>Joanna Rutkowska (born 1981 in Warsaw) is a Polish computer security researcher, primarily known for her research on low-level security and stealth malware, and as founder of the Qubes OS security-focused desktop operating system.
>She became known in the security community after the Black Hat Briefings conference in Las Vegas in August 2006, where Rutkowska presented an attack against Vista kernel protection mechanism, and also a technique dubbed Blue Pill, that used hardware virtualization to move a running OS into a virtual machine. Subsequently, she has been named one of Five Hackers who Put a Mark on 2006 by eWeek Magazine for her research on the topic. The original concept of Blue Pill was published by another researcher at IEEE Oakland in May 2006 under the name VMBR.
>During the following years, Rutkowska continued to focus on low-level security. In 2007 she demonstrated that certain types of hardware-based memory acquisition (e.g. FireWire based) are unreliable and can be defeated. Later in 2007, together with team member Alexander Tereshkin, presented further research on virtualization malware. In 2008, Rutkowska with her team focused on Xen hypervisor security. In 2009, together with a team member Rafal Wojtczuk, presented an attack against Intel Trusted Execution Technology and Intel System Management Mode.

Come on, you actually believed these dumb feminist claims that it's all environmental? Is this why interest in technical stuff is correlated with exposure to testosterone in the womb - women who were exposed to more testosterone as fetuses are more likely to be interested in stereotypically male jobs (and also more likely to be bisexual or lesbian)? Or why even among chimpanzees, there's a consistent pattern of females picking doll-like toys (as opposed to more "technical" toys) more often than males? Or why the more gender-equal a country is, the bigger the personality differences?
This whole leftist worldview that people can be shaped like putty by the environment, and biology is secondary at best, is just a big lie. Adult intelligence itself is 50%-80% heritable. When there are proven environmental influences, it tends to be stuff like lead exposure and blows to the head rather than anything social. Also, prenatal sex hormones shape the development of the brain, influencing everything from the rates of autism and interest in people vs things to neuroanatomy and sexual orientation. This is also why there's a stereotype of lesbian car mechanism and gay hairdressers/designers. It's not just a stereotype.

She's actually anti-DEI and pro-meritocracy. She admits to being blackpilled about being female, and almost became FtM but decided that there was no point because she'd never be male.

There are quite a few anecdotal stories of FtMs starting testosterone and then experiencing shifts in interests that surprised even them, always in the more technical direction - for example, psychology to physics. Some even claim that taking testosterone improved their spatial imagination too.
If we trust anecdotal evidence, testosterone seems to work on your interests like a one-way latch, irreversibly masculinizing them. It's not that rare for FtM transitioners to switch to more technical interests, but it's rare for MtF transitioners to switch to less technical ones, like programming to design.
Probably best not to tell her that though, it may encourage her to transition and the transition regret rate for FtM seems to be high.

            >Probably best not to tell her that though, it may encourage her to transition and the transition regret rate for FtM seems to be high.
She vacillates a lot about it. One time she told me she was reading detransition stories to convince herself not to take testosterone but they just made it seem more appealing.

this psychological archetype of ftms ends up regretting it

            Anonymous

It's hard to say what would happen, to be honest. For MtFs, I may not see eye to eye with them on everything, but I don't find their behavior that hard to understand. Even when they come across as mentally ill in other ways, they tend to be stable transition-wise. They form a firm desire to transition due to gender dysphoria, they do it, if they end up reasonably feminine then they are happy, if not then they try to make the best out of the situation, if they end up looking like Joe Rogan in a dress and aren't socially brave then they kill themselves. Even the statistical trends in their community are pretty easy to explain if you know the forbidden theory, the one that will get you banned from Reddit, ohnonononono anything but that.
But FtMs genuinely confuse me. A lot of them are cartwheeling dumpster fires of mental instability who transition, detransition, retransition, detransition, retransition... Many "detransition stories" appear to be written by people who either never took testosterone, or continue to take testosterone and have just dropped the social stuff for the time being. And even those that have made a full and permanent transition sometimes seem to have some kind of doublethink gender identity where they consider themselves men but also include themselves in radical feminist shit (pic rel). It's all so confusing to me, and the research isn't much help. Both academic and amateur research focuses on MtFs. The research that does exist on FtMs just points towards a conclusion that the situation is complicated, but there's probably more caution and gatekeeping needed than with MtFs because teen girls are uniquely prone to the social contagion of mental illness (you may have heard about the rise of TikTok-induced fake Tourette's, for example).

According to her, she doesn't believe that she'll become male (she thinks gender ideology is moronic), she just thinks that testosterone could make her more intelligent and productive and looking weird is an undesirable but manageable side effect.
She's just insane in general, she also talks about "overclocking" her brain with amphetamines, and she was suicidal in high school because she thought she was getting worse at maths. I should probably mention that she's an autist.

            Anonymous

Hard to say regarding testosterone and intelligence. It's true that there are a lot more male geniuses then female, but that's probably just the greater male variability rule, which comes from men only having one X chromosome, so less chance for things to average out than if we had two. There's also the effect of men and women having different intelligence profiles, with men tending to have spatial > verbal and women verbal > spatial, working out to the same average IQ. But it's unclear how much of that can be changed after birth and how much is "locked in" after you have exited the womb. Increased spatial intelligence isn't that common of a reported effect of testosterone. The most commonly reported effects seem to be easier to control emotions, stronger sex drive, a change in interests.
Stimulants aren't super hard to obtain, if you visit psychiatrists and tell them that you have problems focusing then you'll probably get them in 3 tries tops. But they're also not a magic productivity serum, and it's not obvious how much they help long-term if you don't have such a low natural baseline of focus that you're constantly getting distracted by sounds and other stuff (ADHD). Sometimes good ideas come to you while you're kinda distracted, sometimes you need a bit of downtime, and there's also the matter of tolerance and withdrawals.
If you interested in the topic of sex differences, there's a weird trans-adjacent guy who's great at finding obscure PDFs that scientifically answer questions such as whether the preference for pink is purely social. He then re-hosts them on his blog and links them from his posts. It may be interesting to you.

Sounds like she's seething that she's not going to get enough anti-meritocratic special privileges, which is what all these anti-trans radical feminists do. Hard to claim that women's programming underperformance is because of "oppression" when there is objectively far more prejudice against trannies, they're far less numerous, and they still outperform women on the amount and quality of their programming.
Honestly, I'm very grateful to trannies for exposing feminist claims that there are no mental sex differences for the moronic bullshit that they are. It's one of the few good things to come out of this whole woke thing. It's pretty hilarious, when you think about it. Even in chess, a sport that requires no physical strength, trannies had to be banned from the female category because otherwise they'd BTFO women.

She's actually anti-DEI and pro-meritocracy. She admits to being blackpilled about being female, and almost became FtM but decided that there was no point because she'd never be male.

          >there is objectively far more prejudice against trannies
Tech trannies usually reach the height of their success as regular males, then troon out when established.

No, I don't think that's true. The ones from ye olde days often have some story of rebuilding their life somewhere else, in a different company, with a level of cutting ties and secrecy that's like they're a fricking CIA agent, and achieving their greatest success after that. And these days people transition earlier.

It doesn't matter if women can program or not because they're basically evil.

She is indeed a great engineer, but she's trans, so she's not at all an exception to the iron rule that the only good female engineers come from the three As.

Though the third isn't that common without one of the other two. Realistically, almost every time I see a super impressive technical post signed with a female name, she turns out to be either trans or israeli.

Exchanged emails about qubes like 10 years ago... Thread is further proof why putting my face up would be foolish. If you're a man you'll be basedacked the moment you put out a subpar feature, or woman, jerk offd to or made into ai porno. Not whiteknight just reality of the net.

stupid fricking Black person every general statement is implied to be prefixed with (99.9% of) instead of pretending by finding one single exception you somehow have disproven the existence of gender differences
plenty of trained women in the top 1% could beat the shit out of me but I'm still stronger than even the average athletic woman as a relatively unathletic man, and you see similar trends in tech fields due to a combination of preference and skill
