There is no debate. The only people debating are at the low IQ of homosexuals.
If you value your privacy and don't want to get cucked into a walled garden(apple) or crappy ecosystem(microdicks), it's Linux, obviously.
But as far as working stuff goes like Microsoft Office Excel, stuff like that, DevOps, you won't get around Windows. VS Code is the utter bullshit.
As soon as you start your job in a bigger company, you are cucked to Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office, something like Team Foundation Server, or DevOps. So there's that. Either you request a corporate laptop, like I did, and you get the newest version of Windows, or you have to do it with the Windows VM or just dual boot.
As far as gaming goes, many games actually run a lot better on Linux than they do on Windows 11. Windows 11 seems to have a gigantic performance problem right now. I don't get it.
I notice some games run better on 11 while others run better on Linux. Hogwarts legacy crashes non-stop on 11. It's totally unplayable right now. On Linux it works great. It's a mixed bag. Cyberpunk 2077 runs great on 11 meanwhile it takes a significant performance hit on proton with tons of stuttering. This is just 2 examples but there's so many things. World of Warcraft won't let you enable ray tracing on Linux but otherwise runs fine on Linux. On 11 no issues. Diablo 4 on 11 has the potential to brick your 40 series cards if you don't use vsync and lock your fps. On Linux it runs beautifully, zero issues. Emulators run better on 11 than they do on Linux. Getting them to run is easier and there's better emulators available. There's no debate, these are just the facts.
>meanwhile it takes a significant performance hit on proton with tons of stuttering
works fine with wine rather than proton. remember with linux you actually have a choice
>Windows 11 seems to have a gigantic performance problem right now. I don't get it.
ironic given the whole Win11 release was mainly because they couldn't (safely) backport all the compositor changes that make it not complete dog shit compared to any GNU/Linux compositor.
e.g.
proper "borderless window"
remembering window positions
Windows is the friendliest, therefore the bestiest. ;3

I play wow on linux and ray traced shadows work fine

I like it tho

There is no debate. Also, why is linux so popular in india?
>Also, why is linux so popular in india?
It's free and a step towards H1B status.

Ignore? You replied.
Linux for everything except vr memes.
>janky UI
>constant risk of breakage from updating
>gets in your way constantly
Anyway, enough about windows.
Windows 7 was perfect. Newer versions are shit as hell.
W7 was shit, my computer got much faster after updooting to W10. Wish I wouldnve done it much sooner.
You are lying homosexual.
People who debate this are such kiddies.
The real debate is:
>What Unix to use
This is like debating “Notepad or Emacs” instead of “what actual text editor to use”.
windows is spyware and cuckoldry
linux is freedom
it's as simple as that.
Just admit you are gay if they ask you.
There are no good modern operating systems.
