you laugh but it's gonna be the next big thing, easiest $200k. well deserved too, it's a fine craft you wouldn't understand shit about. enjoy your useless obsolete "programming"
This. Most of the AI work will be on "layer 2", meaning prompt engineering. This is what will automate white collar jobs. Most lawyers, accountants, HR, marketing, they will be cut down by 90%.
If you think you're going to be earning well writing prompts I have bad news for you. It's likely going to be the Indians doing the prompts for pennies.
In other words all your white collar jobs are going to India.
I honestly couldn't care less that people will use AI to write programs. Go ahead and make it write you billions of lines of code that does the same thing as a small well designed system.
Sooner or later we'll hit the limits of this technology and people will realize that throwing more code at the problem isn't going to solve their issues, in fact it's going to create monstrosities that can only be debugged and fixed by AI, which will fix large issues and reintroduce issues elsewhere.
Complexity is the root of all our software problems right now and I can only see it getting worse when writing and maintaining billions of lines of code will be made even easier.
This isn't going to end well.
Not writing prompts moron. I'm talking about making "prompt automation" frameworks tailored for specific tasks that a customer needs.
>gonna
got a newsflash
he said gonna, he said the ebonics word
tsmt
>shitpost engineer
I'm something of a lora finetuner myself
They shouldn't be called engineers. It's not even remotely engineering, the thing is a black box you poke and nudge in random obscure ways until you find the right combination of obscure phrasing and keywords to make it do the thing you want, and they should lean into that. Play up the mystique, call themselves Prompt Whisperers or Oracles or something instead.

Are you talking about computer engineers?
If an AI can code can't an AI "prompt engineer"?
That would be AGI, and once AGI is done there are no more tech to invent.
>tech bros and I love science bros are excited about the future and wait for their ai powered sex bot
>fast forward some years
>all the tech related jobs are taken by ai, sex related jobs though are safe
lmao
>sex related jobs safe
Questionable.
they'll be called prompt associates and get paid $30k-40k a year, working in cramped offices with too many managers. and after exactly two months, they'll all get laid off and replaced by a bunch of indians
damn that is kinda spooky though, you can just send the prompt over tcp and that's all it takes. you can do it frm Haiti for all it fricking matters. ahahah oh my god tech is fricked!
How do I get this job? I've gotten proficient enough that I can get every chatbot to generate pedo smut
Do you have 4 years minimum of prompting experience?
I have a prompt engineering Ph.D, 5 prompt engineering course certificates and 20 years working as a prompt engineer
Hopefully I'll land it as an unpaid intern

Engineering majors saying that code monkeys aren't real engineers.
End up becoming a code monkey to stay relevant in their field.
10 years later, software engineers saying that prompt monkeys aren't real engineers, etc.
its very easy to understand actually: of you check the last 150 years, all the tech advancements that actually had an economic impact had all one thing in common: automation
thats why internal combustion engines and computers and the internet successed where crypto and vr failed for example.
its all about automation. can AI automate? then it will be a success, otherwise it will fail. simple as.
I really don't like this timeline
let's go back to 2000 and try again?
ngl i was thinking of getting a nursing degree instead. i know it sounds homosexual but there will always be work, the pay is decent and you get to be around women all day, surely a crumb of pussy will fall off at one point.
>you get to be around women all day
I can tell you from experience that being around women all day is not something you want.
>surely a crumb of pussy will fall off at one point.
It makes it easier to get to know women but don't shit where you eat if you plan on staying.
Like father and son, but both morons
Tell us about your experience working in a majority women company.
Yes, to people who have never worked with women.
I was a tech guy at a hotel, shagged every one of them but moslty guests they fired me and an accountant milf after i cooked her sql books remotely.
They didnt know i stole around 50k because they are tech illiterate, they fired me after finding out i fricked a maid doing the dishes in the kitchen which i didnt care much about because i was alcoholic and was abusing cocaine at the time.
This was the last time i worked with women back in 2019.
I work from home now and can tell you that working with women is cucked unless you are having sex with them.
ok fat incel
Last week i posted a pic of how much i drink and that it costs me a dub a week and the guy i was responding to me replied with
>uh so what just stop posting this shit already nobody cares
Right after asking for proof, i know you are a piece of work, anon keep seething it warms my heart knowing ur a bitter jealous loser
>I was a tech guy at a hotel
Somewhat grandiose term for front desk
>you get to be around women all day
Is this supposed to be a pro?
>you get to be around women all day
Might as well work on a snake pit.
>get to be around women all day
No amount of money can make up for this, lol
Nurses are really, REALLY shitty women.
I will still code.
Coding will gradually become more of a hobby / artistry type of thing.
Maybe in some ironic way things will come back around to good code being written again.
Like people making an FPS that fits inside 1kb.
not me, not never
>lol at this post
>look it up
>there are 3 prompt engineer jobs hiring in my area
what the actual frick
dunno why claude is pushing this shit
what actually is needed is toolchains for LLMs
no not langchain that's a piece of dogshit
prompting is dead btw because you can now issue new instructions at every iteration, so even a shitty moron tier low parameter model re-writing your quasi-systemprompt will BTFO any fixed static entry point prompt
that's literally a multi-shot prompt you fricking moron
not even close moron, n-shot is all in the static system prompt at the beginning of the context window
>no bro if it's not before the first human message it's not a prompt, it's just uhhh something else
you could still put shit in and get shit out, what the frick is even your point?
midwit
