>tfw you will never visit the divine nword generator exhibit in Barcelona
This thread is dedicated to Ramon Llull and his famous speculative work the Art. It predates the computational research of Leibniz, inspired the mysticism of Nicolas of Cusa, and carried the torch of combinatoric memory art for Giordano Bruno. His work on demonstrating the Trinity is reminiscent of a primitive form of Hegelianism. Truly, a lost yet magnificent and highly underrated work of theological erudition.
You wrote utter nonsense. Do pseuds actually find this profound and full of meaning?
You might be clinically moronic, or have had an extremely poor education (possibly both), if you didn't find anything meaningful in OP.
It wasn't meant to be profound, anyway. (it's always insecure pseuds who project this need for profundity on others). It was just an opening blurb to a thread on IQfy. Calm your breasts.
It's interesting, gematria is obviously total bs but it's a very impressive guy. Are you familiar with Athanasius Kircher OP?

You're too stupid for this thread.
I discovered this guy after reading the art of memory and then made a thread about him but I never discovered any good editions of his work. Is it even possible to read him if you don’t know latin and dont have access to some kind of library where his works might be held?
It was like hooked on phonics for morons that couldn't deal with the full Aristotelian system. Some goofy shit where you could learn it all in 30 days like you see on commercials for language learning software now. Even contemporary scholars hated Lullism and thought it was dumbing students down.
You're also too stupid for this thread. Go jerk off the organon someplace else, preferably far away.
Shit I got confused with Ramism by Petrus Ramus. Lullism wasn't much better though so I'm not deleting my post.
Ramism literally required more effort than the other memory method though
Memory methods are fake bullshit. It's the medieval equivalent of speed reading classes.
I don't see how Lullism works against the principles of Aristotelianism. Ramism is another story.
It's just one dude who goes out there to shit up every single thread out there because he got an intro to aristotle and felt wings sprouting from his back from syllogisms and boolean truth tables.
Again, Ramism falls more in line with the primary substance - species - genus arisotelian ladder though because of its classificatory method. It’s basically a method of organizing knowledge according to classical aristotelian differentiae method.
What exactly was Ramus's beef with Aristotle?
Also, I kind of know what Aristotle's differentiae method was, but was there any certain trick to it? I remember that Plato had the recursive bifurcation method, based on a quality and a not-quality until we were left with two indivisible qualities in the last fork, indicating completion, and then the exhaustive method, which is meant to cobble up all the differentiae that was revealed by the bifurcation method (or maybe even a hasty exhaustive method that might not be truly exhaustive).
I also remember that Aristotle had done a lot more work on this, including chiding Plato for having not properly collected differentiae in Statesmen because he didn't realize that it was best to treat legitimate/illegitimate and the one/few/many categories of differentiae as independent, "parallel" differentiae and "cross" them together. I don't know if there was more method to the madness though.
It seems like there's a seemingly infinite amount of ways one can generate and the organize differentiae. Like dealing with a matrix of millions upon millions of dimensions.
I don't get it.
>thread about x
>x sucks and was stupid because aristotle said such and such
It's a very formulaic poster and I'm wondering if it's not some kind of ChatGPT powered trolling at this point
Were you referring to my post
? Because this is the first thread I made and I have no beef with Llull, Aristotle, or whatever.
No, I was saying you shouldn't pay too much attention to that one post
because not much thought was put into it either.
yeah but I was responding to
instead, which seemed interesting
oh well thank you for the warning
Fair enough but imo it's not just an aristotle thing, it's just the usual hierarchy of universals that idealists treasure, porphyric tree and stuff. All rooted in gematria superstition while really missing the point of Lull's innovation in creating a proto-computational-device, which again won't ever interest those people because they are theologians first and foremost.
Hermeticists and alchemists shit on Aristotle routinely.
I found Llulls books illuminating but a tad too mystifying to be practical.
I will say this: The Book Of The Lover taught me that pain is vital to life and retroactively btfos any antinatalist utilitarian arguments that came after him
