The average samurai was literally 4'10" and 95lb without exaggeration, in comparison the typical euro of the time was around 5'6" and 145lb, even the typical mainland Chinese were around 5'3" and 130lb, let that sink in

No. Goryeo Koreans were smaller then Joseon Koreans and they were seen as shorter then Song Chinese as well at least in the 12th century

Lol no, maybe northern Chinese were close to Korean sized but southern Chinese were almost as small as Japanese, the Korean Peninsula has always been known in Asia as having unusually large people which was immediately noticed by westerners
European Knights were often far larger than that, I suspect the same is true about Japan’s warrior caste
Nope that was the warrior class, its why their entire tactics revolved around having 20+ of these little manlets surround a single continental opponent, 1v1 was an impossible affair for the jap samurais and they were distinctly aware of this due to their size, they literally have a gene that is related to pygmyism...

Joseon Koreans are not the same as Goryeo koreans so that western account is mute. It obviously hasnt always been the case like you claim because Xu Jing in his illustrated accounts of Goryeo said that Koreans were shorter then the Chinese and were tall hats which made them look odd

Koguryo-Sui, 300k Koreans vs 3+ millions Chinese...decisive Korean victory leading to the downfall of the Sui Dynasty
Obviously iq difference was a major factor but the physical size was noted as being a contributing reason why almost all Chinese were killed and almost no Korean casualties

You sound like a asiatic sissy >1v1 was an impossible
Yep defenetely mentall illness
Also height ≠ size and it doesnt have anything to do with your combat capability you moron
Not even a nip or a weeb but honestly any one of those goofy haircut samurai would probably absolutely wreck your cavern chested toothpick ass with their bare hands. They were warriors, you are an effeminate loser who has never seen a vegana IRL.
They weren't all inherently warriors just because they were Samurai. Hideoyoshi banned meritocratic promotion of the Japanese caste system so Samurai didn't need to be a fighter at all to hold their nobility. Many in the Edo period were just shitty money lenders or fat ass bureacrats working in an office.
All northern Asian warrior societies had partially shaved heads for some reason. Some say it's so they can wear helmets easily.
Pic related is Manchu hair
Shaving the head makes it easier to lose heat. Even the Sinic top knot has it shaven in the middle during the summer and it just seems like a full head of hair
>Even the Sinic top knot has it shaven in the middle during the summer and it just seems like a full head of hair
Doubt. Because of neo-confucianism, cutting your hair was considered a major sin
We have photographic evidence of lower classes (who also had obligation as soldiers0 doing it anyways.

Source? Only Taoist priests and some ethnic minorities were allowed to retain the topknot during the Qing, the Han vehemently resisted the queue order due to shaving the pate.

Its from the 箕山風俗圖帖. The inner head had to be shaved or trimmed because if it's too dense its hard to do a top knot. The pictures are a step by step process.

Was this practice ever done within China before the Qing? I've only seen illustrations of Qing era Taoist priests that combine the shaved Manchu pate with a topknot.

I couldn't find any evidence on the fact. I just found it interesting one of the more ardent neo confucian nation would break that rule so easily. I've also read that Children in china didn't need to adhere to it either so maybe there is a bit of leeway

afaik the topknot was only required during adulthood, adolescent males had the option of utilizing some different hairstyles. I've just never come across any literary or pictorial evidence that this practice was accepted for adult males.

You’re dumb ricecel it’s mongliods who copied steppa people who were literally indo aryans
There is nothing stylish about powerful bald men inventing hairstyles for balding men, and then forcing other people to adapt it. And then at some point it was normalized for a young samurai to see all older men wearing this hairstyle so it wasn't unusual for him to later cut his hair bald and cope about it being useful for helmets.
I always found it really amusing that ancient Germans and Celts literally looked like fricking pic rel. Their hairstyles were pretty cool. The only exception to that was the Christian tonsure, which looks dumb as frick.
Why did the Japs, and east Asians, have such weird haircuts?
Looks pretty cool. On the other hand i will never quite understand why Koreans and Chinese are so clumsy, sloppy and stupid and never give a tip-top job in anything they do, yet never attempts to innovates.
The purpose of this haircut was to providing cushioning between the helmet and the head to protect it from strikes, while also allowing space so it wouldn’t overheat underneath the helmet. They have military manuals explaining this
You got a problem with balding people you prick?
It's based, they've completely embraced balding and made it badass
This is blatantly a seething bald man that forced everyone around him to also ruin their hair.
Yup. Strange that a warrior caste would put up with such shit.
The result of hundreds of years of confucianist heritage.
you forget it's super dishonorabru if your hair knot gets cut
>Be Japanese

>hair is attached to your head
its gotta go bro, sorry

Squeal it up, goy.

troony weeb detected
It's over?
omg dwarf warriors real
There's no way the Chinese were only 5'3". Korean peasants were 163cm tall and they grew up on roots and rice
Among asians in terms or physical size its always been: northern koreans/manchus > southern koreans > mongols > chinese >>> japanese

Where did you get this data? I don't know about historical times but modern day Chinese from Shandong and Liaoning are the tallest in East Asia.
No mongols are way stronger and bigger than koreans
I dont care about muh height
>without exaggeration
Source for this non-exaggeration?
I don't understand your barbaric measure system. Speak in kilos and meters or frick off.
No. No, I don't think I will.

And still they defeated the mongols twiece.
I agree with you but your matriarchal argument is cringe

It's obviously balding and bald men forcing other men to ruin their looks
It's so obvious
Mongol hair
how did people with receding hairlines achieve this cut?
I wonder if cossacks adopted thier hairstyles from steppe warrior nomads
You’re dumb ricecel it’s mongliods who copied steppa people who were literally indo aryans
fricking love bald people and samurai
