Quotes you feel personally attacked by?

    >The artistic temperament is a disease that afflicts amateurs. It is a disease which arises from men not having sufficient power of expression to utter and get rid of the element of art in their being. It is healthful to every sane man to utter the art within him; it is essential to every sane man to get rid of the art within him at all costs. Artists of a large and wholesome vitality get rid of their art easily, as they breathe easily, or perspire easily. But in artists of less force, the thing becomes a pressure, and produces a definite pain, which is called the artistic temperament. Thus, very great artists are able to be ordinary men—men like Shakespeare or Browning. There are many real tragedies of the artistic temperament, tragedies of vanity or violence or fear. But the great tragedy of the artistic temperament is that it cannot produce any art.

That quote validates my "shut the frick up and just make art" position very well
I knew people that would never shut the frick up about their great ideas and how amazing it is to be to be an artist and how important it is to them and yet here I am idly shitting it out without comment and I get more attention for it than they ever did

Art though beautiful is only appreciated by a small percent of the population.
Arguments though rigorous are also only proof read by a small percent of the population.
Any appeal to any senses or awareness is only receptive by a given fraction of the population and generally only marketers, musicians, and missionaries are aware of these population funnels and how to effectively zero in on good broadcasts and campaigns such that they are the real shepherds of civilization standing at the cradle of commonly inherited ideas.

it’s blatant that you haven’t read him saying this, because if anything he embraced hedonism fully. he hated the judgmental snooty nature of secularists, which is perfectly embodied in you making a sweeping incorrect judgement on a man you haven’t read anything about

Ying and yang. Without one, the other wouldnt exist. Without bad, there is no good. Without struggle, there is no triumph. Each gives meaning to the other. So yes, Sisyphus is happy.
