Reptilian aliens do eat humans and grey aliens mutilate humans while the human is alive (remove eyes, lips, anus, lymph nodes, blood etc). Back to God, why is God letting this abhorrent stuff happen to humans? Because there is no God. What did we do to deserve it? One could say "eat meat", but what about rabbits? They eat grass and they get eaten painfully. The suffering of the innocent proves there is no God.

We have surpassed being mere beasts of the land. Animals are there for humans to use. That is a fact. We are the most advanced species on this planet, whatever else is out there is irrelevant and just whataboutism.

But the greater good could come just as easily without the suffering. For a hypothetical God, suffering would be a completely unnecessary component of nature.
We suffer because of our nature. The good that God wants for us can only come about through suffering because of our nature. Abolition of that suffering would require a change in our nature.
Why doesn't God change our nature, then, so that we don't experience suffering? Your answer, I expect, is that he wants us to suffer. Not omni-benevolent (because suffering is self-evidently bad, else we wouldn't seek to avoid it).
