A custom laptop case could actually be easy to IQfy (depending on case) by getting layers of plexiglass laser cut and then gluing and screwing them together into the final shape.
Making plywood out of polycarbonate is one of the dumbest ways to make something out of plastic I can imagine. It's called plastic because it conforms to a given shape when heated. For compound curves or intricate details, though, you're better off with SLA printing.

If you have a small 13 inch laptop, you can probably 3D print a case
It would work for Dell Latitudes and IBM Thinkpads because there are so many of them on the secondary market that maybe some autists would buy clear back covers.
Yeah, search for "transparent gba shell" on eBay or Amazon, good quality ones don't even cost that most, pic related is a 18€ shell and as good as the original one it replaced.
I've bought several replacement cases like OPs and I never had to bore anything, the tolerances were on par with the genuine cases.
I think anon just used the shitty membrane and buttons that some case sellers include.
>Remember transparent shells/cases?
Yes that's why I went aluminum frame for my new mATX build. Not aware of any clear cases, plus I figure the dust would look abhorrent in short order.
That's a modern aftermarket shell, anon
GBA came in a transparent case too though.
i thought it looked so fricking bad at the time. Still do.
It's just a piece of plastic anon.
no never seen it in my life
a laptop like that would pretty cool
would definitely carry around despite it making me look 6x more autistic
This, too bad plastic is brittle otherwise it would be cool
99+% laptop cases are plastic
Yeah and they are shit
So are the aluminum cases because people buy them for the look and producers cheap out on quality.
I only buy laptops with shells that are rated and certified
Best ones aren't even aluminium and you can't even tell from the outside they are metal
Never heard of transparent aluminium anon?

Itd be pretty useless
But theres dumber stuff out there
Is there even any market for that? Do normies even like it anymore?
It would work for Dell Latitudes and IBM Thinkpads because there are so many of them on the secondary market that maybe some autists would buy clear back covers.
the "im not like other zoomers" crowd would definitely buy it
are tehse actually a thing? looks kinda cool

Really wanted one of these for my playstation when I was a kid. Wish I had something to put a transparent case on now.
Same but with a PSP and DS lite
Still have a 3DS but IDK if anyone makes a clear replacement
that trend has been coming back recently
On a unrelated note, those new 6800U handhelds are fricking awesome, better than the Steam Deck.
Can a 4500U actually play Cyberpunk?
At 720p low and 30 fps. Probably needs FSR too. Aside from that, I suppose it can be considered playable.
transparent electronics are still very popular among black people.
Example?

kek
i still have my DK64 edition nintendo 64 console & controller both translucent green
My gameboy color had a purple one.
My RG350
As much as I like transparent cases, I like the metal ones Anbernic offers more
I hated this shit because it looked like some water toy.
anon, it is a toy
might as well look fun
I never forgot them.
yes?
Bet I'm the only homie here who beat nanosaur without cheats
did Apple start it?
What the frick is that
IBM PC
like most things, they didnt start it, but they surely popularised it
I wish my phone had one, but that would probably cause heat problems
>buy transparent silicone case
>find picture of your phone's internals
>print it out
>stick it under case
Yes. I always hated them.
i put one of these shells on my GBA.
it made the buttons mushy. fricking chink trash.
Why didn't you use your original membranes and buttons? You're not forced to used the shitty ones that come with the case.
i did do that.
when the case closes up it puts pressure on the D-pad and half it goes mushy.
I don't know what would make them mushy, but sometimes you need to carefully bore out the button holes on the case

oh thank you for reminding me of my atomic purple gameboy color

hope solo. she has nudes.
yes, in prison tech
Yes. And I loved them.
i had one if those but in red like this. why was transparent plastic so comfy bros?
It felt futuristic to me at the time. All my controllers were transparent back then kek.
