    discrete mathematics (with proofs and theorems and exercises etc) into algebra into calc into more specialized topics (usually algorithms and set theory, but, it all depends on what you want to do)
    only after all this should you get into c/c++/c#/object oriented c
    t. knower, formal physics education, wrote lab software and did basic research at big companies

    coding without math foundation is like building a house and starting with the roof
    enjoy writing bloatware and competing with 14 year old bangladeshis with 2 week java course
    ngmi
    also without math/physics degree, you should at least win some hacker tournaments in order to be taken seriously
