      installs should be CLI only. then after its running, you can install the GUI.
      Login/Display managers are absolutely pointless.
      When your system first starts up, it should boot to a CLI. The GUI should be started with "startx"
      The OS should not create a bunch of folders like "Downloads" or "Pictures" or anything else.
