I'm a history major and my capstone class involves doing an independent research project. I decided to do mine on Rhodesia cause y'know, le funny based country.
Only problem is, I can't find any good archives or resources to use for this stupid thing. I want to write a cultural history of the white Rhodesians during the Bush War, because a lot of the scholarship is on the military history of the conflict rather than the cultural stuff, but I have no idea what my angle will be, or even what primary sources I'd use, or if it's even worth the trouble.
Have any of you guys studied this period, or done a project in this vein? I'd appreciate any help, the stupid thousand-word first draft is already like 10 days overdue and told my professor I'd get something in by Easter, kms.

I work with a Rhodesian guy who was in that war. He said the blacks were like animals, they called every single car an "Izuzu", they would eat just about anything, even tiny little mice with no meat on them. He walks around with a crooked neck, which he claims happened when they drove over a land mine. The most interesting thing he told me is that they used to inflate their tyres with water for that very reason. I never knew that was a thing until he told me.

so-called "Scout Carbines" has foreward scopes that looked like that but you're probably right, its probably just a short Lee–Enfield

There was apparently some Nazi guy who went there that they kicked out for being too racist. I always find the "too racist" guy who always shows up to be funny.
