Razer broke in less than a year and have the Logitech for about 3 years. The main reason I got the g502 was because I use the scroll wheel a lot for AutoCAD, PDFs and revit. But after graduating last year, I don't have time to game as much.

My razer was fine for 10 years and just now the middle button got stuck and stopped working too.
Very comfy mouse, but I threw the wireless charging dock away as soon as I got it and used it wired. Don't think I'd spend that sort of money again though

im also a G502 user, and love it, for the price i highly recommend it.

It doesn't matter, their software suite is gay and you can't even fully utilize the hardware without it, into the trash it goes.

this. the mouse is good and comfy but requires shit proprietary drivers. go with a zowie mouse instead

        >proprietary drivers
who cares about muh proprietary shit? just use it and shut the frick up, it's not like you'd know what to do with the source anyway

homie you can just install the software once and configure it how you want. After that you can uninstall.

Either not when I bought it or not anymore.
Razer is trash, and they deserve to suffer for such homosexualry in the first place. They're software literally required internet to setup a mouse. How cucked are you to want to defend them?

          Anonymous

How much does Logitech pay you? It doesn't require internet access ever.

            Anonymous

            It certainly did in 2019.
            Immediately returned it.

For the record, I'm referring to the software to customize it, of course the mouse worked out of the box without the software, but who buys this kind of a mouse to leave it at its default settings?
I then got a SpeedLink mouse instead.

            Anonymous

It didn't, I have a Viper Ultimate from then and it never required internet access. Stop being a moronic logitech shill.

Define "fully utilize the hardware", because the mouse comes at 1k polling and 5 dpi stages by default which you can change with its buttons.
The software is gay bloated shit but you only need it to mess with remapping obviously ir change the rgb which is a gay thing to do.
      >t. Deathadder V2 for a year and a half
Good deal under $40 btw which is it's current price.

Is it worth buying second-hand? I don't want to pay full price for a gamer mouse but my b***hass Craptech G20 has been double clicking for years.

          Anonymous

Bruh is 38 bucks brand new on Amazon, this mouse used to be 70. You are not paying full price for it.
That being said if it is in good condition obviously it is worth it getting it second hand but I doubt it is less than $25. At least get to try it since I've seen the shape isn't for everyone. I got ir because I wanted to try it, and yeah it is decent for the price, but I realized I aim bettter with ambidextrous mice.

you can install something that auto-closes every BG Razer shit after Synapse runs so that it can load the settings. Trash yeah but there's that choice since the mouse themselves are alright and cheaper

Razer is fine and makes superior hardware to Logitech but man is their software shit. It's the only thing on my desk that doesn't retain its set LGBT lighting color when the software isn't running.

      Anonymous

That isn't my experience so far, the stupid leds are changing colors and I even disabled the razer software on startup. I don't think I've opened the software since the first time it installed.

      Logitech software is shit too.
I bought G604 because comfy extra buttons, but their piece of shit GHub breaks the fricking SCROLL DOWN when using non-default profile in onboard memory, and they still didn't fix it.
I hope installing old version will help.

        Anonymous

Oh yes it's absolutely garbage too but at least i was able to stumble my way into making it keep consistent lighting EVENTUALLY. It's a shame the hardware has all the durability of glass chinaware.

        >doesn't retain its set LGBT lighting color when the software isn't running
Pretty sure I've heard that from others as well, and not just the lighting, even things like DPI settings and polling rate.
Nah, not the worth the hassle, returned it the minute the software asked me for an email address and wanted me to create an account.
Got a SpeedLink instead and never looked back.

That's not true, dpi settings are saved on the device thankfully.

The software is alright, but there is a ton of bloat. Also I just set the mouse to how I liked it and uninstalled.

      >doesn't retain LGBT settings

That's because only homosexuals use RGB lighting.

If your talking about the essential then it's a good mouse for the price.

Basilisk x, viper mini, and orochi v2 are amazing. Razer makes good products now. Honestly you can't go wrong with Razer if you care for latency.

I have the V2 wired, it's decent. Bad things: the black cable collects dust like a Black person, the mouse memory can't be used for RGB, Synapse is shit and the clicks are muffled a bit. If you can get it for 50-60$ it's a good deal. It's very comfortable for me. Keep in mind that you need bigger hands for it.

  19. 2 years ago
    Anonymous

    Deathadder = shit.
    Viper = good ambi
Basilisk X = good right handed ergo

My mistake was returning the Basilisk X for the Ultimate when they put it on sale. The Ultimate is a bit bigger making it feel less comfy to hold. The clicks are also less crisp and satisfying, I guess it probably have to do with the 50 fricking RGB the Ult has which not only fricks up the battery life but also makes you look like a fricking moron using it.

The smooth scroll wheel on the Basilisk Ult is nice though.

It's because they use literal different switches. The X uses Omron switches which will eventually get the double clicks after 1-2 years. The Ultimate uses optical switches which does not get double clicks.

        Anonymous

2019 versions of the X uses Omron, I think there is 3 revisions now. The latest uses Kailh Green which is the same as Kailh Red. That's why it feels snappier than optical.

The Ultimate is garbage and consumer trash but I can recommend the current iteration of the X especially now that its' $30.

I bought one since I got tired of using the fricking default wired mouse that came with the company's shitty HPs. Those POS gets tangled everywhere especially if someone were to use your computer after your shift.

They work, their battery life is shit and you cannot wait it by moving the mouse. Overall if you can get it for under $10 its fine if you happen to need a very shitty mouse.

Just got my Orochi V2 in bros. Seems pretty good on arrival. Clicks weren't as loud as I feared though they still are loud. Using it on Bluetooth also good just as I had wanted. No noticeable latency or drops. Although it can be a little bit annoying to wake it up after leaving my PC for a while, but I'm already used to that on my Bluetooth keyboard.

Just bought a G600 for FFXIV, on sale for 35 bucks at best buy. Is there a better mouse for MMOs under 40? I can still cancel my order.

Cancel it. The G600 is outdated. The side buttons are the most awful feeling buttons ever. I hate pinky rests so most "mmo" mice suck to me.

At your price range I'd get the G502 or look at those Evga gaming mice as they tend to have a lot of buttons as well.

HyperX Pulsefire Raid looks decent but I can't recommend due to the click latency.

TBQH the new Razers are hitting soon and they put everything on clearance including the Naga which is $50 right now. The buttons are separated well enough and are big enough so you don't frick up your rotations.
