so I have this 13 years old pc with 32 bit architecture and I want to experience linux but it seems that most beginner friendly distros don't support 32 bit anymore.
what do I do?

Accept that 32 processors are 37 years old and at this point in time you'll have to make an effort for such old piece of tech to work
I'm planning to buy a new one
So frick off and buy a new one then. Why even make this thread??
install Gentoo
install the latest version of ubuntu or manjaro that still support 32 bits until you can buy a good machine...
you can always come here to ask questions and someone with enough free time will tell you how to do esoteric things to fix your problems
I've heard they have many problems with dependency stuff
Don't know but that's just the shit that happens with old ass architectures
https://www.debian.org/distrib/
hmmm
>gentoo
don't think I can handle it
Then debian is the only remaining choice since it will support x86 for "ever". But I warn you it will be much slower than the hardware allows because of extremely conservative compiler flags.
I'm used to being slow so no problem for me
Debian or gentoo. The former werks the latter werks fast.
I have Slackware running on my 32 bit laptop.
make your own. I know some crazy turkroach who made his own LLVM/Clang, musl libc distro just fine. It's not really that hard nowadays.
Don't install linux for desktop unless your time has no value
ignore the demotivator shills sirs
>you can waste 12 hours a day trying to fix your cobbled together hobbyist-tier OS and that's actually a GOOD thing!
>cobbled together hobbyist-tier OS
kek runs on more machines globally than your locked-down spy-and-adware OS where you literally have to ask a company's permission to use your own hardware
>Linux desktop market share 2.45% globally
kek indeed
>he doesn't know
>he thinks he knows
Okay boomer
>he has confirmed that he, without a doubt, in fact, does not know
Very true as regards grampa-tier boomer boxes.
>using the wrong tool for the job is actually really smart, you're just stupid!
>it's da wrong tool becuz I said so
yes
Run a virtual machine on your non-junk PC. Problem solved much more conveniently then loading old junk.

Why would you say something so controversial yet so brave?
Maybe try Linux Mint.
Also have a go with distrowatch.com's search feature.
Gentoo is also a good candidate if you don't mind the time and work involved.
Debian. But FYI I tried installing it on Pentium M w/2GB RAM, while the performance is "bearable", things like Youtube are almost unusable. Maybe you need to go towards WM autism to keep it operational.
> MaYbe TrY linUx mINt
Minttards, everyone.
>NOOOO LINUX ISN'T MEAN TO "JUST WERK" YOU HAVE TO BANG YOUR HEAD AGAINST A WALL FOR 8 HOURS A DAY WITH A SHITTY OS LIKE I DID NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
> he didn't understand what's the issue with Mint
Like I said: "Minttards".
Try learning English before acting smug about your shitty taste in OS lmao
Debian still supports 32 bit very well and so does Slackware.
Do you plan to be internet connected with this machine? If not, go with an older build of a well-established distro like Debian or Ubuntu.
>13 years old pc with 32 bit architecture
Anon, that's almost impossible. 64 bit became mainstream in 2005.
