They do happen but you’re not greeted by the people in the photo. A tall guy in a homemade masks grabs you from behind and wraps a steel wire around your neck, until you black out from lack of oxygen. When you wake up chained in a dungeon, you hear a quiet sob. With the little light that lingers, you make out that the crying shadow raises its head. Pale eyes look up at you as a mutter rises in the darkness: “Untie me, you scoundrel. I can’t take another…” And then the sobs continue as the sound of chains clinking and footfall sounds. A door creaks. Sunbeams fill the dungeon. Down walks someone, or something, in stiletto heels as the sound of a leather whip drags along the stone. When you peer up and your eyes adjust, you see the outline of a tall woman. As she turns in the bright halo, you see six naked breasts jiggle slightly against a statuesque abdomen. “Her” or its sex hangs low to the ankles, an appendage of matted hair upon scaly, with a single reptilian eye at the base of the pubis, right above the pseudo-penis.
A laugh echoes against the rock. The thing’s elongated, bifurcated tongue slithers outward. It raises the whip in its hand and slashes at the chained sobbing man. He wails and wails. For some reason, your wiener jilts to life. It has only just begun.

I had fun. Salem is like a theme park. Fewer people than usual because it was further out of town but the Peabody Essex Museum was amazing
