How do you deal with sweaty hands damaging your books when you read them? I don't wanna go through a surgery just so I won't sweat from my hands anymore.

Use stone tablets.
That's not sweat
No, just my average wednesday
Just buy "reading copies" of books and don't sweat ruining them. If you find something you want to keep forever buy a nicer copy and only open it for reference. Helps with clutter as it's much easier to pass on a reading copy either to a friend or thrift store. It helps to find a cheap source of used books though. I know those are drying up. But ebay is still pretty good sometimes.
I feel you anon, I stopped caring after a while tbh and when it gets bad I just use a lot of tissues

I legit was thinking of wearing gloves while reading because of this problem
I have the same problem and you can see which books I read and which I haven't by the strong yellow discoloration on the edge of the papers, I actually have to read in latex gloves lest I stain the books... so irritating...
even just holding a book gets my palms sweaty and they're not because what
this moron claims, it's probably the opposite, I wash my hands so much due to OCD that it over-compensates for the dryness.. idk
