Only works well on even pavement. Barely faster than a brisk jog or the lack of real brakes creates a massive safety hazard - usually more to others. Stop being fat and move your legs faster.

Last year, a skatehomosexual slammed into my dog from behind on the sidewalk, blamed me for “not training”, and zoomed off before i could get a picture of his chinlet face. I had to spend $950 on vet bills. Now i purposefully shouldet skatehomosexualS who come up behind me. Stay on the road. Oh you’re too slow and have no control so the road is unsafe for your sports equipment? Stay in the skate park.

          >barely faster than a brisk jog
I can do 10mph all day and sustain 20mph for a mile or so
          >lack of brakes
Just step off the damned board
          >Stop being fat and move your legs faster.
I don't care how long you can run, you can skate for longer. I'd never think of jogging to work but I skate the 12mi round trip regularly. Most of the time I don't even go straight home, a 20-40mi skate is a relatively normal thing for me. They just aren't comparable.
          >Stay on the road
Of course, skating on sidewalks sucks and is generally illegal

Seen it happen, the car narrowly missed him and he still got hurt. Longboarders are morons. Ride a bike.

At 20 you just stomp, your shoes are brake pads. Generally you're not doing 20 though

I wouldn't say they're more convenient, really depends on the usecase.

            >If I ever was to ride a bus the same applies then I can use the board for the last mile
            >if I'm going on vacation it takes up practically no space in my luggage
I guess it does vary for others but as far as my uses go a bike is nothing but downsides

            Anonymous

            >bike is nothing but downsides
            - much faster
            - takes less effort
            - safer
            - there are dedicated lanes just for bikes (assuming you live in the 1st world), no toys like scooters and skateboards allowed.

        >means of transportation
It's a toy, not a means of transportation because you can't use it on public roads.
It's like saying a Formula 1 car is a "means of transportation".

Size of the board doesn't matter, it's intent. If you're not doing tricks RKP trucks are the better choice

Irrelevant. Length of the board of course affects turning radius but that's not what we're discussing. RKP gives tighter turns, RKP with a shorter board gives even tighter turns.
          >t. exclusively uses cruisers with RKP specifically for very tight turning radius

            Anonymous

It all depends on the pivot angle and truck width, RKP doesn't automatically give you tighter turns, they're mainly more stable but are usually a bit higher than TKP trucks.

Are penny boards good? besides the looks I've heard they are pretty resistant, and they don't charge for shipping

      Anonymous

Yeah, they're pretty great with some minor modifications that let you pump them like hell.
I recommend buying a used one because kids want them and never use them, so I grabbed one for 20 bucks recently that was never fricking used but is around 100 new.

They're nice if you need something that small but to me they're inconveniently narrow, I'd just get a cruiser instead
