samsung phones firmware have killswitches in them. samsung firmware gives phone carriers the ability to lock out the user from there phone. Every time your phone boots up it checks the carrier(it dosent even need a carrier to do this) to see if it has returned a message. if it does it instantly goes to this screen. samsung and all android phones suck. android custom rom scene is dead. devolpers having to manually port there shit to EVERY single device they want to support has made custom roms extremely rare for devices. and even then they only get 1-2 years of updates before the devolper just abandon it all together. and for what? all phones firmwares is backdoored by default
>killswitches
They're a south korean company, what do you expect? They're experts at death because killing themselves is all they do.
the worse part is that all of this has been true for years and none of you seem to care/notice thinking that some shitty custom rom will make you private.
Give it back Tyrone
>AT&T
Found the problem. Stop buying carrier locked bullshit phones.
non carrier lock phones have this killswitch too. samsung even provides a template for other carriers as well. thats why they all look the same. non phone carriers still have that
Pretty sure it is. You are not allowed to flash other firmware other than carrier poisoned CSC firmwares. Maybe you should visit XDA more often.
They do. 1000% its built into the stock firmware. theres even image files for it inside of it if you look inside the firmware files
that which is asserted without evidence may be dismissed without evidence, so no there aren't.
Oh and Samsung makes sure to not allow you to unlock the bootloader because god forbid you get rid of network lock and use another SIM card that they don't want.
Use your brain moron. This bullshit was never a thing on unlocked carrier free models.
yes it is. Samsung includes the error message on the stock firmware.
>on the stock firmware
There's a bunch of stock firmware for each carrier and region. You just need to check one globally sold model on samfw.com and you will see what I mean.
So buy a carrier free model and stop complaining.
CARRIER FREE MODELS HAVE THE KILLSWITCH YOU FRICKING IDIOT. IT JUST NEEDS THE SIM CARD TO RETURN A CERTAIN CODE AND THEN IT WILL DISPLAY IT. THE YOUR PHONE HAS BEEN LOCKED MESSAGE IS BUILT INTO THE FIRMWARE
You are indeed moronic. I'm not talking about network unlock. Network unlock and bootloader unlock is NOT the same thing homosexual.
Those screens never disable download mode since that's how technicians "restore" your device.
Either install stock AT&T bloated firmware, or install a custom rom. Just because a rom does not list your model as supported does not mean it won't work anyway, typically so long as your processor and onboard modems are supported it's fine. Won't hurt to try given it's dead in the water otherwise.
Or move to europe where companies get sued for this kind of stuff.
I remember screens like this would always give me goosebumps. low level screens like this always looked so cool in a way.
That's Google's genius idea. They forced down every vendor's throat that bullshit if they wanted to have GMS.
1 - buy unlocked phone
2 - check custom rom website BEFORE buy

>Warning: Your device must be on bootloader version T290XXU3CVG3 , otherwise the instructions found in this page will not work. The current bootloader version can be checked by running the command getprop ro.bootloader in a terminal app or an adb -d shell from a command prompt (on Windows) or terminal (on Linux or macOS) window.
Is this a thing on T-Mobile Pixels? My 7 pro's telling me that the OEM unlock ability will be available once I get it carrier unlocked. People have been saying it's not possible to bootloader unlock a carrier-branded Pixel, but I though that only applies to Verizon ones.
My shitty motorola has a GSI on it and I never got a message like that.
It will appear on any phones when you try to remove there spyware. its alot harder on unlocked phones but it is possiable. You just need to put in any sim card and for it to return "securebooterror"(something along those lines forgot the exact var name) and it will display it.
Samsung firmware includes killswitches and allows carriers to lock users out. During boot, it checks for carrier messages. Android custom ROMs are rare due to manual porting. Firmware security concerns persist.
notice the secure error photo there. thats built into every piece of samsung firmware. locked or unlocked
and here is that secure message
where did you get that?
This is a nothing burger. You need to flash the correct firmware with Odin3 or Heimdall. No cross flashing to bypass carrier restrictions.
You never see this on carrier free models.
Don't have such problem with my old OnePlus 9 pro on custom ROM.
Don't have such problem with my new OnePlus 12 on debloated ROM. And I guess I won't see any problems on custom ROM.
Why? Because I'm not a moronic Black person.
>Korean company is anti-consumer and dystopian
why is this shocking again? 75% of South Korea's GDP is controlled by chaebols and the government is nothing but a yes-man that bends over to the will of these corporations

What? America still does this? Why?
the same reason that their internet connections are still stuck on 10mbps/100mbps instead of 10 or 100MBps, in america you are told what is good for you and thinking otherwise causes 10,000 angry israelites to join the thread
Not just phones
good idea actually
zoomer discovers ancient knowledge
anon you can disable FRP depending on the phone, e.g. some mediatek phones you can use mtktoolkit to do all kinds of fancy stuff.
The main driver for the 24/7 software update culture is to ensure the latest backdoors in all the things you fools
