Most of these people are completely socially unaware boomers. "Inclusivity" is totally wasted on them. I was at the barber's with my dad and he was on the phone with the police having someone evicted while in a room with a bunch of minimum wage renters. I mentioned he should probably try not to have those sorts of conversations in public and was like "Oh yeah I guess that would be upsetting to a lot of people."
I don't think landlords are bad people, I know my dad essentially has a second job maintaining all those houses. I just highly doubt they give a frick about what you call them.
>go around to all affected units with a beefy sawzall or small chainsaw, cut holes out of the ad facade where the windows are
idk landlord, someone came in and claimed they were maintenance so we let'em in and they cut it out for us. you didn't send them? i thought it was a response to our complaints.
Or you could just open your window and piss on it every day until the piss soaks through and their iPhone ad has a giant piss stain dripping down it on to the sidewalk.
and have dried piss stench waft through the flat 24/7 through the limited ventilation hole offered by the now piss-filled facade gap? lmao
moronic plan. hurts only you. the citygoers below are already accustomed to detecting and evading human waste, won't even register to them.
Ubik by Phillip K Dick has this exact scenario. One of the main characters is so bad with money he gets stuck in his apartment because he can't afford to pay the door to open.
I wonder why all those American corporations so eager to show their solidarity with innocent victims back then remain silent nowadays while tens of thousands of civilians are being murdered with American weapons.

Dumbass doesn't know how file sharing VLC and qbbitorrent works. If you wanna be a slave and rely solely on streaming platforms to listen to music, more or less if you need to be hooked up to the internet 24/7 just to listen to a digital music file you're moronic. I like to listen to digital music off the grid; it's super convenient and as much as vinyl CD cassette etc some stuff doesn't get pressed physically or the pressings are dogshit like with 2005's Late Registration OG vinyl dear God. That's when I realized the remaster or CD proved to be superior, or the iTunes master. It's fulfilling and truly a learning experience for audio engineering looking at all possible mediums or formats for a particular release and seeing which is better. Zoomers will never know the true pleasure of playing a smooth jazz cassette with the proper hardware while smoking a Camel. Vaporwave made the whole lo fi aesthetic accessible to Zoomers and they can't understand any of the socioeconomic or political context that makes the reference material so engaging. I'm just an old 2000s era hipster back in the day when you could meet b***hes at a Flaming Lips concert and take acid while playing Mario Kart Wii with naked art ho's painting and kissing each other.
Progressives have always been weirdly antisemetic.
Conservatives are usually just quietly superior and only notice things when they blow up right in front of them.
Anyone willing to raise a stink had local music or was listening on YouTube like an autist. You seriously underestimate how docile the average consumer is, ESPECIALLY the people who stream music. That's hardly any more effective, especially when most companies are actually owned by just a handful of conglomerations and the vast majority of people aren't political and so aren't going to change their buying patterns because one brand supports something they don't like.

>it doesn't care where it comes from
it does. almost all of these cars are manufactured from extremely difficult-to-access electronic components that won't behave and will actively lock-down their domain of responsibility unless there's a fully attested, secured, locked-down communication channel between all individual components that indicate compliance and authenticity. bypassing it in any way locks the entire car down, no interface, no screens, no accelerator/brakes/wheel input, no lights, nothing except a "contact support" message on the dash that can only be reset if you have the multi-thousand dollar tool that communicates with the manufacturer's server to get a vehicle-unique unlock key if it appears to be entirely untampered with. otherwise, get fricked.

You’re a fricking Noob if you can’t set the bools that report if the car is tampered with to false
Aside from the obvious problems of bricking and warranty voiding, not every device can be "jailbroken" in the first place.
Current technology makes it possible to create a piece of hardware that will only run official cryptographically signed code and that will only work in conjunction with other hardware that can provide a cryptographic proof of authenticity. You're not doing anything without those keys. There's no workaround or hack if the software and hardware is written correctly.
The only thing keeping me from buying an older car is the whole safety aspect. I don't trust people on the road in their oversized SUVs and pickups. Not at all.
this is why am buying mac book pros from 2012 to 2015.
Everything in NOT encypted to everything else
Well built
Can replace SSD at will
have spares
Can run linux/windows/osx at will
I can back up MY own bootable drives and boot from usb using carbon copy cloner
keyboard is good
in 2012 I can replace ram and slot ing and out battery no glue
ALSO has firewire and ethernet inbuit, basically the most connectivity of any mac
keyboard is good
Also I can pick up a MBP 2015 16 gig 1TB for 300$ which is 1/10
So Ihave 4 2015, 1 2014, 1 2013 in 15 inch
4 2012's 13 inc.
thats pretty good redundancy.
Also these will go retro in about 10 years and be big $$$$$ when people realise its the only solution to run almost everything AND run things that are not SAAS so you can run diconected from the itnerenet.
Or just the ergonomics of it really, cramped in seats like that it may just be more comfortable using the screen than to type on the keyboard at the time.
this guy's keyboard is probably busted or something
He's sitting on a bus seat, there's little space to position the computer. He can put it right up against his belly, but the keyboard will be uncomfortable to use. Or he can push it towards his knees, but the screen will go increasingly vertical and difficult to see. So he took advantage of the touch screen virtual keyboard.
The obvious solution to this kind of shit is just rampant shoplifting while the person on the screen watches helplessly until businesses that do this shit either fail or are forced to put real people back in the store.
>while the person on the screen watches helplessly
An in person cashier would be instructed to do the same. The only difference is that a thief has to look a real person in the eye while they do it.

LOL it was not something we learned years later but hours after seeing that covid will be a great shit imposed by the government. Making tech specifically addressing a known scam and relying on it is stupid.
I even like the design of these masks, but their usecase is missing. Literally the Gnome problem of "what is the use case for this DE?"
Half of /misc/ was panicking, screaming doomsday, 90% mortality or whatever and posting webms of chinese people dying suddenly before the pandemic even got out of China, though

hindsight 20-20 that covid was not >10% mortality is not an argument against the concept
It is conceptually pretty cool, just marketed during the wrong time. This is something that would be great as a respiration device for mines, gaseous areas, anywhere the traditional mask and filter setup is generally used. With material changes, it could work for space and zero atmosphere as well. It's just going to get a bad rep among certain demographics because it was originally brought up and sold during the super scary extinction level disease that wasn't actually a concern.

The correct terms are "landisraelite" and/or "parasite".
"Lord" is gendered and hierarchical. It's offensive to women, troons, and rentoids, not to landlords like your dad.

Seems like that would be a fire code violation but maybe things are different in the UK.

idk landlord, someone came in and claimed they were maintenance so we let'em in and they cut it out for us. you didn't send them? i thought it was a response to our complaints.

Do mutts really?
Ubik by Phillip K Dick has this exact scenario. One of the main characters is so bad with money he gets stuck in his apartment because he can't afford to pay the door to open.
In K. Dick's books, any object can be a metaphor for God.
In Ubik is the door.
that would be interesting to do at least once

I wonder why all those American corporations so eager to show their solidarity with innocent victims back then remain silent nowadays while tens of thousands of civilians are being murdered with American weapons.
It surely can't be because for whatever reason they're allowed to denounce some literal who cop but they're forbidden to ever criticize the chosen people, can it?

What kind of moron wouldn't break out the marshmallows for that.
I'm just an old 2000s era hipster back in the day when you could meet b***hes at a Flaming Lips concert and take acid while playing Mario Kart Wii with naked art ho's painting and kissing each other.

how antisemetic
a no-filter anti-semitism is the college university professor blm progressive politics now, get with the times
Progressives have always been weirdly antisemetic.
Conservatives are usually just quietly superior and only notice things when they blow up right in front of them.
Wait this actually happened? And people just took it up the ass like that?
Non-free software is extremely gay.
Anyone willing to raise a stink had local music or was listening on YouTube like an autist. You seriously underestimate how docile the average consumer is, ESPECIALLY the people who stream music. They literally open their phone and say "what am I listening to today?"; their reaction to this BLM thing was probably "oh, boy; this is gonna be so important".
Like, you remember how absolutely insane everyone went back in 2020, right?
>Like, you remember how absolutely insane everyone went back in 2020, right?
not really, nothing changed for me
It was really bad. We basically had a full on color revolution.
They forced a bunch of stuff into trending, but yeah, only Apple Music actually fricking blocked access.

we're too small

Yes you are, unless you live in Russia or parts of China. We all live in America.
>They forced a bunch of stuff into trending
I did notice that. I pretty much only listen to old British folk music and classical so seeing this random rap stuff in the recommend lists seemed pretty funny.
>You seriously underestimate how docile the average consumer is
All the average morons I know just use spotify guess which I don't think did this? Apple music isn't even very good.
the correct way to vote is with a greenback, not a ballot.
That's hardly any more effective, especially when most companies are actually owned by just a handful of conglomerations and the vast majority of people aren't political and so aren't going to change their buying patterns because one brand supports something they don't like.
Switching who you give money to makes little to no difference. The only winning move is not to buy.
As for ballots, local elections are the only plausibly not fake and gay avenue.

Makes me realize I got to cherish and start caring better for my car. It's probably going to be one of the last "analog" models before this shit becomes pervasive.
I already bought my forever car: 2006 Ranger with the 5-speed Mazda-made manual transmission and Vulcan V6, pretty much the most reliable vehicle you can get for a decent price.
Way ahead of you
When I realized even the cheapest new cars have backup cameras and entertainment centers and shit in them
So I bought a 90’s escort wagon
It’s most advanced feature is a radio, doesn’t even have a cassette deck.

Whats is the best fully mechanical I can buy? My current car even has shit like a electronic pedal. I just want everything mechanical except the sound system and maybe the windows.
>he doesn't want a mechanical sound system
you are going to want fuel injection rather than carburation and i say that as a schizophrenic luddite who hates smart devices
Toyota commuter cars like the corolla.
Wait I thought this was IQfy - Technology. You don't like software? Human advancement? The latest and the greatest technology? Get out. Now.
Some of the most technologically educated and competent people I know also happen to be some of the most paranoid neo-luddites I know.
The dealership tells me there are literal miles of wires in my 2013 VW. VW keeps all the diagrams and diagnostic tools locked down tight so trying to chase electrical gremlins on my own is an absolute nightmare.
>Some of the most technologically educated and competent people I know also happen to be some of the most paranoid neo-luddites I know.
I go through this a lot with my family since I'm the "computer expert" so they can't imagine why I wouldn't want a google assistant or amazon alexa device in my house.
>be a software developer for a decade
>explain family members how and why corpo datamine all info about them
>no reaction
>mom saw some random video on IG where people DISCOVERED that google apps send your data by default and how to disable it
>mom SHOCKED and share video with me
>some rando bimbo from IG have more influence over my family members privacy than me with decades experience in IT
︶___︶
there's a difference, normies aren't afraid of big man, but they are (rightfully) afraid that data is immediately available on their device (they don't know about takeouts)
>Human advancement?
In what sense is your car narc'ing on you "human advancement"? Technology being used to make other technology worse is not a good thing.
My parents have a Volkswagen from back when they cheated on the emissions tests. Shit's like driving a tank; best handling imaginable.
Mom says she's not getting a new one because of "botnet tracking bullshit".
It will be like Cuba where they have 1950’s cars driving around except it will be 2000's cars among E-trash
Why don't people jailbreak electric cars?
>why won't people just void the warranty and likely brick devices they rely on and that cost them tens of thousands of dollars?
Can't you just bypass the wiring and tell them to go frick themselves? The starter just needs electricity, it doesn't care where it comes from
>it doesn't care where it comes from
it does. almost all of these cars are manufactured from extremely difficult-to-access electronic components that won't behave and will actively lock-down their domain of responsibility unless there's a fully attested, secured, locked-down communication channel between all individual components that indicate compliance and authenticity. bypassing it in any way locks the entire car down, no interface, no screens, no accelerator/brakes/wheel input, no lights, nothing except a "contact support" message on the dash that can only be reset if you have the multi-thousand dollar tool that communicates with the manufacturer's server to get a vehicle-unique unlock key if it appears to be entirely untampered with. otherwise, get fricked.
they're rolling cellphones.
You’re a fricking Noob if you can’t set the bools that report if the car is tampered with to false
>the bools
Aside from the obvious problems of bricking and warranty voiding, not every device can be "jailbroken" in the first place.
Current technology makes it possible to create a piece of hardware that will only run official cryptographically signed code and that will only work in conjunction with other hardware that can provide a cryptographic proof of authenticity. You're not doing anything without those keys. There's no workaround or hack if the software and hardware is written correctly.
It's only going to get worse.
Also, there is no way in hell I'm putting GNU+Car on my fricking Tesla.
Yeah idk if I want some indian on XDA running software on my drive-by-wire car.
Violates your insurance policy.
Easiest gdpr case ever, americans can't stop losing.
The only thing keeping me from buying an older car is the whole safety aspect. I don't trust people on the road in their oversized SUVs and pickups. Not at all.
>you must buy new thing or you'll die
Easy mode marketing. Worked amazingly with Apple Watch for car crash detection and heart attack monitor
Impressive how you interpreted my post
That was a good thread
this is why am buying mac book pros from 2012 to 2015.
Everything in NOT encypted to everything else
Well built
Can replace SSD at will
have spares
Can run linux/windows/osx at will
I can back up MY own bootable drives and boot from usb using carbon copy cloner
keyboard is good
in 2012 I can replace ram and slot ing and out battery no glue
ALSO has firewire and ethernet inbuit, basically the most connectivity of any mac
keyboard is good
Also I can pick up a MBP 2015 16 gig 1TB for 300$ which is 1/10
So Ihave 4 2015, 1 2014, 1 2013 in 15 inch
4 2012's 13 inc.
thats pretty good redundancy.
Also these will go retro in about 10 years and be big $$$$$ when people realise its the only solution to run almost everything AND run things that are not SAAS so you can run diconected from the itnerenet.
this guy's keyboard is probably busted or something
Or just the ergonomics of it really, cramped in seats like that it may just be more comfortable using the screen than to type on the keyboard at the time.
He's sitting on a bus seat, there's little space to position the computer. He can put it right up against his belly, but the keyboard will be uncomfortable to use. Or he can push it towards his knees, but the screen will go increasingly vertical and difficult to see. So he took advantage of the touch screen virtual keyboard.
nice
ITT: "Thanks capitalism!"
>~~*goldstein*~~
I think we've got bigger problems than a zoomer cashier.
Good thread
What backwards ass state is this?

this isn't really scary or novel, the IRS wages basically the same psyop campaign against citizens of the US, but they don't get a marketing budget from congress to show for it

dont think ive forgotten what you did to us during covid, npcs
what is the issue with this if it works and is not soulless snakeoil cali marketing?
hindsight 20-20 that covid was not >10% mortality is not an argument against the concept
>hindsight 20-20 that covid was not >10% mortality is not an argument against the concept
are you moronic? It didn't take master predictive ability to see that covid wasn't a 1% mortality rate, let alone 10%
what is your argument against the concept?
it hurts my feelings
>what is your argument against the concept?
It's silly and reinforces fear of a not to dangerous virus and faith in unnecessary protective measures. If covid was really hat dangerous then people should be isolated and only congregate in BSL-3 protection.
>low IQ moron is incapable of considering hypotheticals
>air pollution doesn't exist
>future hypothetical worse pandemics aren't possible
If you didn't own some kind of respirator or gas mask prior to 2019 you're wrong.
Maybe the air pollution should stop instead of making everyone wear domes over their heads.
And maybe they should quit funding gain of function research on bat coronaviruses or anything else.
I agree, but until the events of the Apocalypse deal a new hand we're stuck playing the cards we have without utopia.
>it didn't take master predictive ability to see that covid wasn't a 1% mortality rate, let alone 10%
And yet in early 2020/late 2019 /misc/ was yelling and screaming about buying painting masks to protect from the Zoggie gov's who wouldn't ban travel from China. You never had this opinion from the start, you just decided that the coronavirus was a nothingburger because you saw normies take it seriously
>hindsight 20-20 that covid was not >10% mortality is not an argument against the concept
>almost everyone knew it was 5-6% because of chink data, with it becoming 0,5% when it reached the west and /misc/ even arguing if it even existed as did many people irl.
LOL it was not something we learned years later but hours after seeing that covid will be a great shit imposed by the government. Making tech specifically addressing a known scam and relying on it is stupid.
I even like the design of these masks, but their usecase is missing. Literally the Gnome problem of "what is the use case for this DE?"
>hindsight
we on /misc/ knew all along. only you npcs didnt. we were right about everything regarding covid and years later they finally admit it.
>we on /misc/ knew all along.
nah /misc/ was split in half on nothingburger and airborne aids
more like it was a nothingburger but it should've been airborne aids
Half of /misc/ was panicking, screaming doomsday, 90% mortality or whatever and posting webms of chinese people dying suddenly before the pandemic even got out of China, though
Then it was "2 more weeks until everyone dies of covid!", then "2 more weeks until everyone dies of the vaccine!"
Granted they were right about the whole thing being a scam but saying they right about everything is one hell of a stretch
Generally right wingers thought it was gonna be the next black plauge until it actually got to America and saw it was just a bad flue.
Left wingers thought it was a nothing burger and when it came to America freaked out because the media told them to.
I hoarded food while it was a thing in China and no one in the US cared. I then spent a year+ saying that it was horseshit. Then I spent a year lying about my vaccine status and pretending not to know who George Floyd was.
I want one where you can hook it up to a personal HVAC unit to cool my face out in the summer. Like a spacesuit I guess
Japan made one called the REON POCKET. A bit pricey but a godsend in the summer. It's a phone-sized slab that sits on the back of your neck and wicks heat away using the thermoelectric effect. Also invisible, which is nice.
maybe baggy clothes with small fans attached to them and some updraft up the neck?
ENTER
Nice clock
It may look silly, but I'm autistic enough to want that
just needs a holographic skull
It is conceptually pretty cool, just marketed during the wrong time. This is something that would be great as a respiration device for mines, gaseous areas, anywhere the traditional mask and filter setup is generally used. With material changes, it could work for space and zero atmosphere as well. It's just going to get a bad rep among certain demographics because it was originally brought up and sold during the super scary extinction level disease that wasn't actually a concern.
should add clips of the people who were selling masks on the street corners
heh I look like the guy with the glasses, except I'm fat and not wearing a suit :))
Does it liquidate the body in the pod or does the body need to be transferred to a separate device for that?
you get turned into onions
The pain of stage 3-4 cancer is incomprehensible. I've seen it happen to people. Sometimes it's actually better to have a nice day.
Yeah there should be options for those people.

The opposite of this is that you could become a master of anything in seconds. Don't know why they don't lead with that... Americans, why are you like this?
What makes you think you'll be allowed to do that at all?
W..why wouldn't I be anon-kun?
Be real. israelites would just use it for brainwashing.
>a master of anything in seconds
no, it doesn't actually accelerate your thought processes and give you actual perceptible time in which you could do any useful thinking. it gives you only the ~sensation~ of a massive amount of time passing and amplifies the negative emotions you feel as a result. it will not only feel like 1000 years, it will feel like 1000 years where you were unable to coherently put together a single cohesive thought and were denied any stimulation. it is an eldritch horror sufferbutton that someone working for the state will lazily press to make someone insane and shred their soul apart into agonizing slices permanently and forever as a punishment for jaywalking or not using your blinker leave your driveway.
that will not be allowed because it is white supremacy and antisemitism.
Since this is all mental, you can practice lucid dreaming. Imagine all the shit you can do.

I don't think I've ever heard of Greta being called an expert, it was just "wow look at what this TEEN is doing!"
She carried out a lawsuit against some Western countries for "breaching the convention of the rights of children" due to climate change. While ignoring China, India, Russia and a bunch of other countries that were much worse polluters than many of those she sued, since those countries weren't signatories to the convention of climate change.
And people applauded her for it as it was some brilliant political move. Demented.

The news doesn't even talk about social issues or bad things that happen. Just mostly fried chicken and pop culture.
If they caught the baddies and the crime was minor, they may report on it after the perp has been sentenced. This doesn't happen every day, since the news is primarily for talking about chicken.
Most don't understand that the giant staff at Twitter before X layoffs were just people paid to browse Twitter and "curate" it all day. Seriously they paid these roasties $150k to browse Twitter and decide what to promote.
Same thing happens on IQfy. They manually delete on-topic posts all the time to try to artificially create "consensus" on topics.

Worst part is that in 10 years you won't even be able to find things without this smart bullshit and good luck buying something durable in this day and age that's going to last for +10 years in active use.
