I've got a Leuchtturm 1917 in A6 format with the soft cover. I carry it in my pocket. Most of the time, I use it for quick notes that I don't come back to. It's convenient as a kind of extention to my working memory. I've tried using a program like obsidian, but I couldn't stick to it.
This anon knows what's good.
Been carrying picrel and I got to say, it is far superior to smartphone. Writing down and browsing stuff with your hands is just natural.
>Reminders
That's different from note taking, breh.
For me, I just place my reminders on my penis, because I know I'll be pulling it out to piss at least twice a day.
Frick having to remember to check your reminders on a PC.
>short term to-do lists and info I'll just need for a day or two >anything artistic (self expresion)
Pen+Paper >big collection of related data (mainly in prose form) that NEEDS to be referenced back and forth (e.g. wiki, D&D planning, software cheat sheets, etc.)
Obsidian >hard structured data (tables)
Excel/Google Sheet >quick and dirty snippets of info I need to cobble together to resend via chat/email or save to later put into another place.

Well, let's just say if you are a high IQ intellectual like myself... You'll go with the true IQfyentoomen's solution... That is obsidian. The redpilled text editor that lets you hack your brain and your workflow to 1000x your productivity... Once you have experienced the glory that is mind mapping, and how it lets you level up your consciousness to a higher plane, past any israeli interference, let's just say you won't be going back. Full of a variety of powerful features for computer powerusers such as myself, it is an incredible asset to my workflow. Whenever I am writing low level languages like C and assembly on my thinkpad, I simply need to create a mindmap in Obsidian to 'zoom out' and get the big picture of the code (matrix if you will) of what I am manifesting into my reality.
>message myself on telegram for 1 word stuff >write quick notes on a small notepad I carry on my pocket/bag for 1 sentence stuff >Write proper reports for really important stuff on a notebook I keep at home
>Obsidian for organized permanent notes
Mainly stuff like project ideas, read/watch list, clothing measurements. Granted I never use any of the mind-map feature shit. >Text files on computer desktop for stuff that need attention
I just make a text file and name it whatever I want a constant reminder of, like "meeting at Friday 19, 14:00" or "clean keyboard". >To-do app widget on phone to quickly jot down thoughts
Even though it's a to-do app I only really use it to write notes, usually while I'm in bed and have an idea, or a shopping list or something >Physical notepad for daily to-do stuff
It's just more satisfying to cross stuff off it, granted I have gotten pretty lazy with it. Thinking of trying out physical sticky notes.
I used to use legal pads, switched to spiral bound pads which are slightly more expensive but feel nicer and transport better.
I tear off pages and put them in my inbox which I take stuff out of and zettel into my Org Roam database throughout the day.
The pads are good for things like meetings and sitting on benches where I want to pay attention or don't want a screen in front of me. They also let me freehand some doodles I'll either take pictures of or re-create in Plantuml or Excalidraw later that then go into the org-roam database. I dislike being on my phone in public(brain poison, anti-social, unsafe) so I don't carry it unless I have to and actually smaller notepads in my back pocket to write things down to instead.
The Org-Roam database allows me to discard used pieces of paper, backup ideas, loosely organize information by tags and links, provide in-place citations(downloading documents and linking to specific lines), and most importantly, execute code blocks in-place to demonstrate concepts, do tasks, or tinker with things. Exploring the org-roam database later is a delightful activity and It's also allowed me to capture things like birthdays and anecdotes from friends/family/coworkers like what they did over the weekend or their kid's birthdays, so I can check those notes before meetings and make small talk about it or get alerts when I should send them cards.
I use both.
how
Not the anon but I like the paper to note while I'm not near my computer or not at home and later I transcribe it to obsidian.
i don't keep a diary because i'm not a woman
That's a planner
i don't plan things for the same reason
just admit that you're a NEET and move on
>i don't plan things
>aka i don't do anything worth doing
you're not a woman, but you're not a man either.
ok but did napoleon, hitler and gengis khan write down their master plans?
I did write my master plan on your mom's breasts
she loved it
I was going to try Logseq but not I think I'm just going to write markdown files in vim in a git repo.
>write markdown files in vim
That can work well if you use something like marksman.
https://github.com/artempyanykh/marksman
Any way that doesn't use proprietary software.
if I don't remember something it wasn't important enough to remember, simple as
>t. will never amount to anything
what no apple notes does to a mf
zoomzoom
old head
I'm 19 years old, just not brainwashed as you
daily paid shill thread holy shit when will moronic jannies pick up on it
yeah we're paid shills for 2024 planners industry
you know very well its a closed source freemium application made by chink trannies
I'm not even using it, that's why I asked which is better, are you moronic or something?
Literally never ever
Jannies only ban good threads.
Both
I use a set of notebooks to take notes during the day, and use those notes to construct my org-roam network of an evening.
very nice anon, how big is your network
Email yourself
Checked
Whichever I want, at random. Add text files and apple notes.
> but unironically
>Email yourself
Google realized this and created Google keep for note taking.

i just use sticky notes and put them on my monitor if i need to remember something, very handy and easy to dispose of

you mean like with permanent marker?
That too. Or a folded up mini post-it note stuffed under my foreskin.
I would post examples but this is a work safe board.
lmao, reminds me of that turtle in foreskin image
bible or talmud, depending who i'm making business with
sorry im not some adhd moron that needs obsidian to organize my life.
obsidian because writing is slower than typing, also, let me check the get rq
writing provides better memory retention
I don't want to memorize everything i have learned, i want to be able to find it easily
if you can't remember what you learned then you didn't learn it
Asians don't learn things, they memorize them.
This is why they aren't creative however are decent at following orders.

I have a stack of paper for printers

I use google keep
i use notepad. i write everything down in one giant text file. i've had the same text file for years.
wacom tablet and xournalpp its like paper except you don't just lose it
Emacs.

I have a physical calendar, that's all I need
