The Queue and Ice Trilogy by Vlad Sorokin are really good.
My all time favourite is Pushkin’s Queen of Spades, but Tolstoy’s The Death of Ivan Ilyich is really good too.
Halfway through Master and the Margarita by Bulgakov, which is great and funny.
I want to read the stories and Dead Souls by Nikolai Gogol, but haven’t gotten around to it yet.
