Secular morality is just an oximoron

Secular morality has been an utter failure when implemented.

Theologians eventually won the debate.
You need God to have a working functioning moral system.

The problem is that you are advocating being uncritical of reality for the sake of morality.
Almost sounds like something pol would accuse the israelites of advocating tbh.

      no, is common sense.

morality needs a solid core ground to lay the rest of the moral framework.
This solid ground is religion and God is the authority that gives that religion the moral authority to define what is good or bad.

otherwise you end up with a sand ground to lay your moral framework and just end up with subjectivity.

Which boils to do being able to rape, murder and torture children because is totally valid under your own personal morality framework.

      which is nonsense.

        >This solid ground is religion and God
No, because the evidence for any one religion being THE true religion is just not there.
Therefore you have to make a leap of faith AKA be uncritical of reality.

Again, you need to accept at some point, is arbitrary and depends on the core civilizational values of each group of people.

But still, there has to be a moral authority that would make the moral claims, that the average person would agree resides as the big dad or protector or punisher.

          And that depends on faifth.
This is why faifth is so important for religions.
You need to believe the core truths of your nation to be absolute.

Otherwise, you end up with raping kids being ok because you don't agree with the religion of your people.

Which is the goal of the left, to rape and groom kids and be allowed to do so.

At some point you have to define a starting point with a superior moral authority than the power of the human nation states that the group accepts as the final supreme moral court of how to tell good vs evil.

The proof is that a small cult of people who were persecuted, burned, hanged on crosses, hanged in general at every turn grew in faith and grew in numbers and spread all across Europe and then the world and founded the entirety of civilization that you see before you.

The same can be said of Islam.
None of this is evidence for a religion btw.

Damn, that IS a pretty convincing argument for Judaism, ngl, now I think I should visit the local synagogue soon.

You're right, before Christianity came along, the Mesopotamians, Babylonians, Persians, Egyptians, Phoenicians, Greeks and Romans were all still banging rocks together, and totally didn't already invent societies, economies, architecture, art or literature.

            > persecuted
Being punished for crimes and breaking laws isn’t persecution
also the fact the Romans, prob the most tolerant power re religions, referred to christians as abominations and degenerates should make you pause

It is literally impossible to be both an atheist and a moral realist.
Yes I know that a lot of these stupid idiots take that position, but it is wrong and self-contradicting. There is no way around it. You cannot be both.

You cannot have an internalized morality at a population scale without God but you can have a shame based externalized "morality". See China in particular. That also applies to Rabbinical judaism and the oral torah giving advices on way to cheat God. There is also the famous Muslim concept that sins done in the privacy of one's home are not really sin because God cannot see them.
