Hi IQfy
I am having difficulty completing a riddle from a group that I am in and request assistance from greater minds.
"In the storm, her umbrella was disabled." The only hint they have given me is instructions on how to re-magnetize a compass.
I don't think it is a very good riddle. If you cannot think of an answer, please provide another riddle as I'd like to read better ones.t
>What goes up when the rain comes down?
No idea on the riddle you provided, to remagnetize a compass you need another magnet and then you have to realign the needle and drag the magnet across it.
...an Umbrella?
You're telling me bud.
Hehehe yeah, I have heard probably close to a hundred or so riddles about umbrellas but I have not heard the one you have provided, or if I have then I do not remember hearing it. I am inclined to agree it is not much of a riddle, I suppose the implication is that the wind in the storm blew the spring loaded arms and broke it. I am not aware of a process for fixing an umbrella that is akin to remagnetizing a compass. It could possess a much more highly contextuallized meaning where some technical process is titled umbrella and the riddle is really oriented to this process. It could be a play on the saying 'bring the storm, I have my umbrella' which is usually in reference to fortitude, if your fortitude is broken then you may need to realign or re-center to regain it. Outside of these types of scenarios I have no further thought on the riddle unfortunately.
Interesting take, thank you for your well thought out post. There is such little information in the text that, as anon put it, it pretty much isnt a riddle. There are only very vague threads you have to grasp at to even find a clue.
I understand, thank you anyhow anon.
>In the storm, her umbrella was disabled.
That's it? That's not a fricking riddle lol
>"In the storm, her umbrella was disabled."
So she became wet.
Interesting perspective on this fascinating riddle coomer.
Post the full text of the hint.

So the hint is a link?
I am afraid so Anon.
Sorry, not clicking it. If you want to post screenshots I'll help.

Very clever anon.
and what are you meant to figure out there?
Second hint for the moron itt. Solar storm. (not OP)
Am I the moron in this Riddle?
My 's' key has a crumb of something under it which causes a misfire at times, was suppose to be 'morons' plural.
I gave you a hint. You are going to cry when you figure it out, it really is not that difficult and you are probably over thinking it.
Is it a play on words?
Haha you are right, i am definitely overthinking it.
So taking your hint of solar storm, the umbrella could be considered as the magnetosphere.
you are not just trolling us, are you op?
No. I am at my wits end with this tedious riddle and I was hoping that IQfy could help me.
Do you have any interesting riddles?
but what is the solution supposed to be? do you have to figure out why is she in the storm or what?
That is way too big of a hint, essentially giving away the answer.
Not really, fairly standard riddling, exploits the tendency of people to reach a faulty conclusion regarding meaning based on context. Misdirection with an allusion toward pun which is part of the misdirection. Fairly well done riddle.
>That is way too big of a hint, essentially giving away the answer.
so you are not the op but you know the answer? I feel like you are both trolling us
I am just an anon who figured it out.
Now you are starting to get into the riddle mindset. You will figure it out.
Thankyou riddle lord.
The and the and the the. And the the the, the and the, the. The and the the.
It's the lighting rod on a ship.
t. just finished Moby Dick
Aurora?
Here is one for you anon
He thought of being betrayed by his half-brother
They were forced to wander the earth without any other. Manipulating the wind and
a blade of unseen fury, Both are bound together, Their souls locked
forever.
Oh israelites easy
Incorrect!
That's a good song
The answer is Venus. You are solving for ‘her’. The umbrella that protects from solar storms is a planet’s magnetic field, hence the compass/magnet clue. The only planets without magnetic fields are Mars and Venus. Mars is named after the Roman God of war (male) and Venus, the Goddess of Love (female). Venus is the answer.
This sounds correct, it would make sense to identify 'her' in the answer than the why.
that is actually a pretty difficult riddle
Finally. Good job, anon.
It was decent, surprised how long it took for anyone to get it after my fairly large hint last night.
Hijacking this thread to ask what are some good riddle books? Besides Exeter, of course.

This seems to be a decent collection of ancient greek riddles.
