In theory if you could control a body's immune system you could use it to target cancer cells or any disease really. That being said given that the immune system doesn't take direct orders from the brain it would probably have to be done in an indirect way such as controlled antibodies. The concept is already done as personalized medicine, but that doesn't require cybernetic augmentation.

sounds like the brain chip wouldn’t really help contribute to curing cancer then, no?

      >how would it cure cancer?
Not alone, you have to wear a suit than takes blood samples every 10 minutes. If it detects cancer, it will hibernate your body and you will be put in a cryogenically frozen until a cure is found.

chuds are absolutely fricked in the real future that's coming

if you don't get chipped and augment your brain, you will become the new subhuman class too moronic to operate in the world in any meaningful way
if you do get chipped, they can read your thoughts remotely and punish you for wrongthink
they can already do this with non-invasive measures at limited scale with AI

    completely fricking OVER

people speculating on the potential of a technology that doesn't exist yet and has no real world applications

Unless experts are directly working on building the chips or working with patients that have them, they're not relevant to the discussion.

    Cerf says
    >Implants like neuralink can give us the power of 250 IQ points or maybe solutions to cure cancer. It can also help us solve Maths and physics questions that we have been struggling with for years.
    >Musk claimed that Neuralink's first human trial participant was able to control a computer mouse through thought, but offered few details and no evidence.

    >Researchers at Emory University in Atlanta, led by Philip Kennedy and Roy Bakay, were first to install a brain implant in a human that produced signals of high enough quality to simulate movement. Their patient, Johnny Ray (1944–2002), developed 'locked-in syndrome' after having a brain-stem stroke in 1997. Ray's implant was installed in 1998 and he lived long enough to start working with the implant, eventually learning to control a computer cursor; he died in 2002 of a brain aneurysm.
This technology is already over 20 years old. Big nothing burger but yeah I'm sure it'll give you 4000 IQ and make your dick bigger

Is there anything Nuralink can't do at this point?
    >Cure depression
    >Cure dementia
    >Interface with electronics
    >Cure cancer
It's a magic device that can do anything. Surely Elon isn't just scamming morons. Also no, I will never put proprietary (probably not even FOSS) software in my head.

I can‘t decide as long as I am in that situation.
But it is interesting if I am to lie to myself, seeking a chance against death, when there isn‘t.
And even then, death remains the cure to every affliction.
It most certainly be a choice of regret to revolt against death.
