I made it half way through and gave up. There is absolutely zero plot. It’s another episode of lit trying to be edgy recommending a book that nobody would like.
It joins my list of lit recommendations I never finished along with Ulysses and the book of the new sun.

Now I am just back to reading Stephen king books, I think that’s the ultimate realisation, this board is so obsessed with being edgy and elitist they discount anything good and always choose bizarre painful outsider books.
Stephen king absolutely destroys anything recommended here. I don’t read to suffer, I read for entertainment.

McCarthy writes about transvestites named "Bussy", that shoul be enough for any self discerning man.

The book takes like 8 hours to read so instead of b***hing why don't you sit down and finish it? It's rather short and is not particularly difficult. If you give up whenever you are mildly bored or challenged how do you expect to make it anon?

      >Stephen king books
Pathetic. Instead of blindly hating on Blood Meridian without actually giving it a fair change why don't you actually read the book? There is a reason why a lot of people like it, and being elitist and judgmental will not help you understand why the book is admired.

IQfy does obsess about it as it's short and easy, as as most people who post here have read less than 5 books in their lives and are very young it does make sense why.

Maybe once I refresh with a few more Stephen king books I can go back and tackle the second half. It is highly rated everywhere so that second half must deliver.
Book of the new sun broke my buck though and put me off battling through boring books because it never got good.

Nothing changed though 😉 I'm still waiting for you to deliver justice. You can't carry the cross one more night if we are truly in different time zones.

It’s really not that difficult to grasp, I guess the most important part is that you’re interested. Personally I was pulled in instantly because I found the kid and his introduction fascinating. It took me a while to finish it though because it genuinely made me depressed for a bit.
