    Huh? Unless you throw books against the wall and rip out pages you can keep them in pretty good condition. I generally don't understand how people get them to the conditions they do sometimes.

        Unironically me. My copy of Infinite Jest only has a few scuffs and bends, the spine isn't fricked up at all. I've got big hands unlike you twinks so I have a good grip

    yeah shelf threads here are pretty cringe. i actually find it even more cringey when someone has an extremely esoteric and specific shelf (like exclusively leatherboud old, obscure religious writings, for example). clearly trying too hard to be perceived a certain way and probably insufferable irl. in theory a shelf thread would be a cool way to see the naturally developed unique taste of a specific person, rather than a collection of books that would have been grouped together by an algorith, or a collection of the most commonly discussed IQfy memes. yet most shelves posted by actual human beings on the site seem to be just that.
