Solve is a huge meme word and there is no one who (especially in a IQfy post) can suggest a set of things that will "solve" this issue.
That being said we can make things way better by regulating how much influence/autonomy this corporations have over their uses and the content they produce. We already leave censorship into their discretion, but they only use it as a means to secure profit margins; what I am suggesting is to pass legislation that would disallow clearly violent/harmful content on these platforms and to fund more research into the implications to the addictive design patterns of development in their software and how we can move forward to enforce guidelines to produce software that is more ethical and is less about exploiting morons to be even more moronic with addictive interfaces and garbage content for profit.
