      ^this
I don't know how many bookmarks I have, I never use them. There's probably a dozen projects I haven't finished and forgor about.

Sounds very inefficient. How do you find the correct tab and jump between them?

vertical tab stack, you are using a browser that supports it, right?

        Anonymous

I don't know how them being vertical makes it better. I don't think I could neatly fit 50 tabs on my screen and even if I could, I don't think it'd be efficient to try and find a singular tab within that 50.

You need a "Partially proprietary" for vivaldi, cause most of it is open source
          https://vivaldi.com/source/
And the part that is closed is just html/css/js that you can't redistribute but you can read, mod, audit etc...

They don't want people just forking it to only change its name to vivaldo sneedBrowser.

Certain people do this for some reason. They have to tab through all the shits just to get to the one they want. Its highly inefficient way of browsing the site.

The optimal means is ~2-4 tabs. That cycles constantly.

Why would I close them? They are organized in trees and I usually do same research for weeks, so don't close anything untill I am done.
Periodically adhd kicks in and I impulsively open youtube/IQfy for procrastination or I just forgot that I have already opened same tab so I open 10 same tabs in different places. But idc as there are search for tabs + tree folding + they are vertical so I see what's every tab is about.

They don't eat memory, firefox unloads them automatically when there is not enough ram

Also workspaces/containers are very nice, I have separate profiles for different kinds of browsing: one personal cookie set, one for work and one for uni

Not everyone lives on the internet and uses daddies and mommies trust fund to buy 4090TIs every month. when you actually have fairly proper hobbies and reading to do and you life is dogshit psycho npc hell things can pile up very quickly. Many of these tabs are there for me to remember to actually read them when I finally start on my backlog. Other tabs are there because direct links to it disappears or the content disappears so I have to have a t least a placeholder to remember what it was.

bookmarks get cluttered really easily and it's not like there's really a reason NOT to keep the tabs open if your browser shuts them down while you're not using them.

Chrome made a mistake with the horizontal tab list, it's stupid as frick.
Horizontal windows taskbar is also stupid.

Horizontal lists are UI cancer, it blows my mind that these two things are still used like that.

To browse the modern web? There isn't really one. The alternative barebones ones will break certain sites and don't have any extensions. I'd rather a modern browser that blocks shit than a lightweight one that can't display some sites and has no adblock.

this has nothing to do with ADHD or hoarding. it's just lazy people who have no organization skills whatsoever. it's the electronic equivalent of the crazy old dude who has 10 stacks of papers all around his desk and can never find anything. normal people learn that they are more efficient if they spend some time to organize their papers in an archive and their links in different bookmark folders. these people are either too stupid to understand that, or too lazy to do it.

Edward Bernays would not have allowed these options offered to the masses. Too many choices breeds division and discontent (and more shopping and purchasing so maybe I'm mistaken about Bernays opinion).
