Some people get all the luck, some are just never going to move forward because they're not as social/good looking/smart. Not saying you lack anything, I don't know you, but things don't fall into your lap. You gotta make connections and show off how valuable you are to employers or make something that people want and maybe be very lucky with timing. If you invent something like augmented reality visors for people but it looks ugly, it's not gonna sell. Meanwhile some dude makes AR visors that don't work as good a yours but it's more aesthetically pleasing and he knows a few good marketing strategies, he'll sell more inferior product than you because he knows how to manipulate people.
