See your problem is you are only using YouTube premium which removes ads this here is a "Sponsorship". Don't worry they'll add YouTube Premium+ soon which will remove those as well. /s Honestly it's still an Ad in everything but name since I'm not able to see anything like that on PC or Mobile since I have ad blocks on both. Hopefully it's just an oversight and gets resolved.

the value of Youtube is in its content. where it is hosted and the UI it is found in is quite literally the least important part. decentralized storage is the solution to many of these issues, because most are consumers and only a few are creators

It's one of the most important parts actually. The amount of storage getting filled daily is inconceivable. It's stupendous how they keep it running so smoothly and with near zero downtime. An absolute marvel of system engineering. >decentralized storage is the solution to many of these issues, because most are consumers and only a few are creators

Yes it is, there's no such thing as property on the internet. Everything can be copied, reproduced and bypassed without any real effort.
Applying the same principles to physical and digital products is as old as the discourse itself and you know why it's wrong. If intellectual labor and intellectual property have no value and don't require effort and resources, you wouldn't hesitate if I'd ask you to become my personal human ChatGPT. Labor may have value, property may have value, intellectual property does not exist and therefore can not hold value. Its impossible to have exclusive ownership of an idea, because the minute you share that idea with someone else it now exists within their brain too. There's never been anything stopping people from freely distributing "pirated intellectual property" before, the internet just made it easier.

there's no amount of money you could pay to avoid sponsors. you could be the goodest of house with YouTube premium and 500$ a month on Patreon simping and you'd still get sponsors. the only way to not get that is if you use revanced.
Choose better content creators. Videos in my feed barely have any sponsored sections in them. Those creators who do insert some sort of promotions usually keep it short and relevant instead of spamming you with the VPN ones.
Dunno maybe I should subscribe to more phone reviewers and minecraft enthusiasts to feel the struggle.
It used to be the same for mine but I guess YouTube money dried up or something so more sponsorships are taken. I have 0 clickbait or Minecraft YouTubers lol but it still is slowly creeping up. Yet it seems like every YouTuber is sponsored by pcbway or something. it doesn't matter though the point remains that paying doesn't actually change anything.
>Why are people here so opposed to the concept of paying for goods and services

Raping people to spread your genes is pretty natural, animals do it all the time. Hell, some parts of the world still do this, it's so natural and stuff that everyone should be doing it! >YouTube provides one of a kind service with exceptional uptime and responsiveness, I pay them
Cuck. >>you think YouTube is a shit service (simply don't use it then)
Oh there it is, the don't use it argument. The israelites at israelitetube push their political agendas, that's why they're willing to """lose""" money on it. If I'm wasting their money by "pirating" their shit then that makes me happy.
The supply of virtual goods/services is infinite so any price set for them is completely arbitrary >you think YouTube is a shit service (simply don't use it then)
There is no decent alternative. Not because YouTube is any sort of technological marvel but simply because it has a monopoly and is the "default" place for creators to upload content to
Paying for goods and services has to have a hook, a catch, something I want or need and cannot get by other means.
YouTube Premium is just: >Here's a bunch of features that should have been included with the app by default. Frick you, you cannot background video playback without premium and we're selling it because we can
YouTube is a shit service but unfortunately the vast majority of creators use it. I shouldn't have to pay money to Google to watch a video uploaded by some guy. They're just a man in the middle and they don't deserve my money or my time watching a fricking ad, especially since their moderation policies are offensively gay too.
Anon, they don't just host it (exabytes of videos). I don't know why this requires explanation. That guy and millions of other guys just casually use their infrastructure to upload hundreds of petabytes each year. And it's more that just storage, it's bandwidth, backups, system design and upgrades. And all it works flawlessly for billions of users. I respect it.
>the system is good, therefore the propaganda the owners push is ok!
I don't agree with Google political stance and I never said what you're implying I did. If I'd try to base my choice of goods and services on the widespread political cancer of our age I'd have to make my own shoes and look for another barber, and stop using computers and phones.
I would consider it if YouTube was still independent instead of being part of Google.
Not going to help our one of the most cancerous companies of all times, sorry.

If Youtube still existed as it did pre-acquisition you'd almost certainly find less resistance to the idea of paying for it.
>is continuously and intentionally made worse
I don't see how it's worse tbh. My only gripe with it UX-wise is the fact that I can't tell it to frick off with their Shorts for good and not for 30 days.
>YouTube provides one of a kind service with exceptional uptime and responsiveness, I pay them.
the same reason I don't watch TV.
There is a jump-scare ad every 5 to 10 mins depending on the butthole who I watch.
This is not limited to e-celebs but small guys too, who happen to have a 10 second clips of some israeli medium and an ad gets blasted on my TV or my ears when I watch on my phone and I use headphones that wake me up right the time I am about to fall asleep. >inb4 pay them
no, I am not entering in the same situation like many other US corporation enabling re-subscriptions and disabling them takes you 3 days back and forth with some moron like yourself.
I'd rather ride this train to the end.
If they disable it, I will move to something else, there's no middle ground.
>>you think YouTube is a shit service (simply don't use it then)
Youtube is a shit service, it's basically unusable on Firefox. Some videos on there are good, and I enjoy watching them on Invidious or with mpv, but the overall Youtube service is still shit.
Honestly I probably wouldn't pay for it even if it wasn't like that, but that's my current reasoning.
I hate the people who run YouTube and the platform itself, but no one I like uploads anywhere else so I'm stuck with it. If YouTube as a platform dies then creators will be forced to move somewhere better. So me being a leech on YouTubes profits actively benefits my interests. Not watching ads is just a bonus.
youtube has no content that warrants paying for it
ads are literally theft of my system resources and my 'attention' not like I'll ever pay attention to any ads
I've hated ads since I first watched them. I will always prevent ads, and there's nothing you cucks can do about it.
Videos are almost always useless unless it's some complex visual thing you need to understand (like maffs, art or physical exercise) or porn. For any other thing text is much, much better. Every time I have to watch some moron's video they take so much time to explain basic shit. Whereas with text you can skip around to find out the relevant parts. Text is also much denser than videos. It shouldn't be, logically speaking, but most people are so bad at explaining things that text is superior simply because you can read faster than people can talk and you can skip through their subhuman moronation. Also, there's the fact that most people don't know how to use intonation, inflection, tone of voice, body language and visualizations, thus defeating the point of videos and sound recordings. Oh and I'm ignoring the fact that npcs are incentivized to waste your time because they get paid for length, views and sponsorships.
YT is going to shoot themselves in the foot with this, I believe. When I use Youtube, I use it on my PC where I have adblockers and when I'm on my phone I use Newpipe. If they put ads where videos should be, why would I ever go on youtube again?
I know that watching youtube on a PC is not as common as on TV or Ipad but even if they lose 10% of their viewers they're gonna feel it. First of all, contents creators will start looking into other platforms because right now they can still say "Oh and by the way, this video is sponsored by Nord VPN, check out their page" and they will get a lot of money for this even though there are many people like me who are watching their videos uninterrupted by ads but if they have fewer viewers, they're not gonna be interested in posting their videos on youtube anymore.
>rather than going after the creators, google decides to disrupt its users
fricking GENIUS move
just make everyone move to Tiktok
this is why they're losing and zoomers are winning
>So now what?
I don't think anyone realizes the weight of this.
Right now they are going after the 3rd party "apps" which allow adblockers to block ads on youtube.
Soon they will go after the browsers who allow adblockers to be installed on them which block ads on youtube.
What this means is that soon youtube will only work on google chrome browser.
So I've been not watching YouTube the past few days and instead playing with Legos and I'm gonna be honest I don't really miss it. Any real channel I care about is already on nebula and I support them through that so...
>What this means is that soon youtube will only work on google chrome browser.
Which would be a giant monopoly red flag when the gov is already looking into them for shit.
Why are they going on such an extensive crusade against ad blockers when probably 99% of their users dont use them anyways? I dont care, if it gets down to it ill just stop using youtube
My ancient Youtube Music Vanced install still works but my normal YT Vanced is broken. Eh whatever, watching videos on the phone is for zoomers anyway.
I listen to music on my phone, and I have spotify for that. I don't watch videos on my phone, that's what my laptop is for, which is plugged into a big ass screen so my boomer eyes can see. Adblocking works just fine there.
For me I especially hate ever since sports betting became legal in my state (NC) it's a constant bombardment from the likes of Fanduel and Draftkings and it isn't just on youtube it's all over the fricking place. I'm not necessarily against gambling in fun moderation but this is clear exploitation and it shouldn't be legal to advertise this shit so aggressively.
That's not a thing. They can ban applications from the Play Store, but that's it. Anyone can download an .apk and install the application manually. Newpipe is already not allowed on the Play Store, and its userbase isn't affected at all.
I really hope Youtube wins because I want to see you all seethe.
You choose to use Youtube.
You choose it.
And you don't want to pay for the service.
And you don't want to watch the ads so you can use the service for free.
They gave you all the alternative and you just want to steal.
Google has no reason to allow you to waste their resources without paying just so you can watch e-girls dancing for 10 hours on loop.
Anon, here's what's going to happen. Youtube is going to implement some change that disrupts service for us for like a week, tops, and we'll b***h about it on IQfy while you lap it up. This won't really prevent us from watching youtube without paying though. If a mobile app somehow gets blocked, we'll just use Mobile Firefox with uBlock Origin. After a week though, whatever check youtube implemented will have a workaround, and we'll go back to normal.
A small percentage of morons who don't understand the game will switch to youtube premium, and they'll claim victory. Meanwhile the rest of us will carry on as normal. And you'll get to seethe because the reality of the Internet is this: piracy ALWAYS wins.
By the way, since you love paying for youtube, did you notice their recent interface change? It sucks ass. The only way to fix it is by setting certain values in their scripts using a custom uBlock Origin filter, an extension which your ad loving ass probably doesn't install out of principle. Dumb frick.
>By the way, since you love paying for youtube, did you notice their recent interface change?
Anon, I don't use youtube.
The only videos I watch on the internet are Instagram reels from lingerie models.
I'm paying, for youtube, therefore I am a customer, therefore I am always right and I want a completely uncensored version of YouTube where people are allowed to say Black person without getting b& or deleted
YT always prohibited third party apps in its ToS, this new concession is both pointless and a sign of weakness.
Not the first one either, after months of daily js updates to play cat&mouse with ublock they suddenly gave up on march 24.
>months of daily js updates to play cat&mouse with ublock
It would be cool if someone reconstructed the tactics and countermeasures they employed, like a step-by-step account of a battle.
Then make a video about it and upload it to YouTube.
I would pay to watch it but not by paying for YT premium only through a direct donation.
I hate phone gays but Google only has themselves to blame.
They're on a constant enshittening spree when it comes to the UI, search & overall UX. Then they get upset when people use extensions or third party apps.
All they have to do is fire the current UI & UX designers and have someone competent slowly chip away at subtle improvements over time.
Like the moron crew who put together the new search layout or the giant thumbnails recommended on a video page? Gone. Not even demoted to a janitorial role.
They've been enshittifying the UI for a decade now, the hallmark of the Pichai era.
The extension stuff extends beyond just israelitetube, twitch, twitter, amazon and netflix, etc all have the same issue with third-party developers- giving users options that they cannot charge users for.
I will simply stop using youtube lol. I'm never going to pay for a website that was free from the beginning.
They haven't improved anything since the consumer hostile takeover.
>So now what?
watch a youtube tutorial on how to search for existing threads before their new policy goes in effect
If you are not willing to fight OP, you can always use YouTube with ads or YouTube premium. Google will keep doing this till the they win.

First of all, contents creators will start looking into other platforms because right now they can still say "Oh and by the way, this video is sponsored by Nord VPN, check out their page" and they will get a lot of money for this even though there are many people like me who are watching their videos uninterrupted by ads but if they have fewer viewers, they're not gonna be interested in posting their videos on youtube anymore.
you are not even 1% of Youtube's userbase. your actions will have almost zero effect.
Last I heard it was just slightly above 10% i.e. percentage of people who watch youtube on a desktop computer
Why would they want to serve you videos for free? Go frick yourself no one cares.
EUMAN SAVE ME AAAH
Good luck google, I'm sure that'll look good in your upcoming anti-trust cases
>rather than going after the creators, google decides to disrupt its users
fricking GENIUS move
just make everyone move to Tiktok
this is why they're losing and zoomers are winning
>So now what?
I don't think anyone realizes the weight of this.
Right now they are going after the 3rd party "apps" which allow adblockers to block ads on youtube.
Soon they will go after the browsers who allow adblockers to be installed on them which block ads on youtube.
What this means is that soon youtube will only work on google chrome browser.
And watch them lose market share over it.
So I've been not watching YouTube the past few days and instead playing with Legos and I'm gonna be honest I don't really miss it. Any real channel I care about is already on nebula and I support them through that so...
They already tried with the browsers you moronic coombrain. They lost there.
>they won't try it again
ok
>n-next time I'll w-win
Israel got bombed and begged the Iranians to leave them alone. You are losing.
I am using firefox. What are you talking about?
>What this means is that soon youtube will only work on google chrome browser.
Which would be a giant monopoly red flag when the gov is already looking into them for shit.
Why are they going on such an extensive crusade against ad blockers when probably 99% of their users dont use them anyways? I dont care, if it gets down to it ill just stop using youtube
but og vanced was never open source
Now we just do a cat and mouse until one of us bends the knee. And no we aren't bending the knee. See how piracy turned out.
Adblocking works just fine there.
i hate ads so much its unreal
For me I especially hate ever since sports betting became legal in my state (NC) it's a constant bombardment from the likes of Fanduel and Draftkings and it isn't just on youtube it's all over the fricking place. I'm not necessarily against gambling in fun moderation but this is clear exploitation and it shouldn't be legal to advertise this shit so aggressively.
Ads will kill youtube before they kill 3rd party apps for youtube.
Good luck, schmoogle.
Time to pack it up. I'm sure Revanced is never going to update their patches ever again now.
revanced doesn't need googleplay to exist.
I know. That was sarcasm. Nothing changes for them and they're not going to stop.
>apps this apps that
I watch in browser with its own adblock so what the frick are you going to do about it?
Why use an app when Brave browser exists?
>Why use an app when Brave browser exists?
To block an app, you first have to detect that app. Anything that youtube would do to run checks on the client side, the app can simply spoof.
I assume they're going to ban them from Android?
That's not a thing. They can ban applications from the Play Store, but that's it. Anyone can download an .apk and install the application manually. Newpipe is already not allowed on the Play Store, and its userbase isn't affected at all.
When you make the operating system you can do whatever.
Like add a daemon that scans for certain apps every 30 minutes and removes them.
But there's non-googled android too
I really hope Youtube wins because I want to see you all seethe.
>The only videos I watch on the internet are Instagram reels from lingerie models.
a fellow man of culture and good taste.
If youtube "wins" i'll just stop watching yt vids.
I already stopped watching age-locked vids, i'm not getting an account.
I would pay to watch it but not by paying for YT premium only through a direct donation.
vpn into india or turkey and buy premium at the lowest possible price i guess
I will never watch advertisements and I will never pay subscriptions. I just won't and there is nothing anyone can do about it.
Nothing. Third parties will always be able to easily work around Google's jeet squad because they're a bunch of dumb jeets
I will simply stop using youtube lol. I'm never going to pay for a website that was free from the beginning.
They haven't improved anything since the consumer hostile takeover.
Phoneposters get btfo.
Firefix with adblocker works, newpipe works. Not sure what's the issue.
