a 4090 Ti will come close. Microsoft Flight simulator is barely playable at 36 fps reprojected.

The merge exiting out of testing should break the used market. $400 3070s not long after.
I'm very tempted but MSRP for a 3090ti is not saying much. nvidia upcharges the premium product so i'm still getting scalped in a way.
I have a regular 3090. Price isn't worth it, especially for a ti. Buy a 3080 and relax. I do VR and for me the extra 15% perf was worth it. But really anyone, just get a 3080 or 3070.
you can build a solid machine for that money and you are enabling nvidia greed
don't do it.
Shit is 3-5% stronger than 3090 at the cost of more watts, not worth it.
for that kind of money you can get a good quadro or something and do real work with ecc memory.
When the MSRP for a GPU is higher than the sum of all other components...it's time to look elsewhere for GPUs.
no and no. I have the 8000
I have a 2080ti right now, no need to upgrade. I don't play modern vidya, I'm a 26 year old boomer. I will probably look for an AMD equivalent card since it will play nicer on Linux and that will likely be the card I use for the rest of my life honestly.
7600 XT 12GB would be perfect for the job. Hopefully they won't israelite us with low VRAM though.
I have an RTX3080. Will probably upgrade when the 5000 series are out, skipping 4000 series. Same way I have skipped the 2000 series and kept using my 1080ti.
basado
smartest guy here
bros, nvidia 3050 or amd 6600? use: hobby blender, davinci editing, photoshop, and casual gaming.
1080ti from a local ebayer
6600 competes with the 3060 in terms of actual rasterized performance. Go with the 6600, alternatively a 1080ti but there is only about a >5% difference in performance between the two.
are any of the 3080ti and above tier cards possible to run on a very small itx build or is it suicide?
RTX4000 will prob be impossible with those power draws and heat
Waiting for 4000 at this point.
t. 5800x and 1060, I suffer
Trying to get a 3070 and when I do I won't need to upgrade for at least 3 years. It just sucks that the 30 series might be the last gen where you don't need a massive power supply for a GPU because of massive tdp
If I can, I'd like an RTX 4090. I use Blender, and there's pretty much no such thing as overkill when it comes to 3D rendering.
show us some of your work. I see you homosexuals always justifying yourself with blender but none of you will ever post what you so with your rig
Blendergays never win remember that.
The cup 3dgays choose to fill has no bottom.
Solidworks chads just keep winning
got a 3060TI XC for only $26 above MSRP
Nice man
Got a 3070ti like a month ago at $699, planning on selling it as soon as I get a 4070/4080.
I'll get whichever seems best for power/money/performance
I have a 3090 and a 2080ti backup, will buy a 4090 when it comes out. Had the 1080ti as a backup for the 2080ti, sold it and moved the 2080ti to backup when I got the 3090. Damn near fully recomped the 3090 price with selling the 1080ti too lmao. Will do the same with the 4090 and sell my 2080ti. I kinda just shift everything over each gen
I'm waiting because I barely use my current, ancient GPU
I thought VR would make me upgrade but there's still nothing I want to play
I am oficially no longer buying anything but food, ever
not even clothes
literally everything I buy disapoints me
I am fricking done
basadísimo.
calm down
you still need guns and ammo
Bruh
Same
This
Gonna buy a 4080 and sell my 3080 when I get it.
The other way around. Sell before its launched so you get a little bit more out of it. But for that you need a placeholder card or an iGPU.
Just wait for the linus review pumps for the 4090 and dumps for the 3090
Should I buy a used 3070 on ebay for $515?
You can probably find on new for like 600-650 if you look real hard
this. evga and msi have 3070s brand new for 600 USD on their official websites.
Does anyone have news on the upcoming workstation GPU? I need to replace my GV100 soon and don't care about the cost, only the VRAM. The A6000 didn't look great.
Just got a free 3070 so nah
how was it free ?
stole it.
holy based
give it back tyrone
>give it back tyrone
not
>give it back, tyrone
without the comma it would seem you're suggesting he give the original owner one singular tyrone instead of what he stole
Bought it, never arrived and than got a refund for it. Showed up like 3 weeks later so I don't know what the frick happened.
I got a 5950X from Amazon 2 months ago this way. They even refunded me an extra $150 so that I could buy from a scalper since they were out of stock. I bought a 5800X3D instead. Then, almost a month later I see a box on my doorstep and it is the 5950X.
Which CPU did you settle with?
Both
So you just had a bunch of AM4 mobos lying around?
3080 laptop.
I'm good G
THEN FRICKING ACT LIKE IT
Mein fricking Black person
Why would you buy Ampere when Ada/Lovelace is coming soon in Q3/Q4?
cuz that mentality had me on a 970 until 2 months ago
I don't want to have to wait to buy a 4060 which likely won't be here until January. Also the 40 series sounds like the TDPs will be moronic
got 2000, maybe I'll get 6000.
Went from a 2080ti to this very happy so far. 2080ti makes a perfect htpc card
post this again and i'll kill you, shill
>post this again and i'll kill you, shill
This is only 900usd lmao Kys
Wait, my 5700xt is good enough that 3000 series isn't a worthwhile upgrade but 4000 should be
Probably wait until 5000 series or whatever is available in 2024-25
TDPs are so high now you have to wait longer than usual if you want faster but also efficient GPUs. Waiting for the 5080 is still going mean that you need a 1000W PSU.
I was looking at navi 33 "leaks" and they said it's 250W which is not that bad.
I'm happy with my GTX1060
>higher wattage than 3000 series
>bigger size
nah
Just get a 3070 or 3080 now and wait for 5000 series, but by then you probably still won't need 4/5000 series because there still won't be demanding games that need them.
this. If you're at 1080p a 3080 will last you ten years, assuming it lasts ten years.
cringe, IQfy is that-a-way!
here on IQfy we do productive things like mining ethereum
Think ill stick with my 6900XT.
Based same
I'm enjoying my 1650 super and starfield got delayed till next year so why would anyone upgrade now?
Sometimes it's better to buy cards immediately. *cough* Covid19.
I bought a 3070ti and realized the prices will probably drop 100 dollars in 3-4 months. So I tried to return it before they shipped but they just shipped it out with "we put a return slip on the box for you ;)"
I may just keep it out of laziness even though it was technically above MSRP
I'm at 1080p and live in Germany. There is no fricking way I'm going for even more wattage when this generation is already as hungry as it is.
They are going to recommend 850W for the 4080. Lol. I thought I was futureproof with my old 750W, but I guess not. My next one is going to be a 1000W PSU.
>1000W PSU
>touch case
>die
Seeing as how my RX5600XT is plenty for what I do on my computer, I think I'll wait a while.
I don't particularly care about 8K resolutions with maximum real-time ray tracing effects and 2000 FPS or whatever the frick else there is.
8GB is already too little for 4K. Pretty soon 12GB is poorgay mode. NVIDIA knows this, that's why they did planned obsolescence with the 4070 12GB.
That's all good and well for the majority of gamers I suppose, but at least for now, I have no intention to upgrade my GPU for this upcoming generation.
Even still, my 5600 XT is complete overkill for the games that I play. Until there are any new releases that come out that interest me I think I'll be fine. most of what I've been playing recently has been Risk of Rain, which isn't a hard to run game by any means, and Beat Saber, which as far as VR games go isn't too demanding either.
i have a 3090 and i'll probably upgrade to a 4090 if it has significantly more VRAM
if the 4090 doesn't have more than 24GB, I'll buy a second 3090 and NV-Link it
I'm trying to get rid of my dogshit 6900xt and go back to Nvidia. Not sure how I'm gonna do that considering the prices and availability will be all sorts of fricked up again. I mean I only got an AMD because I somehow got lucky to get it at a price close to MSRP, and it was also in stock.
What's dogshit about it? Mine was fine at 2600 GHz core and 2100 mem 450w til my psu popped yesterday
What you going to
It can't run DX9 games properly and I can't play Dragon's Dogma.
Playing simracing games. I don't play some shittyass troony game. I only use VR for simracing, and the 6900 is garbage for really demanding games and my garbageass Reverb G2 and it's moronic resolution and shitty WMR implementation.
The frick are you doing I was getting 3k 120hz on assetto corsa csp vr your just a fricking moron then
Keep your moron opinions to yourself you braindead moron if you clearly have no idea what you're talking about at all.
>Keep your moron opinions to yourself you braindead moron if you clearly have no idea what you're talking about at all.
Your the moron who can't even articulate to me what was wrong with your card?
I have had a 2080ti since early 2019 it's still going strong but not much faster than your card (if you'res ocs well Its probably the same speed mines slow as frick non a 285w bios) almost 4 years later
The now old 3090ti is about 50% faster the 6900xt I have is about 40% faster with some mpt oc tweaks
Hopper and rdna 3 will be about twice as fast as the current stuff but I'll belive that when I see it.
>Your
Frick outta here braindead zoomer.
Based
Anything you want, just send money.
I bought a 1660 super and unironically did it because of power consumption.
I bet I can play elden ring on my 1080ti with 1080pi screen
Probably. 1080p is objectively the best.
>tfw got 3070ti for effectively free
still upgrading to ada though because 8gb vram is just not enough
After the latest market price drop a week ago, 3090 bottom price in my country is now almost the same as MSRP + yurop tax would be, and there's quite a bit of it in stock.
my 1080 ti is still fine
Prices only go up, if you wait, only despair await
gonna sell my two 3070s and get a 4080
>Are you buying 3000 now or are you gonna wait for 4000?
I got my 3080 in 2020 and will get a 4090 this coming August.
Why the jump to the 90s?
>Why the jump to the 90s?
I'm gonna make the jump to 4k 144hz in the near future and need the juice.
have a nice day
?????
3440x1440p 144hz here good luck my 5600x 2080ti struggled on low and my 5900x 6900xt also struggled.
Unless new gpus can do 4k 240hz with rt in vr in 3 years idgaf
>32 year old moron
>
>Uhh ok cool but I didn't ask.
OK boomerz
You are one moronic newhomosexual.
>3440x1440p 144hz here good luck
Yeah, I'm also rocking that (AW3423DW) and It leaves a lot to be desired.
what don't you like about it? i have an oldish viotek at same size and res (but 100hz) and was considering upgrading to aw3423dw
I have that identical va panel in a 4yo kogan ita based and you don't notice the step down from 240 144 or 120 much maybe 5-10ms frick knows how 500hz panels will ever get enough gpu power
I went from a dh15 to a h170i I'll stick with air gpu for now just easier to work on
>what don't you like about it?
the panel itself is amazing - but I play most games in 16:9 windowed.
>what don't you like about it?
>the panel itself is amazing - but I play most games in 16:9 windowed.
So you have a gaming ultrawide but don't use it in uw 21:9? No wonder you don't like it you should have got dual uw or a single 49" uw
>So you have a gaming ultrawide but don't use it in uw 21:9?
keyword: most. racing games and the like are amazing in uw. cowadoody - unnecessary.
>So you have a gaming ultrawide but don't use it in uw 21:9?
>keyword: most. racing games and the like are amazing in uw. cowadoody - unnecessary.
The bubble has to pop
were about to enter a recession
Just wait
>Mining cards aren't bad if you're okay with deshrouding. There were miner cards at bargain bin prices last time the bubble popped.
It never stopped popping hyper inflation will never end
The 3060ti isn't that much faster it's around the same speed as my 2080ti and I had a 1080 you won't be that happy tbh unless you wunna run everything on low
>Your
>
>Frick outta here braindead zoomer.
Frick off gramma homosexual I'm 32
>32 year old moron
Uhh ok cool but I didn't ask.
Give it to me straight. How much longer does my 1080ti have left.
it will be the same with future rtx 6050 performance
if you don't overwiener it and generally keep it cool and pristine then probably a couple years
for vidya, until it breaks, if you're not an idiot and know what to play without being a fricking zoomer homosexual you can enjoy it all your fricking life
I don't have any parts/building from scratch. Would it be smart to get 30 now that they're declining in price (a 70 card would be the highest I would realistically need) or should I wait for 4000
30s are poor value compared to amd and even Turing pascal and Vega used
I'd argue to wait unless you can't
When you don't have PC is one of the few cases where not waiting is justified. 3060ti is good value at msrp.
i bought a 3080 10gig a month ago, would consider buying a 4080 if i can actually get one for under 1200
I looked at custom aio and open loop didn't make sense my case already is quiet and flowed air well. Maybe next gen when there's rdna 4 and nvidia 5000 series using 500w on high end cards my 1kw psu will get a workout in 3yrs time
i overclock my cards but also really hate the sound of gpu fans. watercooling for me is a quiet thing
I have GTX1080, I want to replace it with something faster, with more memory, yet similar TDP. Nothing like that on the market.
I'm starting to think I will grab 58003D and 3060Ti and try to survive 2-3 years on that.
Thanks, but i am straight
>integrated graphics
i wait for 4000 come out and buy a used 2000 or 3000
Skip the 2000 series
Most useless series
>Skip the 2000 series
>Most useless series
2080ti here the only one worse is launch ampere the 10gb 3080 was bad it was discontinued
>You are one moronic newhomosexual.
I've been here 18 years
I reckon it's almost impossible to run because you gotta run a ultra wide fov which also kills performance just as much as 4k with a narrow fov. On the upside new gpus will have Ddr5 2nd gen Sam resize bar and pcie5 and better cpus next year so it might take the pressure off the gpu alone since I noticed rt can max out a 5900x in metro and hitman
Yeah on this Earth.
>Yeah on this Earth.
Stop data mining for my birth certificate birthday israelite
Im waiting for 4080, or maybe 4070.
I have a 2070s.
I'll wait until decent VR comes
T. Aussie with solar and ac
overclocking has been a meme for over 10 years now
way back in the day, you could get huge performance boosts for no cost, just by getting lucky with a good chip with no impurities. now it's maybe 10% and it takes a 50% power increase to get there. manufacturing tolerances are tighter and the manufacturer clocks shit as high as possible right out of the box.
>overclocking has been a meme for over 10 years now
>
>way back in the day, you could get huge performance boosts for no cost, just by getting lucky with a good chip with no impurities. now it's maybe 10% and it takes a 50% power increase to get there. manufacturing tolerances are tighter and the manufacturer clocks shit as high as possible right out of the box.
This Kek I blew up half a dozen psus out of boredom doing just that but it was not free performance ™ as your power and heat more than doubled
>Is overclocking really that cool
overclocking is a bygone era. It's all about undervolting.
My 10700k has been on 5.3ghz all core at 1.3xV (1.405v max peak), 220w max, idles in 20 to 30 w range, on cheap AIO, for two years now. OC is still a thang, tho not like back in 90s/2000 I admit, with Intelaviv at least.
Aymd zenturdshits are maxed with capital M from the factory tho. Are you a AzovMD user? There is your problem.
>comet lake
my point stands - overclocking is old new. There's been no reason to buy a k sku intlel chip since then. Unless you love cuck-cores.
You zoomzooms don’t know wtf you are doing OCwise. Watching moronic diapers on head techno YouTubers for howtos.
Few years ago I got curious as pandemic was kicking into gear and watched one of the most popular “hardcore” zoomzoom pros (HardcoreOverclocking he goes by I think). This dumb dumb promptly killed a Bdie kit on camera in first 15min then the mobo itself was shot in the back of the head soon after.
This is the best talent zoomzoom gen has to offer. Keep that in mind.
you're free to do what you want with your hardware - i'm just saying that the majority of people do not need to bother with it as most new parts come out of the foundry maxxed out.
Overclocking has been dead since Ryzen/Skylake. Both vendors have been pushing their silicon to the bleeding on vast majority of their SKUs with maxmium boost speed. Anything more requires crazy amount of volts and exotic cooling unless you got a silver/golden sample chip.
Old overclocking-gays simply have shifted gears and have gone with undervolting and trying to maintain maximum boost with little volts as possible.
>have i7-8700k @ 4.6 GHz all-core, noctua nh-d14, -50mV offset
>advertised max clock is 4.7GHz
>1.24v under load
>still throttles in benchmarks and hits 100C
>lowering the voltage further makes system unstable though I have gone as low as -65mV before
>mobo will only let me go to -100mV total
>unstable at constant voltage or higher clocks
I don't know if I just lost the silicon lottery or my case airflow is really that bad or what. I've thought about delidding but not sure it's worth the effort and expense, though i've heard the 8700's have notoriously bad thermal material under the IHS
that's for AVX2 anyway, SSE caps out around 85C at 1.2v
just upgrade already
there's nothing compatible with my mobo that would be worth it, and replacing the cpu+mobo+ram would be more expensive than it's worth
besides even at 4.6GHz it's more than enough for anything I throw at it, I just want 5.0 for the epeen
you wouldn't need to update the ram, probably
if we're doing pissing contests
I have a 2600k 4.7Ghz still running 11 years...
Along those same lines, NH-D14 running for same amount of time 0 problems.
Wait for 4000 although my 1070 is doing fine for the few games I play from time to time.
wait
>t. rtx 3050 owner
bless the korean mafia, i mean, samsung
Those prices are ridiculous, lmao frick nvida
Fake and gay
I'm still running an R9290 and don't plan on replacing it until it breaks.
but you need $2999 RXTFX9000 with 24gb of VRAM for a half assed buggy implementation of VR from 5 years ago for 2 non tech demo titles that are available what are you waiting for moron
Based I have a 1050ti mobile that's basically as fast with a oc and it ran vr fine at 2k
Nah drs frs and dlss made upgrading gpus under 10yo pointless I mainly use it for supersampled vrrt
This is a lie the guy I bought my 5900x off said it ran 5.5ghz under ln2
when's the release?
october 2022
I thought the release for 3000 series and my new gpu was fall of 2020
Turned out my new 3000 sereis gpu release date was in the year 2022
Thank god crypto mining exist to enrich our lives.
Got a Ryzen 2200g back in 2019
Still don't get the need for installing a graphic card on the computer
Video games are dead
my birthdate is in 3 months so hopefully my dad buys me a ~$300 gpu to replace my 1060.
How old are you
26, neet. why
bros why did he ask my age
bought a 3070..played a few newer titles..back playing warframe..I could of bought a ps5 for newer titles.
i'm still waitcoping for now, probably gonna buy a 4050 ti or 3060 ti depending on what is cheaper
alternatively, just go with an ayymd gpu
i'm not in a hurry because i have an alright laptop with a dgpu that's just enough to run some modern gaymes with tinkering
4000 is gonna cause blackouts
This time the 6900 was it, I actually wanted a 6800 XT but it was sold out everywhere and I got it for 970 € new.
i got a 3070ti with 4 year warranty for 599 shipped so im happy.
Where from ?
If you're buying anything below $400 you're gonna have to wait for a while to even find anything in that price range for next gen GPUs, so buying right now at MSRP might not be the worst deal.
That said, if you're planning on buying high end you might as well wait for next gen and get current gen flagship performance for $600-700 instead of $1200.
honestly I'm about to pull the trigger on a 3070 because the power draw on anything higher just isn't worth the performance for my personal needs.
I play relatively low res, I don't need to be catching my PSU on fire and raising the electricity bill just to get 20 more fps in fricking dark souls 7
neither i think
i'll consider radeon if the wattage remains relatively sane because nvidia decided they give zero fricks
AHHH i just got a 3080 ti stop messing with me ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
>Are you buying 3000 now or are you gonna wait for 4000?
What do either of them offer that my 1080 Ti can't already handle @ 1440p?
Not everyone has a graphics card already moron
I'm still on my 1080ti which is working great. If I do decide to build new, I'd go for whatever the newest card is.
i only buy amd gpus
Keeping my 5700 XT for another 4 years at least. Only play older games and indies these days anyway. Most AAA games stink now.
I have a good feeling that the 7600 XT could be the best budget card in ages, if it has more than 8GB of memory. That's a 2080 Ti for everyone.
Only morons get the 8GB 4060 for its muh ray tracing nobody needs or 1% better DLSS quality.
3000 uses less power
i had such a good time waiting for things through recent years i think i'll wait for 5xxx, just to be sure, just to avoid spending five pizza's worth on a hardware i use daily
3080 are still starting at 1 000€ so I'm waiting for serie 4000
both
>ARE YOU CONSOOOMMING NOW ANON???
>OR ARE YOU CONSOOOOMING LATER?
only poors behave like this. get a job.
I don't pay attention to gambling currency.
waiting for a 6600/6600XT at a decent price, or whatever AMD/intel will be offering with 8Gb of VRAM at their cheapest price
Not gonna buy either. I'm gonna buy a GPU upgrade when my 1070 no longer satisfies my needs.
Waiting until either my current computer breaks or until games actually require better hardware then my 2060 and Ryzen 7 to run at a good framerate.
The next GPU I'll buy will be the one released along side a good game designed around only rendering with real time ray tracing
Quake 2 RTX?
both quake and minecraft are not designed around ray traced only lighting, they merely replaced the existing system with it (and added a few necessary changes to support it) I want a game that is designed to take full advantage of it in the way scenes are dressed, or even with gameplay mechanics using it
fair enough
