It's probably better to wait until the RTX 5000 series laptops are released and buy an outgoing model with a RTX 4070 cheap.
Also expensive gaming laptops are really never worth it, that graphics card probably has performance more similar to a desktop 4060. In essence low end cards like 4050 has pretty similar performance as a desktop 4050, but a laptop 4090 has worse performance than a 4080 while still costing the same as a desktop 4090. So essentially you pay double of what you would for a desktop graphics card. They're really shitty that way.
I'd really never recommend buying anything else than a low end gaming laptop honestly, that way you also avoid most of the heat and noise. You can get a 4050 one for $600 and a 4060 one for $1000 on sale.
>have a laptop >a year after buying >can't stop overheating when idle >game framerates are half of what you got at first purchase >battery lasts about ten minutes at best
>no cooling stand >doesn't fix his hardware/software issues >likely hasn't repasted his CPU/GPU with better paste than the mediocre factory slop >obviously unoptimized OS due to being a clueless techlet >types like a moron
Your frustrations are well deserved. Get off your owrthless, unclean ass and do something about your issues. Why are you buying a computer if you can't be assed to learn to use it and do whatever it takes to take good care of it? It's not rocket science. There's tons of helpful info out there depending on your situation, too.
if you live between multiple residences and move between them frequently its quite useful to have a gaming laptop (provided you do gpu intensive stuff)
I've never bought a laptop, I just hang around a college campus and find a pencil neck geek with a decent laptop, jump out of the bushes, beat his ass and take it
>i bought a lenovo ideapad gaming 3 with 4050 two months ago
the downside is that it only supports up to 16GB of RAM
RIP
yeah i noticed, that's what steered me to the 3050 since my workflow needs all the ram and cuda it can get
i swear there are no quality laptops right now, nothing worth what they ask for

oh and btw lenovo loq and legion slim are all just like that too
dunno about the pro but at this point it wouldn't surprise me either

I took one of these to Iraq in 2008 and played fallout 3 for hundreds of hours. Even overclocked the shit out of the 8700m gpu so I could play at max settings. Gaming laptops can be based if one is a good fit for you.
>DUDE WHAT IF WE SHOVE A 115W MICROWAVE AND CHARGE IT FOR $2000? >Battery life??? A laptop that is too hazardous to be put on top of your lap??? You don't need that
Gaming laptop was a mistake
I ordered a framework 16. Gonna be a month or two til I get it. Little overpriced but I like able to fix it. My omen 15 has keyboard issues and pisses me off. Needed for work
Rtx 5xxx laptops could be 2 years away. New laptop models come out typically after CES / February. They dont go in stock till early summer and start getting discounted in autumn. If nvidia can't release laptop rtx 5xxx before next CES, its gonna be 2 years possibly. And nvidia may pull some israelite shit again and rtx 5060 may only be good if you using dlss4.
>buying a laptop
No
Imo better to wait for 6050
>6050
7030 would be the better choice doe
No I rather wait for the 8070.

this
get a 4050 tops and be done with it for 5 years at least
i went for a high wattage 3050 for design but i don't play AAAslop
midrange laptops are very viable, too

the meta is to have a powerful PC and have a laptop payed for by your job.

stop being homeless
Hello fellow IQfyaylords, I also have a gaytop
best android tablet on the market simply for its aspect ratio. Death to 16:9 and 16:10
it's going to overheat and melt regardless
Lelnovo legions don't melt, very beefy cooling
>t. homie with RTX 2060, it just werks for me
I've never bought a laptop, I just hang around a college campus and find a pencil neck geek with a decent laptop, jump out of the bushes, beat his ass and take it
>HP Victus
>Good
LOL
LMAO even
-posted from a HP Victus
Man HP Victus is by far some of the most terrible shit I've been around. Only redeeming thing about them is that they're cheap as hell.
I bought HP Victus 2021 cuz it was cheap. The screen is shit, so is the keyboard. I regret it. Yes I do.
i used to own a 2021 HP victus with AMD CPU/GPU (it was 5600H and RX 5500M combo)
>t. homie with a lenovo ideapad gaming 3 with RTX 4050
it depends on QC and build design anon
and also depends on where you live

What exactly are you buying a laptop for that requires a 4070?
If you say gaming I'm gonna slap you.

wow that's great congrats
thank you for your service
thank you for your service (to israel)

imagine what's in store for you in 20 years and wait a lil longer.

>fullhd on 15"+
How is this even legal?
not the issue
it has a 4070 but it's capped at 60w so you're getting 3050 level performance out of it.
laptop market is very dangerous rn
new gpus are around the corner, so if you can wait up to a year I wouldn't buy now.
>gaming laptops
Those things are not built to last, thermals will give you nothing but headaches.
skill issue

The argument for "waiting" is recursive. Imo, just get what's out now.
I have a gaming laptop but I never use it for gaming because I don't like it to get hot. It's a nice dev computer though
improve the cooling, it's not hard
I bought HP Victus 2021 version.
Waiting until 2027 until I buy a new gaming laptop but this time Lenovo Legion.
I like my Samsung Galaxy book 2 360 with 12th gen Intel
It's nice
Also I have an expensive desktop with expensive monitors for serious biz
buy a laptop if you need to, otherwise try to wait for the 6060, or whatever the gpu equivalent of a ps6 is
