Deng was probably the best but Mao was obviously the most impactful. It remains to be seen what Xi's legacy will be. The other ones are little more than interregents.
Xi is leading China during a time of transition. Chinese economy is maturing and shifting from cheap goods manufacturing to services and high tech. So it depends how successful he is in the next 15 years or so. Regardless, he may be the last leader of the CCP. This is kind of a crossroads period for China.
Deng is almost wholly responsible for turning it into a modern country and modernized, reformed and revitalized the military and economy that makes China as successful as it is today, the others (besides Mao for entirely different reasons) didn't do shit in comparison, kek. Though he did frick China's demographics with the Two-child policy.
>Though he did frick China's demographics
He couldn't have known. It was always meant to be temporary and they believed as soon as it was lifted, the peasants would breed like rabbits again. No one in the world knew that the global births would collapse.
>What will his legacy be?
The guy who was lucky enough that the west was self sabotaging while he was in power. Policy wise most of his decisions have been either meaningless or not important in the long run, if or when China overtakes western countries it will probably be through the incompetent actions of western countries rather than any skilled statesmanship from Xi. Quite literally the biggest example of someone being "Born at the right time"
One one hand the US is actually in decline, no debate. Our last major infrastructure project was the Eisenhower expressways. Quality of life has stagnated completely.
On the other hand, China is experiencing their own problems like demographics and economic turbulence.
I believe that this next 10-20 years will be the deciding factor. We may see power shift back to the East or we may see power crumble into a vacuum of different spheres if both US and China does a shitty job in the coming years.
Xi already did a shitty job. He's setup a Strong Man government with no clear successor or succession scheme, he's old as well, and other Asian countries like Japan have already started moving to keep China encircled even without the US. He dropped the ball despite having been given the world's best pass by his predecessors.
> Japan have already started moving to keep China encircled
This is normal and would have happened anyway. What about the countries that have developed stronger ties with China over the past decade? The one belt initiative? All of the infrastructure projects throughout the world? I can still name a lot that Xi did.

In raw terms yes, in percentage terms it grew much faster under both Deng and Hu.

Well duh, China had nothing when Deng took power. And then just joined the WTO when Hu was in power.
>xi bans vidya >xi bans excessive studying >xi will soon ban anime
Just imagine, if he'd only been president of earth, none of us would have ended up here...
>Mao
Arguably the biggest fricking moron to ever run a country. Excellent military commander but demonstrable proof that being a genius in one area doesn't guarantee you'd be one in another, administratively he was an actual fricking moron. >Hua
A footnote, his epitaph here is extremely appropriate. Definitely a step up from Mao but too entrenched in command market structures to have ever amounted to much more. >Deng
Probably the best of them, it's actually remarkable what he was able to pull off. His long-term impact is insane. >Jiang
Simultaneously kind of smart and kind of stupid, probably the most mixed-bag of them. >Hu
2nd-best behind Deng IMO, really did a lot to improve China's image internationally while continuing to ramp up its economy >Xi
Feels like he's throwing a lot of the work of Hu in the dumpster out of a misguided sense of nationalism IMO, and I think he's doing it at a terrible time for China. At the same time the West has practically self-sabotaged himself so it makes him look stronger than he really is.

Xi is the absolute worst guy to run China. He's basically a mashup of Jimmy Carter and Mitt Romney.

>ruler of China during the era of stagnation of the West
What will his legacy be? Overtaking US? First man on Mars? Forced births to fix fertility rate?
>ten million bug soldiers drown trying to land on taiwan
>remaining military shoves a bayonet uo his ass
He's old as shit, homie is gonna die or retire before really doing anything
He’s only 70. Every other modern Chinese leader lived passed 80. They got good healthcare for CCP leaders

Mao united China, so he gets credit for the hardest possible task. If he died 20 years earlier, it would have been much better though.
