I mean the AI call center can't be any worse than pajeet call centers

I remember when I was a wee lad and me and my brother couldn't figure something out for the first gen iPad we got gifted, so we called the apple tech support and the pajeet spoke adequate German and did help us properly. The first and only experience I had in my life with Indian call centers was completely fine, but from what i hear online Americans get frequent scam calls from the land without toilets. I've only ever witnessed a single such scam attempts when my aunt was called last year by "paypal", although as I did not answer the phone and only heard my aunt talk I'm not sure if they were from India or not.
Anyway, it does have its benefits to have lost the world wars, at least Indians and Nigerian princes don't learn our language in school. Maybe that was Hitlers plan all along 😛

Yes lots of scam calls, though I barely get any now since T-mobile has a decent spam call blocker.

I've had two experiences with Indian support. First was where I used to work, they outsourced their tech to India and everything just kept falling apart. You'd call them up for help with a problem and not have the first clue what they were saying, nor could they understand you. I got to a point where we learned to just not call them up and suffer with whatever the issue was.

Second was a couple years ago with the company I pay electric bills to. Randomly through the door one day I get a letter welcoming me to my new home and giving me instructions on how to set up an account to pay my bills. I'd been there years. So I contact tech support and explain that there must be a mistake and ask for my old account to be re-activated. The Indian I spoke to apologised for the mistake and said he'd fix it. Three days later another letter arrives welcoming me to my new home and giving me help making an account for them. This cycle repeated a couple of times more until I gave up and said frick it I'm not paying my bills, I have a clear paper trail of me trying to solve this issue multiple times and the company just not fricking fixing it.

Eventually they started sending me angry red letters so I decided to give it one more shot, except instead of contacting their regular support I went through the complaints channel. It seems a white person finally read my issue because it got fixed shortly after that and I'm pretty sure I never got charged for the couple months I didn't pay my bills so okay.

        >Anyway, it does have its benefits to have lost the world wars, at least Indians and Nigerian princes don't learn our language in school. Maybe that was Hitlers plan all along 😛
It actually is pretty huge for you that you own your own language. Here in the annexed parts of America, all the Mexicans speak Spanish by default and only speak English only when whitey is around. Mexicans have a big advantage over us because of this. These are post 3rd generation Mexicans too so the promise of integration is completely and totally 100% a lie. They'll always be Mexican and they'll always prefer themselves.
Also I was called every day multiple times for a year by the call centers. While it was fun asking them if they're a Black person or whatever and just practicing my cussing it got boring and I changed my number. They'll eventually get the mentally infirm like the boomers by sheer volume.

the bar for a german-speaking indian is much higher than english, as everyone there "speaks english" and is thus much less intelligent on average than someone who went out of their way to learn german

I wonder if AI call centers will use voices with Indian accents?
If they do I'll bet few people will even notice.

If the AI speak in perfect English any mistake stands out, but if it speaks some kind of Engrish people will assume any mistake is just the Asian person not knowing better.

        >the jerbs americans don't want to do!
I hate this boomer lie so much it makes me want to mass pillow a retirement home. This shit started with Bush Jr. letting illegals stay "to do muh jobs 'muricans don't want to do", and looking the other way while corporations were violating H1B laws by firing Americans for jeet replacements. (BofA, SoCal Edison, Disney...)

If nobody wants to do the job that means you need to increase the wages you're paying for the job. Supply and demand. Our elites just LOVE market forces when they're making excuses for price hikes. But they do everything in their power to undermine and manipulate those same forces when it comes to labor. And make special note of the fact that they want the borders open for labor and partially manufactured goods, but closed for finished consumer goods. Which is why U.S. prescription drugs cost so much even though they're made in China, India, and Mexico. Why shit like camera warranties are set by country of origin. Why media like DVD is region encoded. "Rules for thee but not for me."

"Jobs nobody wants to do" is a propaganda lie designed to get you to spread your legs and take it while the 1% engage in mass labor arbitrage for their quarterly profits and stock prices.

There is an amount of money that Americans would take to do nearly any job. The reason they can't take a call center or agricultural job is because they are competing with Venezuelans with no education who think $7 an hour is good pay. The only reason Americans don't want these jobs is because you outsourced them and imported cheap labor. There's no reason to make $7-14/h because you are still going to be homeless and dependent on the state

That was my exact point. If our government enforced the fricking law then all these illegals would be sent home as would almost all worker visa holders. At that point corporations would have to respond to market forces. Wages would have to go up. That's exactly what needs to happen.
            >but muh inflation!!!
Inflation is almost entirely a problem of deficit spending, i.e. money printing. To the extent that wages play a part, they would be offset by the loss of illegals on gibs competing for food, housing, and healthcare.

Tack onto that: our trade with another nations should depend on parity in wages, labor laws, and environmental laws. So trade with Japan would be an easy "yes." But trade with China would have never gotten to this point without China cleaning up their act. And child slaves digging up cobalt for EV and phone batteries? That's a hard "frick no", either do what's right or go out of business and someone who can make a profit doing what's right will take your spot.

It's not that fricking hard. It just takes a government that cares more about the people, the nation, and the spirit of the law than about bribes and profits. A government that upholds the law rather than choosing to ignore it unless/until they can twist it for the people who own them.

What really needs to happen is serious punishment for the knowing purchase of or sale of non-domestic labor. It's a much worse crime than others like drugs or firearms or whatever because there is a victim, the American worker who was deprived of an opportunity to make an income.
Also we should consider, maybe it's not acceptable to have an underclass of laborers who will never earn enough to have children, have a home, be financially responsible, retire, etc? Like I get that they shouldn't pay as much as I get as a dev or as an engineer/doctor but the people working food service and retail cannot afford to exist without being totally dependent on the state. These companies/corporations/people incentivizing illegal labor are offloading costs onto the state and thus taxpayers.
Imo if a company can't pay a living wage maybe they shouldn't exist

it used to be you could survive on a single part time job
you wouldn't be rich by any means and wouldn't be able to retire when everyone else did, but you also wouldn't be dependent upon gibs
we should strive to make that the baseline for society - middle class would actually mean something once more if we achieved that level of mobility, where people who want to get ahead in life actually can by working more

Indian call centres are basically indistinguishable from AI chatbots from a consumer's perspective because of business rules. These call centres are given a bunch of scripts to follow to solve common issues. If your issue isn't covered by one of these cases they literally CANNOT help you any more than a website can. The problem is that the outsourcing epidemic is still bearing fruit such that even if you manage to get transferred to someone actually in the company, they might not even be able to help you because while they might understand the issue they still can't fix it because the only tools they have is whatever salesforce gave them. What you need is escalated to the salesforce support line and that's never happening.

Salesforce support are specifically trained to stonewall and frustrated the customer into leaving because the entire company is run by boomers that think they're entitled to your business. I work for one of the biggest agencies for sfcc specific work and we jumped ship to uplifting Shopify into an enterprise-ready status because it was more worth-while than sticking with Salesforce, who's currently hemorrhaging customers.
Let them all be replaced by AI. 0 help is better than the negative help their support provides.
Tangentially, Shopify trained their AI on an already trained model so it's oven flat-out wrong about the features the platform supports.
