>own logitech wireless mouse
>like it, wireless + bluetooth so I can use it with multiple devices and my computer
>starts double clicking
>like all logitech mice do
>take out old ps/2 mouse from crap drawer
>desolder button switches, replace switches in logitech mouse
>GOOD AS NEW
I've never heard of the older mice having the double click issue, so I'm pretty sure this is a direct upgrade to the mouse, no more double clicking.
On a side note, if you don't have the most basic soldering skills to remove and replace a switch in a computer mouse, you shouldn't call yourself a tech enthusiast. A new mouse would have cost me at least 50 bucks for a decent replacment (probably more since I would have upgraded) but instead I fixed my mouse for free with a busted old on and some minor skill.
tl;dr lrn 2 solder

don't buy mice with Omron switches, as you just found out

if it's just a matter of taking apart the mouse and replacing the switches, I'd take that in exchange for the other features it has.
true it would be more convenient to just not have to do it, but are there any mice that are guaranteed to be made without omeron switches?

half the mice on the market have annoying anti-features to make them a pain in the ass to disassemble, most commonly putting screw holes under the skates. yeah its $3 or a bit of know how to get around it but if they design the mice to be a b***h to disassemble then they shouldn't put omrons in it.

same, own 4 logitech mice currently, no issues whatsoever.
also, their unified reciever are a godsend.

i assume you are also a based g600 enjoyer?
i had a shitty €20 mouse before which accumulated dead skin cells and grime on every part it possibly could, but my g600 seems completely impervious to it. i dont think ive ever had to really de-grime it, just wipe it with a slightly wet cloth

it looks nice and with that price it's probably a premium device.
then why in the frick, do they still use the cheapest, easily wearing plastics possible?

it looks shiny only after a month, and I saw horrifying pictures of the rubber parts wearing down on the Internet

how do we even maintain it
i mean is there a coat sprayer?
my mx is rubbery and horrible

no idea. I made a mistake of eating a spicy instant ramen near it once.
oily orange splodges are hard to take off of this shit, and once they do I found the material turned matte

That's just modern soft touch plastics, they put that shit in everything, even cars. Looks nicer at first but wears fast and ultimately looks like shit way before it should.

Every old mouse I've had eventually started double clicking, back to the PS/2 days. Granted I used most of them for like a decade first so I got my money's worth. I do miss the plain old logitech laser wheel mice though, that bastard was probably the most durable mouse I ever had, wore a fricking depression in the left button before it started malfunctioning.
Got the same mouse as you now though, the logitech mx master 2s. Works good enough (for now).

Also yeah soldering is definitely a skill to have. Had to replace the charging cable on my MBP charger like 5 times now, a lot cheaper to buy the little cheap cable and solder it to the brick than to buy a whole new charger.

Been using this for over a year, no issues, but when I first ordered it from Amazon it was double clicking constantly, got it replaced with one that was actually new.

I tend to move positions a lot, leaning back and stuff and this works on an surface, pretty great.

You don't even need to solder on new switches. Just take the spring out of the switch, clean the contacts and rebend it. You might need to do it every few years (takes about 10 minutes) and in long run your hand will wear through the plastic mouse housing before the switches completely fail.

      >Your scroll click will die eventually
It uses a different type of switch, but it's still a standard part and can be replaced by soldering.

    >I've never heard of the older mice having the double click issue
    - Old mice used switches that worked at 5v and however many milliamps.
    - New mice use the same switches and that is the problem.
    - New mice need better switches that can work with lower currents and voltages.

    >I'm pretty sure this is a direct upgrade to the mouse, no more double clicking.
If it works than I'd call it luck.
I personally wouldn't be too surprised if it started double-clicking after a few months.

    >[people should] have basic soldering skills
Definitely a worthwhile skill to have.

What soldering iron did you use?
