>On his deathbed, unable to speak owing to advanced laryngeal cancer, Huxley made a written request to his wife Laura for "LSD, 100 µg, intramuscular." According to her account of his death[88] in This Timeless Moment, she obliged with an injection at 11:20 a.m. and a second dose an hour later; Huxley died aged 69, at 5:20 p.m. PST on 22 November 1963.
>"At his request, his wife shot him up with LSD a couple of hours before the end, and he tripped his way out of this world."

Christgays genuinely fear the idea that their most treasured experience is so material you can induce the same state with chemicals. I’ve seen them literally break down crying about demons to try and “explain” how it’s different. Even though it isn’t.

The brain releases DMT when it's about to die, it's what causes near dearh experiences. And DMT is more potent than LSD.

LSD is a very potent painkiller, people forget that aspect. An experienced acid-head wouldn't be particularly confused, either, no more than a normie would be confused by a cuppa coffee or a glass of beer.

Even so... You can also build up quite a tolerance if you don't wait about a week between doses. Otherwise we would double up to keep tripping, one hit, two, four, eight... That's about time we'd quit, even at the prices we had back then it gets expensive! And that was usually about a weekend's worth of tripping. Give yourself at least a week, and you start again lol. But at less than a week, the effect is extremely attenuated without higher dosages.

psychedelics destroy the fear of death, I don't see the issue. What's the chance of having a bad trip while you k iw you're in your last moments? At that point you are at peace. I think.

i think we should stop all this "psychedelics do x", "psychedelics gave me y" or "they cured me from z", it's not that the molecules have any innate nature themselves, they don't cause bad or good trips, they simply are. we should empower ourselves to be the ones who trip, not the subjects of an external force that does to us as it wills, and we ought to embrace every new modality of thought we may find within us, whether it inspires serenity or fear.

In 11th grade I took Values in Literature (complete joke of a class) and we read Brave New World. Teacher made a point about Huxley being anti drug because soma so I raised my hand and when called on mentioned this little bit of trivia and The Doors of Perception. She got rather angry and said LSD didn't even exist when he died. I never read I single book in her class but never got lower than a B, I quickly realized that the values her Values in Literature class were about were her values and pandering to her values would be enough to get me a B if not an A on every assignment and test, class discussion would provide all I needed to know about the books themselves.

even something like morphine would be more understandable. because on opioids you remain mostly lucid and your mind isn't too clouded. it would soothe any potential pain and you will remain full cognizant of your brain dumping dmt and whatever else. overriding or adding to your brains natural psychedelics feels sacrilegious to your own human experience
