BUT they are boring as frick. I am half-way through the second book and I am over it. I am sorry I don't like reading descriptions of mountains over and over again.

I accept your apology on one condition…
looks like meat's back on the menu, boys
How do the Orcs know what a menu is, and how do they know that meat is normally found on it? Do they have restaurants in Mordor?
By the second book do you mean The Two Towers or The Fellowship of the Ring?
If it's the first case, you dropped it at the worst moment possible, the second half of the Two Towers if peak Tolkien
>I am sorry I don't like reading descriptions of mountains over and over again.
The books are clearly not for the spiritually dead.
Tolkien was alaways trash, nothing new
Your mom was alaways trash, nothing new
>yo moma joke
you must be 18 to be here
I learned to capitalise when I was six, champ. What happened to you?
>the foundation of high fantasy
Not at all.
>incredibly rich prose
Not really. It's terse and beowulfian if anything.
>amazing world building
That can be argued. There sure is a lot of it though.
>I SAY THOUGH AT THE END OF MY SENTENCES
There is a website for lotr fans. It is called REDDIT.
Everyone is a LotR fan, it came free with being a nerd in school
Did you know, guys?

Yeah yeah yeah the parts concerning Isengard do drag quite a bit. Keep going though! Do you really want to get filtered by LotR? I kid. But as the anon said in the thread, the second part of TTT is peak.
>BUT they are boring as frick.
I read the Silmarillion when I was 17. Sounds like a you problem
What was your social life like when you were 17 ? I wonder
>What was your social life like when you were 17 ? I wonder
NTA but I also read the Silmarillion at 17 and I was one of the most liked people in my class, I was literally friends with everyone and always started off the day greeting as many people as I could
>the foundation of high fantasy

??
take a break from it. I took a a few months break after the first half of the two towers, when I came back it was all much more enjoyable to read and TTT second half might actually be the best out of the 3.
>TTT
The Tainted Turd?
His descriptions are clear and not overlong at all. They paint a good picture in your mind’s eye of what the characters see, no more, no less.
I’m convinced people who say otherwise haven’t read it at all, and are parroting memes they’ve heard from other lazy/imaginationless people.
If you're not enjoying it don't read it, simple as; only read shit you're enjoying.
The only reason you want to consume this product is because you want to fit in with the nerds that roam in this rot of a site, why would you want that?
Hey dol! merry dol! ring a dong dildo!
Ring a dong! hop along! Fal lal the willow!
Tom Bom, jolly Tom, Tom Bombadillo!
>BUT they are boring as frick. I am half-way through the second book and I am over it. I am sorry I don't like reading descriptions of mountains over and over again.
Which is why you only read Robert E. Howard if you're going to especially be reading genre fiction fantasy.
